A YouTube video in which a single speaker advises real estate agents against posting generic promotional content (e.g., “just listed,” “just sold,” or open-house announcements) on social media. The speaker recommends prioritizing authenticity and personal storytelling (e.g., Facebook Live, relatable anecdotes about clients and daily commitments) to better engage audiences.
It's not a just listed, just sold open house. Like, don't do any of that. I don't feel like anyone needs to do any of that ever. Nobody on social media cares that you're having an open house necessarily. If that's part of your marketing strategy and actually gets people there, I would do it. But when I go on an agent's Facebook and it's just a bunch of that type stuff that's not going to get anything done, even if you're telling a personal story, people are going to know you're a real estate agent. And I just got out of a closing for a client. This is the second deal that we did and I didn't feel like going to the gym, but I had made this commitment, this daily non negotiable with this group I'm a part of and I made it to the gym. So you can still tell the story of like, I just came from a closing and I'm struggling with this commitment around my physical body. But you just do that in a Facebook Live and it's authentic. Everyone's going to relate to you. You're the quote unquote attractive character in that situation and there's nothing fake about it.
