Speaker (a coach for real estate agents) urges agents to be confident in their value and fees, advising them to handle compensation and negotiations on a property-by-property basis. Practical guidance includes securing clients one house at a time, consulting brokers or the listing agent when unsure how to write offers, and avoiding paralysis by breaking tasks into manageable steps.
I have a high conviction that real estate agents are worth what they get paid. And you have to have that conviction in order to sit in front of a buyer and say, hey, listen, things have changed a little bit. This is still. These are still my services. This is still what I charge. And the way that I could get paid, it could look a few different ways. And we're going to tackle it on a property basis because now there's no telling what that agent has negotiated with, you know, and so we'll just take it one house at a time, just secure them as a client. And then you will fumble your way. Even if you're going to your broker when you're writing an offer, like, hey, I don't know how to write this offer. What do I put in there? I talk to the listing agent. I mean, do this one part at a time, but don't freak yourself out if you haven't done any of it before, because then you're just going to freak yourself out to the point where you're going to be paralyzed.
