Lisa Murphy explains that confident public speaking comes from inner peace, not techniques like gestures or scripts. When speakers connect with themselves first, they can engage audiences authentically and powerfully.
I've not met many people who have been as invested in self-development and this continuous learning as you. So I just want to highlight that as such a great area of strength.
You know, I was after that feeling of inner freedom. That's what drove it all, drives it still. A little quieter now because I've certainly attained some sense of that now. You know, at first I thought that it would be more outside of themselves. It's out there. What do I do with my hands? What do I say? How do I say it? And it's not. I say public speaking is an inside job. And it was the more inward I go and the more I connect to myself, the more I can connect to other people, to like pretty much everything.
That's powerful because when you, when you connect to yourself, then you can be at peace with yourself and then you can interact with everything outside of you from a place of peace. It's powerful.
