Why Most Businesses Stay Stuck—And How to Fix Yours

In this livestream, the Director of Operations and CEO Amanda Northcutt present an update on the first cohort of the MRR Accelerator program and outline the program’s structure, ideal participant profile, and enrollment details for the upcoming second cohort. They explain the step‑by‑step MRR Method, which begins with audits and North Star documentation and progresses through product ladder creation, sales coaching, and group curation, all aimed at building recurring‑revenue businesses that align with a creator’s desired lifestyle. The speakers stress that participants must be subject‑matter experts—typically LinkedIn‑focused professionals with 10‑15 years of experience and follower counts ranging from 3 K to 1.1 M—who can package their expertise for B2B recurring‑revenue models. The program is positioned as a custom, non‑cookie‑cutter experience, using the MRR Method as a flexible framework rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all template. Details for cohort two include a limited five‑spot intake starting in May, a total price of $140,000 ($20,000 per month for seven months), financing options, and a bold MRR performance guarantee that promises continued support until the revenue target is met. The tone throughout is conversational yet persuasive, emphasizing confidence in the methodology, the uniqueness of each business, and the tangible ROI for serious thought‑leaders ready to invest in building a sustainable, lifestyle‑aligned recurring revenue business.

Your school. I am our Director of Operations and Amanda Northcutt is our CEO. Hello and welcome. Today we are talking about all things MRR Accelerator program. We're doing an update and then we're kind of going through the process of what it means to join the program, what we look for, for participants for our program, and kind of all of those details. And so we are so excited to spend a few minutes of your day with you. And if you have any questions at any point in time, please drop them in the chat and we are happy to answer those. If you have not met us yet, there are 2 ways that we help thought leaders like you build rock-solid recurring revenue businesses. The first is Level Up Creators, and this is our done-with-you white glove consulting firm. And this includes our MRR Accelerator program. And the second is Level Up Creator School. And this is where we help a global group of thought leaders build businesses through a done-with-you model. And Creator School includes all of our methodology, all of our consulting team in a way that used to be exclusively reserved for our consulting clients. So hello and welcome. First, let's start by giving an update of where our current first cohort is in their process in our accelerator program.
Yeah. So we are at what, March 25th? Today. The cohort kicked off on January 22. So we are 2 months and 3 days in, and I feel like we've gotten a lot of work done in terms of, we have gotten strategies and product ladders and product development tables delivered to all of our clients. And so, you know, we started with an audit and then did North Star documentation, mission, vision, values, 1-year goals. And so everything that we work on and deliver to our clients gets us one step closer to a day-to-day tactical plan of action in order to bring to fruition the 10-year vision, right? And so it takes a lot of work and intention to design and build a business that someone is going to be happy to run, happy and excited about, like getting up in the bed and getting out of bed in the morning to run and operate and the customers that they want to work with and everything like that. And so it's a very meticulous process. I mean, that's why we have the MRR Method. This is not being done like ad hoc. It's very process-oriented. It's very linear journey. And so we've got all these deliverables, these foundational documents kind of happening in the background. And in the meantime, we're working on, OK, what's in front of each of our MRR Accelerator participants right now? What do they need help with, right? Sales coaching has been a huge thing because selling high-ticket programs is challenging, you know, if you have not done it before, and especially if you have kind of a bad taste in your mouth for, for sales or what your experience of sales has been. Yeah. And truly, there's a totally different way to do it that we teach that it's really just we have solutions for a specific subset of the population, and we are you know trying to assess for a fit, right? And so we don't ever work with clients who are not going to be a good fit because in a recurring revenue business, you have to align your incentives, right? You have to make sure that you are providing recurring value in exchange for the recurring revenue that you're earning, right? Because people will see right through if. The value and outcomes and transformation in your marketing are not actually being delivered in your product or service. So it's kind of this like intricate puzzle that we're piecing together piece by piece, one by one. Again, all to the end of creating a recurring revenue business that each of these creators will love, love their customers, love getting up, love going to work every day. And we're also like kind of walking that line though, again, of sales coaching. How can we help you make money right now? How the parts of your business that we are going to take forward. How can we optimize those while we are sort of rebuilding the foundation of the business?
Yeah. And I think even ending that there, when we start the program, a lot of times people have clunky businesses or maybe they just have an idea. Is somebody walking through the doors with an idea and a little bit of recurring revenue? What is the actual perfect fit for the person, like, joining our cohort? Because obviously, we're not going to take anyone that we don't believe is going to be successful because of our guarantee. We have it in writing. So what do we really look for when we are selecting participants for our cohorts?
Yeah, we're looking for the right ingredients. And so we are looking for subject matter experts, typically whose primary platform is LinkedIn, folks with at least 10 to 15 years of experience. And so if you feel like you have experience, but not expertise, if you've been doing something for 10+ years, You are by definition an expert. So totally lean into that and own it. And some folks have just quit their corporate job and are coming over and wanting to build their own thing. And so in that case, we're looking for what is your subject matter expertise? How can that be packaged up in a B2B environment and deliver value outcomes and transformations to your client on a recurring revenue basis? Like what's the, who's the customer? What can we deliver? What's the product ladder? How do we maximize for customer lifetime value, expansion revenue, referrals? And so we are looking for people, again, subject matter experts who want to build a business based on their expertise, right? And so there's all sorts of different ways to package up your expertise. But if you have the expertise, you have, you know, some kind of a network and the number of followers that our current accelerator cohort have really spans the gamut. I mean, from like 3,000 to 1.1 million. And so, um, there's a lot of like commonalities though, like far more things in common with our current cohort, like each, each individual. not. And so that group curation piece— sorry, I have not had enough coffee this morning. That group curation piece is a really important and big part of the MRR Accelerator. It's not every man for himself or working individually. But this is a 2+ 2= 10 kind of environment. And so the common thing is these are folks who are subject matter experts, experts who were packaging up their expertise, were leveraging their networks, were leveraging their followers, and using the MRR Method to help build the businesses of their dreams. And so we are working toward capturing that magic for round 2 here starting in May. So we will only sell 5 spots. And we do anticipate we'll fill up the second cohort, but trying to recreate the magic of the first.
Yeah. OK. For another thing that we do, and I want to speak more around this, is building businesses in a way that help a creator or a thought leader build a lifestyle. And really, I think what we're doing is building a business around the lifestyle that they're wanting, right? And so I know that we kind of use the phrase of like, hey, you don't want to spend your life chained to your desk. That's not what this is about. Can you speak about the process of helping these creators and thought leaders build businesses in that type of way?
Yes, it's a really important consideration. I mean, that's why I shaped my career the way that I did. I had special considerations outside of work with my chronic health issues. I could not go work full-time with someone. Um, I could not take a CEO job until obviously recently. And so we want to be sensitive to that, that the 9 to 5 thing is just like, it's bullshit. It doesn't work anymore for modern life at all. And so while we acknowledge that business building is hard work, And it does take a lot of time. We're not working with anyone in the accelerator who thinks they're going to make $1 million a year working 10 hours a week, or anything really close. So we're trying to understand, on a really deep, granular level, what is the life that you want to live, and why? And then how can we work backwards from that to reverse engineer it? So most of our cohort members are wanting to work 20 to 40 hours a week, you know, down from 60 or 80. Or for those who are starting from scratch, from like, OK, I am a subject matter expert, expert. I have somewhat of a network, and then we're building from scratch. Um, that's obviously a little bit different scenario, but that also totally works with the MRR method. So, uh, we would be moving up their working hours if that's the case, but still within their, um, lifestyle considerations.
Yeah. And during the cohort, and this is just to like make a kind of like an explanation, all of these businesses are very different. And I know that, but I want to let the people out outside of the program know, like, this isn't just like, hey, we're taking a template to a business and we're applying that to you. Like, these are all custom, like, built businesses from the ground. And so can you speak more to that aspect as well?
Yeah, we are not a cookie cutter shop. The MRR method is like, that's, those are guideposts for us. You know, they're kind of like the tentpoles of the business. And so while we follow a similar process for each to make sure we have all of our We're building the foundation that is scalable or to the end that the creator wants it to be. I hate, I hate this phrase, but there's more than one way to skin a cat, right? Like, or if you're driving from, you know, LA to New York, there's a lot of different ways to get there, right? And so getting from point A, LA, to point B, New York, consider that the MRR method. But there's lots of different ways to get there, and they're all correct and fine, and we'll get you to that end destination. But we want to make sure that we are, yeah, not trying to fit a square peg in a round hole or anything of the sort. And so yeah, the businesses that are actually sort of like being born out of this first cohort of the accelerator— and this will be the same moving forward with future cohorts, cohorts as well, of course— is that, yeah, everybody's strategy and product ladder looks quite different because, I mean, each business is as unique as the person. Everyone has very particular, specific And extremely valid things that they do or do not want to be a part of their business. And so we are honoring too all of that while, of course, staying grounded in reality. Like I said before, you're not going to make at this stage like $1 million a year working 10 hours a week.
Yeah. For the accelerator that's coming up, if somebody is on the verge of, of maybe joining or wanting more information, What would you tell them?
I would say, go take a look at mrraccelerator.com. Like, we have a lot of information on that website. And it is intentionally so, right? This is not something to be taken lightly. This is a massive investment. Like, we're very, very forward about our pricing. The total price is $140,000 USD. That's $20,000 a month times 7 months. And your return on investment is So unbelievably clear, and a number of our participants did some financing, whether that was through friends and family or a traditional small business loan. And I did a little bit of financing as well. So I'm open to that with the right partner for up to you know say 25% of the fee. And so I would not let the price intimidate you because the return on investment is so freaking clear. Our contract is. very equitable. There's no gotchas; there's no tricks. It's very clear: Here's what we're going to do. Here's what you're going to do. And together, here's the outcome we're promising. And if we don't reach that MRR guarantee by the end of the 7-month accelerator, we keep working with you at the same capacity until we do. And also, if it's not the right fit, and we're not going to be able to achieve any sort of MRR guarantee, I'm not going to invite you to participate in the program. And so if you can get your hands on the money, if you are a subject matter expert with at least 10 years of experience, and You're ready to stop playing small and actually run the business of your dreams, and you understand that hard work is required, but that we can build your business in seven months and demonstrate its efficacy and potential for extraordinary success through your MRR guarantee. Why are you not on my calendar already? I mean, like my gosh! People have called me crazy and all sorts of names for this guarantee that we offer, and for good reason. Nobody offers anything like this to my knowledge. At all. This is a bet the business kind of a guarantee, but guess what? The MRR method works. Our team is amazing. Uh, you will not be able to hire a team that is nearly as good as mine. And you don't need my $100,000 a month team to build your business, right? Like you need us for 7 months and potentially for some growth help beyond that, but that's really it.
Yeah. Yep. That's really it. So if you want some more information, I dropped the link right there for you in the chat. Thanks so much for joining our livestream. Be sure to follow us for more tips and insights on building a successful recurring revenue business, and we will see you next week. Bye. Thanks.
