Most real estate agents fail because they rely on one-off tactics instead of consistent systems. The speaker argues that becoming the go-to listing expert takes 12 to 36 months of continuous value delivery, neighborhood presence, and strong pricing competence.
The beauty of, like, real estate in general is that there's one gazillion agents that all suck. They cannot get any order in anything. They have no systems whatsoever. They'll do a single open house once, they'll do one mailer once for the whole year. And there's no consistency at all for it. And that goes with anything. That's a good thing. The barrier to entry to get into real estate is so low that there are people that have licenses that shouldn't have licenses that live in your neighborhood. And they may one off at the pool. They got chatting with another mom and the mom's moving out of the the market. And that's how business happens in these neighborhoods. But after a year of receiving value from you, you want to list your home with a pro, and you've demonstrated over 12, 24, 36 months that there's no other option that they can go with. At least interview you. I met Susie at the pool. I'm considering her and I'm bringing in Holly, who I've gotten tons of value from. And then that other agent has no listing presentation. They have no pre list packet. They don't know how to price a property. So you just want to be in the running on every listing that goes up.
