Use Bold Leadership to Get Bold Results

A speaker-led YouTube presentation titled "Use Bold Leadership to Get Bold Results" advocating that leaders should adopt boldness to drive team performance. The speaker highlights Pastor Steven Furtick as an example of bold, growth-oriented leadership and cites Andy Stanley for leadership framing. He enumerates four core traits—clarity, focus, stubbornness, and resourcefulness—and uses a humorous analogy (a middle-school girl pursuing an iPhone) to illustrate relentless focus. The talk connects leader boldness to team speed and willingness to take risks (e.g., investment in lead generation).
I promise you, this is so far from anything that you've ever been to. And now. So let me start with this concept. And again, I'm going to move fast today because a lot to cover, a little bit of time. Right on Bold leadership. So if you could write that down. Bold leadership. Lars, put this picture up here. This is a really special picture to us. This is Pastor Steven Furtick here in Charlotte, North Carolina, who is leading a church called Elevation Church that's just had a phenomenal growth. Pastor Stephen, super young guy. He got a strong call from God when he was 16 years old. And this man is one of the boldest leaders I've ever seen. He's grown. He's from Moncks Corner. Anybody ever heard of Moncks Corner, South Carolina? It's like a nothing town down deep in the heart of South Carolina. And he just had this call and this vision and started with a small group of four or five families and has grown this church into over where there's over 20,000 people on a weekly basis attending this church on like, 13 different campuses throughout the area, and one all the way in Toronto, Canada. I say all that to not tell you about our church per se, but I couldn't think of. And Lars is the one that put this picture up here. I didn't even know this was coming today, but he knew it would mean something to me. Is an example of somebody who just worked what they had, and they had the boldness of a lion, and they went after it. They had a commitment and they had a calling on what they were doing. Just like each one of you, right, Has a calling to what you're doing. You're in your business for a reason and for a season. Right. And your boldness will make all the difference in the world. Okay, so with that said a little bit on that, let me share four quick things. If you write these words down, write clarity, number one. Number two is focus. Clarity, focus. Stubbornness. Got to have a little stubbornness, right? And number four is resourcefulness. Resourcefulness, clarity, focus, stubbornness, and resourcefulness. Lars has shared with you guys the name Andy Stanley. Andy Stanley's a pastor down in. In Georgia, Atlanta. He does some leadership podcasts that I know some of you. Scott. I'm looking at Scott, if you listen to. I heard one on this topic of bold leadership. I thought this was a funny analogy. He talked. Anybody have middle schoolers or have had middle school kids? Okay, we got lots of hands there. That's a tough season, right? Whew. I've got a 16 year old, a 14 year old, a 12 year old and an 8 year old. So I'm in the thick of it, all right? And the analogy he used, which I thought was hilarious, he said, picture a middle school girl in pursuit of an iPhone. Remember that, Scott? Middle school girl in pursuit of an iPhone. Do you think that girl would have a lot of clarity around what she wants? Do you think she would have focus? Do you think she'd be stubborn all day long? Do you think she'd be resourceful in getting that iPhone? You betcha. I thought it was kind of a funny little analogy that he shared. Write down this quote if you could. Clarity around an unreasonable commitment to what should be. Clarity around an unreasonable commitment to what should be. Lars talks about it all the time. The greater clarity you have as leaders. And when you have that stubborn, kind of almost an unreasonable commitment to what should be, that's what's going to take you across that bridge on that production. There's so many hows, right? And Lars is doing an amazing job unpacking all the different things that we need to do. Right? From our brand to lead generation, all that stuff. I promise I'm going to get off the stage. We're going to give it back to Lars. Right? We're going to go back to the how. But make sure, as leaders. I heard this by Andy Stanley. It was so good. Don't be cowed by. By our how. Sometimes these are tough. Lars keeps talking yesterday about how much he's challenging us in our thinking to go deep with this stuff. Right? But don't back down. Be a bold leader. Be like a Pastor Steven Furtick or bold as a lion. Because when you bring that kind of boldness to your team, guess what that does? Speed of the leader. Speed of the speed of the pack. Absolutely. When your team sees you demonstrate that boldness in your leadership and they see you taking risk and spending money on lead generation or whatever that might be, they're inspired by your boldness.
