A speaker shares how their difficult childhood with an alcoholic father drove them toward achievement instead of destruction. They credit Tony Robbins programs like Date with Destiny and structured planning cycles (3-year vision, 90-day goals) with helping them trace adult fears of failure and success back to childhood roots, arguing that naming the origin is enough to change how you lead.
I think I have an amazingly unfair advantage of having a completely jacked up childhood. So if I'm being honest, like, I think I just came out of my childhood where I didn't choose the path of destruction, I chose a path of unnatural achievement. So that is like my baseline answer. And now it's just I do play a game with myself around, you know, a three year vision, a one year plan, 90 days at a time. So now it's more of a game than anything else. And. And I have others that are depending on me to still lead them and lead by example. But I do think if you didn't have a jacked up childhood with an alcoholic dad, you gotta do basic personal development. I've done everything with Tony Robbins. I did Date with Destiny. I don't know if he still does that program, but he has. What's it called? It's called Breakthrough. There's an app if you went. If you just search Tony Robbins Breakthrough, you can get every one of his programs either for 199 or 299 on an app. Someone that knows what they're doing in terms of rewiring. There's the whole like fear of failure, fear of success. Like that stuff is real. And it comes from. It always comes from something from your childhood. Like 99% of the time, the way you show up today has something to do with something, your dad or your mom or something that happened to you when you were 8 to 15 years old. Has anyone ever done any work with Wally on call Reluctance. Wally Bressler, in like 90 seconds, he's like, your dad clearly did this, or your mom when she, you know, whatever. And he'll go right into it and you'll be like, what the f. Sometimes just identifying it is, you know, is, is enough.
