MASTERMIND CALL: Using Contests to Boost Your Team's Numbers

Tara ran a contest that got her team to 50 listings in 45 days, averaging 6 per agent. She's planning a 60 deals in 60 days push with contracts due by November 30 to close before year end. The key is visible tracking on a big board and team competition.

48 listings in 45 days (average ~6 per agent).
50 listings.
60 deals in 60 days, aiming to get contracts in by Nov 30 so they close this year.
Most deals close in about 30 days.
Yeah. So Tara runs a team where her agents are. Can list and sell, and agents that are on my team after a year can do the same. But Tara says working well, having contests. Just had a contest to get 48 listings in 45 days, average 6 per agent. We ended up with 50 listing. Gave away tickets to a big event. Let me pull you on here, Tara, because this is a really cool idea. Hey, Tara, can you hear me?
Yes.
All right, so tell us about this. This sounds pretty cool. So this is kind of like 90 listings in 90 days. Like the Keller Williams contests that are going around, right?
Yeah, I mean, we just. I don't really know why I did it, but I think. Well, we had sold a lot of our listings over the summer, and so I wanted to kind of boost those numbers. And we really didn't do anything major out of the ordinary, but I think it just gave everyone a focus and kind of kept a competitive spirit within the office because we gave away tickets to this event for the whole team if we hit our goal. But then the person who had the most listings got an extra prize as well, so it kind of kept a competitive spirit. And then now just looking into, you know, what can we do for the fourth quarter this year? So most of our deals close in 30 days. So anything that we can get under contract now between now and November 30th, we're trying to do 60 deals in 60 days so we can get those all to close hopefully this year, because, you know, more than likely, anything that goes under contract in December will be for next year's business. So trying to finish the. The year strong.
Yeah. Awesome. And it's, you know, I'm. I'm take. Take a version of Lars from, like, three, four years ago. I was never really into the big. The culture and the fun part of real estate, but the reason, you know, people are on our team is because real estate's a lonely existence, and it's a tough business, and the more. The more fun you can make of it. And especially like this have common. You know, if you guys do well, the team does well. Let's. Let's make fun of it. Let's have some fun around it. I think that's awesome. So. So you're eight days into October. How many of the 60 do you have so far?
Well, sadly, I just. I just got back from my trip, so I don't really know for sure, so I know that's bad to say.
Okay.
Yeah. But we did put a. We've never had a big board in our office. We put a big board up, and I missed our team meeting Monday because I was gone. And one of the our new operations manager said she was thought it was funny because as they went around and asked the agents, they're like, well, I have four deals. I have five deals, this and that. And then our closing coordinator was like, well, I only have paperwork for, like, three of them. So they have, I think, some verbal sort of quote unquote, accepted offers out there. But anyway, but they're excited about it and they're working hard and, like I said, just kind of keeping us focused. And now we're going back through older listings, trying to get price reductions. What do we need to do to get these properties moved and closed this year?
Awesome. I love it. All right, thanks, Tara.
