Transcript excerpt from a YouTube video discussing how many contact attempts real estate agents should make to convert leads. Speakers argue common practice (1–2 attempts) is far below what research and their systems recommend (around 8–15 attempts), and note many agents give up too early despite lower conversion requiring repeated impressions.
How many contacts should you attempt with each one? Like, is there a point where you just say, I'm done with that? Yeah, I can't mail anymore. I can't. Is it 3, 4, or. Until you get something.
I mean, if you. If you believe what they say in terms of, like, the amount of impressions that people need to do ultimately do business with you, it's way more than we think. It's like 8 to 15 or something. A lot of times we send, like, one or two mailers. We try them a couple times on the phone, and, you know, we're sort of done with them. We had all of our systems set up, you know, for 15 attempts on any number put in our. In our database, whether it's a new buyer lead or an open house, whatever the lead is. That's probably, you know, I don't think you could. I mean, people that don't answer their phone don't answer their phone. So you're probably wasting your time at a certain point. But there's all these, like, lead response studies, and the average, you know, the amount of time it takes to convert someone over the phone is typically like, let's say eight. Eight attempts. And the average number of actual attempts that people do, it's a little over one, you know, so they're not even in the ballpark of what it would take to actually get in touch with somebody.
