A short motivational/business coaching segment by Lars Hedenborg urging focused time management and prioritization to make meaningful money in real estate and business. He argues most value comes from five activities (prospecting, lead follow-up, appointments, negotiating contracts, and building systems) and emphasizes scheduling an 'ideal week' and protecting calendar blocks against distractions like YouTube.

The way that real estate is played traditionally is an impossible game. You are to wear 10 or 12 different hats all the time. The real money in real estate is made doing just a handful of things. And I'll go over those here in a second for some of you. And this is going to be a hard truth for me. It is all the time. I spend way too much freaking time watching YouTube and rabbit holes on YouTube. The algorithm so good, like I'll watch one video and then the next video is even better. And then all of a sudden I'm like, you know, eight hours into I'm looking at Tesla's, you know, Model Y and now my whole frickin feed is like all the coolest videos on Tesla Model Ys. And so you have to be honest with yourself about where you're placing your time. And for some of you, that requires locking your phone, I don't know what they're called, but you tap your phone to it and it basically disengages all the apps that are evil on your phone for a period of time. In order for you to achieve at a level that's uncommon in this business, or even just in general, you have to be honest with yourself about where you're spending your time. And hopefully you guys have a week that's set out on your calendar in advance from a rational state, thinking about all the good stuff you want to have to have happen in your business. Your job is to create an ideal week and then live by it. Live by it. There's no negotiating when your calendar tells you to generate new business. That's what you're doing for those three hours and you need to protect it as if your life depended on it. And there's five things that make you money. These are, are worth writing down. And I want you to audit yourself. P L A N S. Write these down. Prospecting lead, follow up. Going on appointments to sign buyers and sellers as clients. Negotiating the first contract, getting them under contract, not the repairs, not the appraisals. And then building systems. Did you guys write those down? I'm looking at at least one person who didn't write them down. Prospecting lead, follow up, appointments, negotiating deals and systems. Anything else in your calendar is not making you the kind of money that you want to make.
