Lavinia Errico says elevated cortisol comes from emotional stress, not external factors, and pills or saunas won't fix it. Real change requires three things: journaling to find your triggers, learning breathwork and affirmations to respond differently, and setting boundaries to protect yourself.

What I've noticed is everyone's talking about cortisol levels, and then people are recommending all of these things that you can do to get the cortisol to actually come down. All the different supplements you take, different modalities and treatments you can do. But I'm here to tell you I believe it's an inside job. Those cortisol levels are directly correlated to your emotional and your psychological stresses. The three things you really have to do if you don't want to just put a band aid on that is do some deep reflection work, do some journaling, really think about what are the things that cause my emotional triggers, the people, the events really get present to what they are. Then the second thing would be, how can I do better with how I respond around that? And you have to have some tools. That's why I love our move, Joy, because we actually give you tools, breath, work, affirmations that you can actually do. Third thing is you really have to create boundaries for yourself around those triggers. Unfortunately, it isn't just a pill or jumping in an infrared sauna. It takes a little bit of inside work. And you know what? It's worth it.
