How To Tell If A Real Estate Coach Can Benefit You

A real estate professional explains when coaching actually helps agents and when it doesn't. They share what they learned investing in their own coaches and why their program focuses on growing your business without burning out.
So how do you know if a real estate coach can help you grow your business? You know, in real estate, there is no shortage of coaches, right? All different styles, all different stories, all claiming to have the thing that you need. Like, this is the only way to grow your business is to do what we teach, right? That is the way most coaches operate. And it's really just not true. Depending on where you are in your journey, that that's going to dictate the type of coach that you need. There are coaches that specialize in taking an average agent, which is seven homes per year, and taking them to 14 homes per year. The monumental win in traditional coaching and the big boys is to double, maybe triple your business. So if I can take you from seven transactions to 14 to 21 to 28, that is like a three year journey of some of those traditional coaching programs. And. And there's nothing wrong with it, right? 28 transactions is like the top 1 or 2% of most markets. And so if that's where you are in your journey, that's okay. And if that's your end game, and your end game is that you want to end up being sort of a traditionally successful agent, likely working seven days a week and not having any margin in your life. And of course, I'm painting a not so great picture. It's only because I know that to be true. Then you should probably go that route. The question is, what other options are there available to you? And what's different about traditional coaching versus business coaching that allows you to live a big life and also grow your business to have the margin to show up at home in a different way? If you want to spend a little bit of time with me where I can coach and train you and hold you accountable inside one of our challenges, make sure you stick around to the end of this video. I will let you know exactly how to get into our next challenge. When I think about, you know, coaching and if it's the right time for a coach or what type of coach, and the whole conversation around coaching, me and my mindset back in the early days of getting into this business and even now is that I always knew that if somebody had done something ahead of me, it was easier for me to align myself with that person and learn from them than figure out how to do things on my own. And I stopped counting. At $750,000 spent on coaching it's well over a million dollars at this point. Over the last, call it, you know, 13, 14 years or so that I've spent to develop myself personally and professionally. And this is like anything from, you know, tax and wealth building to business coaching and systems to real estate specific scripting and, you know, sales skills in real estate. I've done everything you could possibly do when it comes to investing in yourself and building something that you just a bigger life and a bigger business. And so you are preaching to the choir when it comes to investing in yourself. So the question is, what? Why do people come to seek out a coach? And what type of coach is best for you? If you think it's time for you to hire a coach, or if you're not getting the results from the coach that you're working with right now, or if they've taken you to that point of traditional success where you're selling two, three homes per month, but they don't have the roadmap to go beyond that. And so usually folks that come into our world, they. They're ready for what we do if they know that building a business is possible. Like, so going from two to three sales per month, where you're working seven days a week and you don't have much margin, you're stressed out all the time. That is one way to do real estate. The way we teach is a little bit more elegance and ease, where it's possible to sell 20 to 30 homes per month, where you're only working 40 hours a week and you're not working any evenings or weekends. So it's this mindset to realize that building a business is possible even if you're still at a solo agent standpoint. We have programs that stretch all of the stages of real estate growth, right? So there's no judgment on where you are. It's just an awareness that there's more to the equation. The next reason that people align with us is to go further, faster. It's the reason why I hire coaches, right? If I could just get close to folks that have done this thing, gone from agent to owner. If I can get close to these people and I can look at the systems that they use and get coached by, you know, all of our coaches have been through our. Our stuff. They've done the thing in three to five years is their tenure with real estate B school. And they've gone from selling homes themselves personally and just grinding out transactions to scaling a team that doesn't rely on them, that they have freedom. Now. Our most successful members are taking 6, 8, 10 weeks of vacations per year where they're totally off the grid and they're not sort of grinding out deals when they should be with their family or relaxing with their spouse. And so that's number two is that they. It's this mindset of aligning yourself with somebody that's done it. I would say the third reason is that there's a whole new set of skills and capabilities that you need to know, you need to be trained on and, and all the accompanying tools and systems where you can't just wish this stuff into existence. Right. You can't go from a top producer to becoming a business owner and just hope it's going to happen the right way. There's economic models to consider. There are, you know, lead gen levers that we'll have to employ in the business. We'll have to put tracking systems in place and accountability systems for your agents and recruiting and onboarding systems for agents that come on your team. Right? This is not an easy process. There's planning that comes along with it. And so all of those things need to be part of the program that you're going to align yourself with. So back up to the original question was like, is it the right time for a real estate coach? I would say 100% the answer is yes. And so the question about if it's the right time for a coach, one of the other traditional companies or what real estate B school does. Real Estate B school will help you make the shift from agent to owner where even if you're earlier on in your journey, we have a program that can align with anyone under 500k that you want to build leverage into your world and you want to run a profitable business that doesn't require you working seven days per week.
