A real estate coach argues that reaching the top 1% of agents requires cutting Netflix, social media, and other low-value habits. Only about 1% of agents sold 25 homes last year. One coached agent spent 4 hours daily on Instagram without closing deals, so the coach recommends protecting 90-minute focused work blocks as more valuable than some client meetings.

We are all different people with all different skills. Some of you legit have adhd, so you're going to have to navigate those time blocks in your own way. Maybe it's like I sit down for 25 minutes to try to learn the CRM and then I step away for five minutes. And then the brutal part of this is that if I were to follow you around for two weeks and you said you didn't have time to work on your business for five hours a week, but you've, you have a lot of time that is on social or Netflix or sports or whatever, then you're just lying to yourself. So, so there are, there's a couple angles here. You don't get to do all the comfort things if you're trying to do something that's like totally out of the ordinary. Only 1% of agents even sold 25 homes last year and most of you want to sell 50 or more, you know, so you're trying to do something that, that very few people do and you're going to have to do some things that very few people will do, which includes just getting rid of stuff that's not adding value. So there's two aspects. Mindset, know that that 90 minute time block is even more valuable than a listing appointment and really, really feel that because you're working towards this three year vision. And then just know that if you're spending time on a bunch of stupid stuff. I had a guy, I got to personally coach him. I think he was just going through some really hard stuff personally and he kind of lashed out at our team and I said, give me, give me him, like I'll coach him. And first thing I did was have him open up his iPhone. And we went through where he was spending his time and it was like, no kidding, four hours on average per day on Instagram. And I'm like, you better tell me that you get deals from Instagram. You better tell me that you are like dominating online and DMing buyers and sellers all day long. And he doesn't get any business from social media. So he's just caught up in and his feed. It was not a good thing for a guy to be looking at, looking at a bunch of stuff that has him disconnected in a bunch of different ways. So just be honest with yourself where you're spending your time if you're going to get after it and you want to be the slice of the 1%.
