1 Day Out: The Biggest And Leanest I Have Ever Been

Rob Lipsett documents a full day of preparation the day before a bodybuilding competition. He starts with a quick physique check and plans a modest 250 g carb intake, then does light cardio and a bro‑split style pump workout. He visits Blind Eye Barbers for a haircut and shave, shares a shout‑out to Dave at the laundrette, and discusses the pending LF Gymwear order, noting the risk of sample‑quality mismatch. Breakfast consists of steak, eggs, spinach, berries and dark chocolate. Lunch is homemade sweet‑ and white‑potato fries with chicken and veg. Throughout the day he reflects on flexible dieting and open‑minded training, citing Kevin Levrone’s shift away from old‑school bro‑split thinking. He tracks his DHL package, drives to Kilkenny with friend Sarah Ciara Hyland to register for the competition, describes the venue, and notes the competition schedule. The vlog ends with a road‑trip home, singing with Cara, and a high‑energy sign‑off. The tone is informal, upbeat, and motivational, mixing personal routine details with broader mindset commentary.

Yo yo yo, so one day out. I just woke up there and I'm feeling myself. I'm liking how I'm looking. I did a little physique update that I'll put on the screen here. And so yeah, you know, didn't spill over and filled out nicely. Probably gonna add some more carbs today. Again, keeping it modest, maybe about like 250 grams. Yeah, nothing drastic. I'm gonna go down and do some light cardio now. As you saw in the last video, you know, my training this week has just been like pretty much a bro split, just some like pump work to get glycogen in the muscle. So it'll be like the same again today. And then I got— I am looking so scruffy right now, that's just unacceptable. So then at 11:00 AM now, I'm going into Blind Eye Barbers on George Street. Then I'm just gonna do some like work on my emails, and then LF Gymwear is meant to be coming in today. It's gonna be like a moment of truth because like you can get completely screwed over with, like, you know, you order, you get a sample, and like the sample is awesome, so you order 30 of them bitches or whatever it is, and then it's not— the quality isn't the same as the sample. So we'll see. I'll bring you along my day. Let's get going. Good morning, happy Friday, let's do it. So just picked up a few bits and bobs in center there. I'm probably gonna have steak and eggs, pretty usual breakfast for me, with some veg, some spinach, and then for dessert maybe some berries and dark chocolate. We'll see. Dessert at breakfast, am I, am I, am I doing this? All right, so what are we getting done here? We're getting a raw faded into a 1, pinning out the top, and you just do your thing. But remember, this is on you. This is win or lose the competition, you know. If you do a bad job here, it's your fault. I'm only joking. All right. So I just get out of the Barber's there, right? I get back to my car and look what I find. Good luck tomorrow, Rob. Dave in the laundrette. I love this city. Seriously though, that, that's just made my day. So little things like that. So shout out to Dave in the laundrette. Oh my god, unbelievable. Not to mention a great haircut too. Yo, stuff like that makes me an absolute patriot. You know, I'll definitely probably live somewhere else for a while. Maybe I'll live in America for a while, but my heart will always be in Dublin City. Oh yeah, feeling hella clean. So just back from Blind Eye, and I also had a shave. But yeah, no, I'm, I'm feeling tight, ready to go. So I'm gonna make a quick lunch, and then I'm gonna head down for like a really light upper body session, maybe even make it full body. Then I'm gonna do some light cardio, take it easy, you know how it is. I'm I'm like 24 hours out, trying to keep my cool, but, um, no, I actually can't wait for it, to be honest. So yeah, 24 hours out, going down, light session now, and then I've got to drive to the venue tonight to register. Thank God it's only like an hour away, because last year it was on in Limerick. I'd like book a hotel, I had to like stay down there, and like, you just, you know, it's, it's nice being able to get ready from home and stuff like that. So That's going to take a lot of stress off. So that is the plan for today. Let's get to it. So lunch is going to be some homemade fries that is a mix of sweet potato and white potato. Then just got some chicken breasts and vegetables going on here too. Super easy. Another thing I'm going down to the gym for to practice is my posing so I can be as good as that guy. Oh wow, look at this beautiful day! Sun's got me feeling some type of way. Just saw an epic Instagram post that was reposted by The Online Coach. I'll just put up on the screen. And it's basically just Kevin Levrone, who is, you know, a very old-school bodybuilder. He's one of the greats, and he's just saying how he's ditched his old-school way of thinking in terms of training and nutrition. He's adopted flexible dieting, hitting, you know, not training a bro split. It's just so refreshing to see an open mind in the industry. Like, so many people are married to to this one approach, especially if they got results with it. They think there's no other way. And that is a bad way to be. You should be as open-minded as possible, and you should admit when you're wrong. Because if you don't admit when you're wrong, how are you ever going to learn? How are you ever going to progress? Like, I remember like years ago, you know, I used to sleep with a protein shake beside my bed so I could have fast-acting protein the second I wake up. In the morning, and I thought this was the way. Excuse the pun. And like, there are tons of things that I used to think that weren't true, and you gotta admit when you're wrong. You're never gonna learn. So shout out to Kevin Levrone. That is just a super cool post from him. Put it on the screen if you want to read it. Really refreshing. So yeah, it's a little cardio chat for you guys. Just gonna knock out 300 calories here, taking it easy. As you see, scrolling through Instagram, reading a few posts, a few articles. We're chilling, we're chilling. And that goes for anything, not just fitness, like anything in life. Always be wanting to try new experiences, be open to new stuff. Life's for living. Woo! I'm on that cardio high. So I got about 5 minutes left or so, I'm gonna head upstairs, get ready for Kilkenny, bit of a road trip. Alright, so I'm just gonna hit the command center for a while. The LF order, I'm tracking it in DHL here. It did not arrive today. Whatever, it's grand. It's a pretty big package, so it's probably gonna take longer than expected. And you know, there's probably gonna be a lot of boxes, so they— I don't really expect them to just drop it off in my apartment. I'll probably have to go to DHL, collect it. Anyways, look, doesn't matter. I'm about to just get like a snack in or something. And then gonna head down to Kilkenny to register. It's gonna be fun seeing all the other competitors, seeing like what type of mood everyone's in. I'm driving down with a friend of me and Sarah, Ciara Hyland, and she's competing as well. So, you know, it'll be just fun to talk about tomorrow with her. Alright, so registration done. The venue is really cool. It's a big venue. It's nice and spacious. So I'm pumped. I'm ready to go. Uh, now all we do is play the waiting game. What are we like, 16 hours out? Let's go! It's the running order. The 174, 355. Okay, okay. Yeah, all right, okay. So, all right, 355. Awesome. Like, this is going to be running late because there's no way 6:45, 7:15 for 27 people. You're gonna be going on an all-nighter. Beautiful fucking evening, so I decided I'd finish up this vlog here. So me and Cara, we're gonna just sing a few songs on a road trip home. But anyway, so finish up this vlog here. Show day tomorrow, let's fucking go. Thank you for watching, keep it real, I'm out. 77. 7's meant to be a lucky number, so I got 2 of them.
