Tyler Goff restructured his commission model and introduced an equity evaluation tool for listing appointments, then worked with Lars Hedenborg on leadership coaching. Over two years, he built systems that let his sales funnel run without him, improving profitability and margins.
My business partner and I started a team about five years ago, and we were with another coaching client and really had gotten to the point where we were pretty much at a dead end. Really didn't feel like we could get to the point that we wanted to, which was to exit the sales and really run it our team, from a high level. And so that's when we reached out to Lars. It was actually before he even started the B school. We just kind of, on a whim, shot him a Facebook message, and a couple weeks later, we were meeting with him in his office and just really dissecting our business, what our goals were, where we are currently at, what we needed to do to hit our goals. And that was kind of the start of our coaching relationship with Lars. And now we've been with him for, I think it's about two years. So our team has changed because it's actually become like a real business now. Just feel like we have the systems in place that we need that are going to allow us to keep our sales funnel moving forward, whether we're there or not, which is the nice thing. And so the tools and the systems that he's given us have allowed us to hit our goals and to reach really take our team to where we want it to go. You know, really what Lars teaches you better than any coach that I've ever coached with is your profitability and the margin. So that one of the first things he came in and did is really kind of restructured our commission structure and really got our profitability in a place that we could actually run a business. Another tool that he uses is called equity evaluation. So it's a tool that we use on all of our listing appointments to go over pricing with our sellers, which is an awesome tool. And it's something that's super easy to plug in. And so that's been a tool that's really been a game changer for us. So Lars is always kind of one step ahead of where we're thinking. So this intensive is on leadership, which is something that is just absolutely huge for the roles that Stacy and I are in right now. And so just to be able to focus for two days on leadership and what steps we need to take when we get back, it's something that we just would never do on our own. We got our homework cut out for us for the next quarter, and it's just going to allow us to keep getting bigger and better at what we do.
