Lars Hedenberg picks eight apps real estate agents should use in 2025, split between growing sales and protecting time for family and health. He recommends Superhuman for email, TickTick for task management, Google Calendar for time blocking, plus Audible, Whoop, MacroFactor, Abide, and Instagram for business.

27 homes.
2007.
About 700 titles.
Having built three multiple seven figure businesses at this point, and also having the time to show up as a husband and a father, and spending time with my creator, taking care of my physical body, and having meaningful relationships with friends and colleagues, I know a thing or two about productivity and about health. And in today's video, I'm going to reveal the top eight apps that every real estate agent must have in 2025 if you want to sell more homes, increase your wealth, but also have time to enjoy life and do the things that matter most to you. Hey, my name is Lars Hedenberg. I'm the founder of Real Estate B School and the creator of the Million Dollar Agent Method. Having served over 5,000 families in my real estate sales journey and Having helped over 2,000 agents grow and scale their businesses, I definitely know what it takes to build a business that's sustainable and allows for what's most important is a lifestyle outside of the business. And so these apps are directly going to help you not only sell more homes, not only scale your business, but also have time to spend doing things you love. Hobbies, time with your kids and time with your spouse, and the bandwidth to allow for vacations and evenings and weekends off. All the things that are really, really hard in the real estate space every day. I'm using these apps now, granted, back in the day, back in 2007, I sold 27 homes my first 10 months in the business. I use none of these apps, but looking back, I could see that if I had these apps, it would make the journey so much easier, so much more enjoyable and way less stressful. So. So let's get after it. All right, the first app on the list is Audible and this is a simple app where you basically buy titles to books. So some of the titles that I've listened to recently. The wealth that Money Can't Buy by Rabin Sharma. Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. That was a heavy one. Over Subscribed by Daniel Priestley Day Trading Attention by Gary Vaynerchuk the Way of the shepherd awesome, awesome book on leadership. Lead Like Jesus by Ken Blanchard. That was amazing margin. Be your own bank. To hell with the hustle. Do the work. There is like so, so much power in being able to listen. Ideally, I'd be reading these books. I'm not much of a reader, but being able to listen to someone's life's work on a topic. So eight hours of listening and you could probably get away with like 6 if you're on 1.25 or 1.5x and you can basically shortcut, you know, the 500 hours it might take to learn those concepts or those principles. Now, granted, you actually have to do something with this information. So it's not enough just to listen to it, you have to apply it. But this has allowed me to, I think no less than 700 titles I have on my phone in my Audible account. And it allows you to take advantage of what is called Net. To listen to an Audible book takes no extra time when you're going for a walk or when you're, you know, on the treadmill or you can be doing housework and listen to a book. So instead of spending time scrolling social media or consuming like way too many Netflix series, you could just decide that you're going to spend a little bit of time every day listening someone else's life's work and just get smart on something, whether it's sales or marketing or leadership, whatever. The thing is that you need to learn to get to that next step of your journey. Make a commitment today to get the app audible and start listening to that book. All right, the next few apps are going to be more health and lifestyle related. So app number two is Aura. So there's a wearable technology here. I've also used the Whoop band and basically I'll pull it up here. Aura is tracks all of your vitals so you could see there basically. Most importantly, it tracks my sleep where there is no way to hack your sleep. You cannot show up as a business builder and great husband and like super present for your kids and being ready to engage in all of that without taking care of the most important thing is rest and recovery. And another cool thing on the app here, it gives you your readiness score. And Whoop does this as well, gives you a score basically how ready you are. And it also tracks your resting heart rate. It also tracks your stress. Now granted, back in the day, I did not have an aura ring or a whoop wearable wristband, right? But these days it's so easy to forget about sleep or to, you know, work too hard and get stressed out. That highly recommend you just have something tracking your vitals, whether it's aura or whoop. Either one of those are going to do the job and track your sleep and all of the vitals that are important for you to show up as a high performer not only in business, but also in the areas of life that matter most. All right, the next app is called Macro Factor. I've also used an app called Lose it and my fitness pal. You have to track what you're putting in your body and what you're consuming. And I know I don't want this to come off as like overly judgy and all of that. Back in the day I did not have these apps and I did let my body get out of control in terms of like not eating the right things and putting on those extra pounds. And at the end of the day, I did not have the energy I needed to show up as a really good husband, a really good father. And so tracking what you put in your body is critically important. And the thing I like about macro factor specifically is that of course it tracks all your weight trends and all of that, your energy expenditure, your energy balance, it tracks all your goals. You can track weigh in and food logging habits and it also tracks your macros. So I'm on a macro diet where I have a goal to consume. I think my goal daily is about 180 grams of protein. No judgment if you're on a different sort of diet, but that one works for me in terms of shedding the lbs that I don't need on my body. Either way, it's going to be really tough for you to achieve your business goals if you're not lean and you're taking care of yourself physically. All right, App number four is Abide. So this is a meditation app. The one that I use is a scripture based meditation app and this one's called cast your cares first Peter 5:7. I've also used an app called Calm, which is more of a traditional sort meditation app. I really struggle to slow down. So I'm always going, I'm always thinking, I'm always like building the next iteration of the business or solving problems in my head all the time. Probably some not so good habits in terms of like my mind is always spinning and just taking a break once a day to do a meditation and go through a practice of learning how to meditate and just sit with your thoughts and sit with your breath is wildly impactful in terms of just getting clarity to be able to navigate, you know, growing your business and discernment maybe in making decisions and just taking time out to think about like man, how does that one thing, why is it triggering me over here or when I'm asked this question, you know, this comes up for me and it allows you just to slow down. And this is coming from someone that is not good at slowing down. And back in the early days of my business, I was just running all the time. As I get older though, you know, I really have to make sure I take care of myself in terms of just my mental rack space and my ability just to decompress a little bit and take a step back. All right, app number five, and there's two of them here. And I lumped them together. It's Instagram and Facebook and not in the way that you're probably thinking. 99% of people go on to Instagram or Facebook, TikTok or any social media app and you're mindlessly scrolling and consuming. That is the opposite of what you need to do. You need to be lethal in terms of your use of these apps. And Instagram probably has the best communication platform. So putting out short form content, getting engagement about real estate topics, that would help buyers and sellers. For me, I'm doing it to help real estate agents, but it allows us to have actual conversations with, in my case, real estate agents, but in your case, with buyers and sellers based on the content you put out. If you're doing anything on these platforms other than putting content out to help your target audience or having conversations with people that need help with that thing, in this case, buying or selling real estate, you're doing anything but those two things. You're not in the game of building an actual business business. These apps are designed to keep you on them and consuming. So you need to decide right now that you're going to be the 1% to use these apps for productivity and not for distraction. One of our members decided that her platform was going to be Facebook, not that she liked Facebook over Instagram. She personally likes Instagram more than Facebook. But her target market, she decided, was on Facebook. She committed to doing one Facebook Live every day for 90 days. And she took 30 listings in 90 days. From that simple strategy, she interviewed local business owners. She would give a sort of a real estate tip of the day. She would describe a difficult transaction she was going through. It was unbelievable, the amount of engagement and the number of conversations that she was able to have. By deciding that she was going to use Facebook as a business tool and not a mindless scrolling exercise. It happens to me. I'll be on YouTube and I'll just go through shorts. And sometimes I do it at night, which I shouldn't even be on a screen late at night and I'm just watching and like 20 or 30 minutes later it's like, what happened to that time? You know, all of a sudden you're like, your time is lost forever. So use the social media platforms as business tools, not for consumption. App number six is not so exciting. It's Google Calendar. So how could you be a productive real estate agent and still have time in my case to be a husband and a father and have friendships outside of my family if I wasn't time blocking And I time block everything. In real estate B school we have what we call the time freedom system. It's just a recommended way to time BL your calendar in terms of your morning routine, your new business development time blocks, your follow up time blocks, your office work, your consultations, your family time, your all of it, right? Get it in the calendar recurring and then you're just showing up every day, you're doing the thing the calendar tells you to do. And I love the Google interface. I don't like the Google interface for mail. So Gmail, I don't love the native app and you could just see my calendar here. If I don't have it in my calendar it is, is not happening. There's not a lot of white space on my calendar. Some would say like, you know, I like to kind of wing it and I don't like having a lot of appointments. But 7 to 8am I have quiet time, 8 to 11am I have no calls. So every morning I have the freedom to take care of my physical body, to do my morning routine, to consume some content, to read a book or whatnot. I've got content time blocks in here where I'm creating content. I've got team meetings in my calendar, I've got family nights, I've got date nights, I've got church, I've got Sunday family dinner with my mom and my sister. Everything that's important to me is in my calendar. It would blow your mind if you knew the amount of agents that say they want to be productive and they want to grow their business and double, triple, quadruple their income. And I asked them to open up their calendar and there's like nothing in it. It's like, how do you know what to do tomorrow morning? It's like, well I kind of come to the office and you know, I usually get here at like 9:30 and then I usually open up email and it's like there's no intention at all. And so just a simple commitment to use your Google Calendar will change everything. App number seven is superhuman. It's an email app and yes, there's a monthly fee associated with it. But I mentioned I really do love the Google Calendar app. I don't like the Gmail app. So I will spend five to 10 times longer in email using the Gmail app, then the interface is unbelievable. So the goal here is Inbox zero. So that's what Inbox zero looks like. I get a different, different picture every day and this one is actually my inbox is segregated. So I've got important communications that come right to me. So I've got three in there, nothing in my calendar and then I've got an other which is a receipt. I just swipe it and then I've got Inbox zero. I'm telling you that this app I have tried everything around email. I've tried to hire a full time assistant that managed my calendar and email using this. I'm able to go through maybe a few times a day. I could open it up at the end of the day and have, have 60 or 70 emails. I'll spend maybe five minutes going through 70 or even 80 plus emails. Because of the way the interface is set up. They use keystrokes versus you know, clicking everywhere. And once you learn how to use Superhuman, it will change everything for you, I promise. I've tried everything. I don't know how much they charge now, but I think I pay like $30 a month. But it will save you a ton of time if you're finding yourself in email all the time. Highly recommend you use Superhuman. Last but definitely not least, this is my most favorite app in the whole world. It's called Tick Tick T I C K T I C K And so this app here, you can see this is my goals and vision. So I've got my daily prayer on here that I go through every day. You can see for my marriage, for my kids, for my business. I've got my personal goals and habits you can see there. And I read these every day. This app has transformed everything. You could see my goals for real estate, B school. You could see my goals for revenue share. I've got a revenue share organization, my financial goals, my vision for 2027 is on there. And also I've got a category leading like Jesus and what that looks like, right? My faith is super important to me and there's a prayer I say every day. So I go through that every day. Also I track my habits in this app so you can see there. I try to do a 12 hour fast and meditate and pray, read the Bible, review my goals. Personal development to me is I'm either listening to a podcast that enriches me or I am reading a book, eating a proper lunch, doing weights or cardio and having meaningful connection with my wife and both of my kids. And I just Check off those habits. Another cool thing, it's got an Eisenhower matrix, which is if you don't know anything about urgent and important, there's a quote by Dwight Eisenhower saying basically like the urgent is often not important and this, the important is not typically urgent. So, you know, like working out may not be something that will impact your health today. So it's not urgent, but it's critically important. So like working out is not something that's like massively urgent where you're not going to necessarily have a heart attack today because you don't take care of your physical body, but it's critically important to take care of your physical body so you're not having an urgent run to the emergency room because you had a heart attack. So it's this balance between the urgent urgent and the important matters. And in real estate everything seems urgent. And oftentimes agents aren't spending time on the things that matter most. Those critically important things that we just push off for urgent matters of real estate. And then your calendar is integrated with this as well. So I could not recommend Ticktick anymore. And again, I think there's a paid version of it. There's also a free version. But this app will keep you organized. It has to do and task lists. You can manage projects out of this app. I manage all my content creation and whenever I have an idea about content, I go into a list around that there's automations that you can include in it. It is by far the best productivity app I have ever used, hands down. And I've probably used dozens, you know, maybe 50 different productivity apps in my journey in business and life and Ticktick takes the prize of them all. All right, so hopefully this has been helpful to hear me think about, you know, the integration of technology with what really matters, what's really going to move the needle for you in terms of your business and your life and, you know, playing a different game of business and life and allowing for a lifestyle that maybe you thought was never possible. Technology is our friend. Just make sure the apps that you're using on your phone are actually helping you in the areas of life and business that truly matter.
