A short YouTube monologue advising real estate agents to stop treating their business like a day job and to instead build a leveraged business. The speaker argues many agents live under the "entrepreneurial myth"—believing they have freedom when their business would fail if they stepped away—and recommends reading the book "E-Myth" as a corrective. The speaker supports this with a personal anecdote about quickly learning to sell homes while wanting time with family and realizing that model isn't sustainable for true business ownership.
It's the e. Myth. The myth is you're an entrepreneur, and you're not. You don't own a business. If you stepped away from your business for a week, what would be there? Nothing. So. So that's where some time and money freedom comes from. Just little incremental choices on what to give up. And it's not. You're obviously not going to build this fully leveraged business overnight, but you will think about your business differently. Just promise me over the next week or two, read the E. Myth, and you'll. You'll see yourself in a lot of that book. And that's the book for however it happened. That's literally the first book, first business book I read after getting into real estate. And it was in a season in my life where I had the little kids and the wife that I wanted to spend time with, and I instantly figured out how to sell a lot of homes. But when I read that book, I was like, holy crap. You know, I cannot go down this path of being a real estate agent, as the industry would have me do. Everyone should read that book. Real estate agents live in the entrepreneurial myth. They're like, I have the freedom. You know, I can do whatever I want whenever. It's like, okay, but not really. There's not a lot of freedom in it.
