Real B-School Inside Look: Top Technology Tools for Agents

Lars Hedinborg recommends real estate agents use Google's G Suite as their core platform and go deep with a few tools instead of constantly switching. He emphasizes the mantra "go deep, not wide" and offers free coaching calls for agents serious about building their business.
Hey, Real Estate B School community. Lars Hedinborg, the founder of Real Estate B School here. And I want to share with you one of the first technology tools I put into my business and it blows people away. You know, one of my mottos is to go deep in your business and not wide. And this was probably the first technology tool that I implemented in my business. And really what's unique about it is the depth at which I use all of these tools. So the suite of tools is not going to be any surprise to any of you. So it's, I think they call it Google, used to call it Google Apps, then Google Work, and I think it's Google for business now. And so it's a suite of productivity tools that really lends itself well to growing entrepreneurial businesses. And it has tools like Drive Docs, YouTube, Blogger Calendar, email, all set up to work well with a growing team. So it's super inexpensive and it's just the way that we use it and we use it in both of our businesses and it's just really, really unique. So here's the thing about any sort of team collaboration, team productivity tools is that really a few things are super important. One is that you can't really build a business around a Yahoo email address or even a Gmail email address. Like larssuperagentmail.com is not very professional. So the first thing is that it really helps you build a brand that is ultimately going to be worth something. So everyone in your team will have the same email address and it'll be unified. Number two is that it really seamlessly integrates a blog platform with YouTube. So probably, I don't know how long ago Google bought YouTube. And so just making those tools work together is super helpful. There's Google Hangout, which you can run team meetings on Google Talk, which gives you voicemail and texting capability on every email address on your team. I mean, the amount of investment to build this into your business as a platform for growth is really ridiculous and really phenomenal. So one of the things I'm known for is 10 years in the business probably so I think about a half a million dollars worth of real estate, about 2200 transactions. And I did it with tools that I put into place with an eye toward sustainability. So when I put a tool in place, I had no intention of changing it as, you know, if the wind changes directions. One of the things I see most with teams or real estate agents is that they're constantly changing what they do. They're const approach to lead Gen to lead conversion to marketing to technology tools that they use. And you just, you can't do that. Every time you make a change like that, you lose momentum in your business. So that is the word of the word for today is consistency. The second word is, well, I guess it's four words is go deep, not wide. Write that down right now on a sticky note. Put it on your screen. Go deep, not wide. Another mantra we love is that don't chase squirrels. You know, a lot of this technology is just squirrels. And, you know, a Google for business. A suite of tools like this is super helpful. Here's another thing I want to do for all of you. I want to offer you a free coaching call with me. No obligation whatsoever. Free coaching call. A chance to jump on the phone with me, a guy that I haven't done everything right, but I've made a lot of mistakes and I'm happy to share them. You know, we're going to talk about three things on the call. Number one, we're going to talk about where you are today, what's it like to show up in your business today, and how is your business impacting your personal life? That's number one. Number two, we are going to cover where you want to go. Let's call it, you know, three years from now, we're having this conversation face to face and you're telling me about the business that you built, your role in it. Everything turned out perfectly the way you wanted it. How big is your team? How many sales are you doing? What part of the business are you working in? Are you in production? How much money did you put in the bank that year? We'll talk about that number. Number three. Third part of the call, and it's a free coaching call with me, is that we're going to talk about what's holding you back. What are the obstacles that will keep you from the business you have today to the business that you want three years from now. Simple coaching call. Really valuable. Don't take me up on the offer if you're not serious about growing your business. So that's the one thing that I ask, is that do not take me up on my offer to jump on the phone with you if you're not serious about building a real business. So I have so much love and respect for all of you for doing this work. It is not easy work that y' all are doing, and I just admire you for it. So keep fighting the good fight. Take me up on the offer for a free coaching call. No obligation whatsoever. And I'll see you on the call. Much love. Bye. Bye.
