Why You Need to Dominate Your Day

An entrepreneur argues you need to block your day 8 AM to 6 PM, protect time for lead generation and top projects, and build about 30 business subsystems. Multitasking doesn't work. Success comes from consistent habits and removing phone distractions.
The only way you can dominate your day is by planning it in advance. Whether it's 6 o' clock the night before when you're leaving the office or you know, there's time every day that you'll be able to carve out for this activity. But you have to have some kind of ritual to plan your day. You've got to limit the surprises. You'll build in buffers for deal and office work, but you can't let those activities take over. You've got to commit to. I'm in the office at 8 and my goal is to leave by 6. That's the minimum entrepreneurial workday, 8 to 6. If you're not getting in the office at 8, you've got to start. And I know some of you have commitments to children and all of that, but you can't build an amazing business and lead, lead your team or the team you're building by rolling into work at 9 or 9:30. It's not gonna happen, I'll tell you that right now. There's no other way around it. You've gotta get, you've gotta start grinding it out at 8 o'. Clock. So you have to have an intentional plan of action. It's the only way to avoid getting caught up in reactive mode. And there's a lot of things to react to, but we're too easily swayed by what's in our email and thinking that even an offer on a property, you know, in a lot of markets there's, there's low inventory, a buyer wants to put in an offer. Yeah, I mean I could see that. Right. But you've got to honor that time block, you know, so when you look at your calendar, you've got to honor the time block. If you got to move it 30 minutes, you move it 30 minutes, but you still honor the 90 minutes for lead, lead gen in the morning or whatever your lead gen times look like. And we'll get into top six here. But these are the top six things that must get done no matter what. Your prospecting, your lead, follow up, your systems work. Right. The top three projects. We'll talk about that here in a second. Building out, marketing, systems, networking, going for. No. What are the proactive things that you'll do in your business? Those are the things that go in the top six. If your business and life aren't what you want, it means that you are consistently making choices that don't support your goals and dreams. So you've got to make appointments for everything, for everything, for date night, for time with your kids. But you've got to get everything. Like this could be too easy to not time block because it's not. Doesn't seem like work. But you've got to time block everything. And you just got to have. You got, you've got to know the balance between proactive and reactive, right? You've got to know what's going on. You have to have buffer time for your reactive activities, but you've got to spend most of your time on proactive activities, especially in this program. Think about that. Write down in your notes, proactive versus reactive, especially when it comes to this program. Because we're challenging you. Here's the challenge. We're challenging you to build out 30 things that probably aren't in your business right now. And some of these, like the buyer client acquisition system, the seller client acquisition system, some of these have multiple things that are a part of them. Database and referral, marketing, this is a major one. There's probably sort of six subsystems in here that we'll work on. So these are major things that we're asking you to build out. And if you're not proactive, you're not gonna be able to do it. Multitasking is a myth. You've got a single task, write single task versus multitask. Draw a line through multitask. It is a myth. And I know, I know a lot of you are glued to your phone. You've got to commit to getting your phone out of your hands during your time blocks. If I could have stats on every one of you, how much time you spend. If I had a dashboard, right, the Rebs Time Masters dashboard. And I had every one of your names and the amount of time you spent, you know, sort of in email, on social media, texting, watching tv, and then the amount of time you spent, you know, reading, working out, drinking water, all the things, you know, prospecting, new business development. If I could have that dashboard in real time, it'd be really easy for me to figure out who the people that are going to be successful. No matter where you are at now. And even if you're running a good sized team or just getting started, your habits are what's going to get you successful.
