I went to an engineering school, then I worked as an engineer. And I'm like, man, this does not feel like freedom. I went to work on Wall street, doubled my income, but tripled my hours. I'm like, this is not freaking freedom. Left that went to work for a really awesome opportunity, traveled the world, acquired 42 companies in like 15 different countries effort. If I'm going to like be with a company for 33 years and kind of climb this corporate ladder, like that's just not freedom, but being responsible for, you know, creating an income in a lifestyle that isn't normal in a corporate job. Married in 2006. My wife is pregnant. She had a pretty good job at the time, so she felt some security in having that. So that was the trigger point, was to leave that cozy multiple six figure, you know, with options, corporate job to kind of like become a real estate agent and that people thought I was freaking crazy. I sold 27 homes my first 10 months in the industry. I was the top producing agent out of 20 agents that all had like many years in the business. And I was like, this sucks. You know, I'm working every day or thinking about it every day or doing a deal. And that was kind of the trigger point, is the realization that I wasn't going to be able to create a lifestyle because I was traveling like 40 weeks out of the year with this corporate job that is not a life that I want. So I kind of chose this path of entrepreneurship. And yeah, it's been an awesome, awesome journey, fraught with all the craziness that you would imagine.
