A short presentation advising real estate agents on improving productivity by time-blocking their calendars around five high-value business functions summarized by the acronym PLANS: Prospecting, Lead follow-up, Appointments, Negotiating deals, and Systems building. The speaker emphasizes prioritizing these activities (especially systems work) so agents avoid overworking evenings/weekends and scale transactions.
Here's the advice I would give to an agent that is struggling with productivity or time management. And this goes for your personal life as well as your business life. So that you don't have to work every evening, every weekend. It comes down to realizing that there are only five things that make you really good money in real estate. And there's a simple acronym that goes with this. It's P, L, A N, S. And the goal here is to time block your calendar according to these five functions. So the P stands for prospecting or what we call new business development. Those are first time conversations with potential buyer and seller clients. L stands for lead follow up. 90% of folks you talk to initially are not going to be ready to transact or even leads you generate are not going to be ready to meet with you. So your lead nurture sequences, the videos, the value add things that you send out over time to pre sell them on working with you. That's what I'm talking about. Lead follow up. Then you've got a which is appointments. These are consultations. Your sitting down with a buyer or seller and presenting yourself your services to them so that they will do business with you. The N stands for negotiating deals. This is not appraisals or repairs. It's getting buyers and sellers under contract. And then the S stands for systems building systems in the business that make everything else easier. And so getting from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to even 8 transactions per month. The biggest differentiator, it's that S factor. It's having time in your calendar for building systems.
