Alice argues that real estate success comes from identity, not one-time effort. She stopped running for 18 months after a marathon, showing how sporadic big pushes don't stick. The real work is making daily activity part of who you are, then pushing through the typical 60 to 90 day cycle when most agents quit.
The goal isn't to run a marathon. The goal is to become a runner. So if you identify as a runner, it's a nice day outside, I'm going to go for a run. But I actually ran a marathon and my wife has me on video saying I will never run again. And I took like 18 months off from running because I had a single grand gesture intention. And that likens in real estate. It's like one day you go through the painstaking process of getting ready and you finally pick up the phone and you have those conversations with people you know or people you don't know and then the next three or four days you don't. It doesn't become part of who you are. So you need to figure out a way and do the thing long enough where you get good at it. You can make it fun, you can gamify it and you can make some real money. And real estate is a 60 to 90 day cycle. So I think it's like 90% mindset.
