Back To Square One

Rob Lipsett moved back into his family's house after not renewing his Dublin lease, and he's traveling to Germany and the UK in April for expos and a shoot. He reflects on how setbacks give meaning to highs, and shares time with family between his busy schedule.

Did you like that transition? One minute we're in Australia, then they're on the plane, and then we're in Dublin, and it's a drone, and it's like zooming in on the car, and now we're in the car. I'm basically Steven Spielberg. So I'm home from Australia. I didn't vlog much the last 3 days because expos are very hard to vlog around. So I went to the gym in the morning, expo 12 to 6, and then usually just went for like a team dinner and then went to sleep afterwards. Um, so there's really not much to vlog unless you've got like a videographer helping you cover the expo, because you want to meet everyone, give everyone 100%. Comment down below anyone who met me at the expo. So far I've been reading some really nice comments. Then on Sunday night, after the expo was all done, uh, there was like a big expo night out, and they are always so much fun. People who watch my Instagram stories, they will know it was a good night. So in this video, going to go in, hit a push workout, and then give you guys a bit of a life update, what's going on, what's up next for myself. And so yeah, sit back, relax, enjoy the video. I must have also brought the good weather back to Dublin because it is An absolute scorcher of a day. Alright, so my workout was cut short because I'm already 15 minutes late for a kind of rehearsal or public speaking coaching with the kind of TED Talk, TEDx crew. You guys are quick to remind me it's a TEDx. Um, but yeah, I've got to go to Griffith College for that now. So yeah, I don't even have like a change of clothes or anything. I'm just gonna rock up in a stringer and hope for the best. Even though, right, it's— I'm used to speaking for an hour, like that's how long my public speaking seminars usually are. This is only for 10 minutes, so should be okay. So I'm here now in Griffith College and there's quite a few people around like hanging out in the grass and stuff. Uh, so I don't like attract too much attention, I'm gonna put on this hoodie even though it's roasting. For college drop I spent a lot of time in colleges, but this campus is actually really nice. It's like kind of got like a bit of a castle vibe to it. Okay, in I go. Alright people, so that rehearsal is over. The day is coming to an end. I'm just winding down now. I am gonna go for dinner with the fellas in a little bit because it's Saturday night. That's what I like to do my weekends, get some nice eat. So I decided I should I should give you guys a life update. That's what you're asking for. You're probably wondering, where am I living now that I'm back from Australia? What's my plan? Where am I going to next? And so basically, my lease ended the day I went to Australia, so I decided not to renew it. I spoke about why a couple videos ago. Uh, it was just like there was no need for me to live there, like it was too big, and I just wanted to change, break the routine a little bit. So now I'm back to where it all began. Now OG subscribers will know that I don't really have a family home per se. All my family are kind of grown up. I'm the youngest by far. So our family home, we just rent it out to other people. We rent all the rooms out. So it's kind of like a B&B accommodation sort of thing. And that's where I lived when I first started my channel, and that's where I'm back to now. So all I can do is laugh, to be honest, because 1 or 2 years ago, before I moved into the last apartment that you guys know well, I felt like I was stuck there, stuck at home, because I couldn't afford to move out. Now I'm here by choice. You know, I can— I'm looking at a few apartments right now, so I'm just kind of staying here until I choose a place. Also, this is kind of a big factor as well. For April, I'm going to Germany to the FIBO Expo, but I'm going Germany for a week, and then a couple days later I'm going to the UK for 10 days. I gotta shoot the new Myprotein clothing line, and then I'm also going to an expo, and then I'm just hanging around and doing some YouTube stuff. So for the majority of April, I actually won't be in Ireland, so there's not really much point in me taking out rent or getting a place until May, but we'll see. So yeah, that's where I'm currently at. I'm currently back at home, but there's a part of me that loves it. Like, there's a weird part of me that loves a bit of a setback, a bit of stress, because it adds narrative to the story. It adds a bit of depth, you know. Everything just can't all be perfect the whole time. Not to mention, the good times don't feel like good times without some not-so-good times. The highs don't feel like highs without some lows. But the main thing is you gotta embrace those lows, learn from them, and just laugh it off. So yeah, back to square one, back to where it all started. That's probably what I'm gonna title this video. And, uh, yeah, I don't know why, it just kind of like makes me laugh. Not to mention, for like the whole 2016, I hardly saw my family. So I'm actually like really happy to be seeing my mom a little bit more and spending more time with my sisters and everything. So yeah, nostalgic feeling. All we're missing is George the cat, and OG subscribers will remember him, but only very, very OG. RIP George. So gonna chill out for a bit, then we're gonna hit the road, and I think we're all getting burgers. I'm gonna be the burger connoisseur, so we're gonna like rate these burgers. Last week was Melbourne, Metro Burger was very good. This stuff Looks good. Nice bit of, bit of char grill on the corner. I like it. Sweet potato fries, assassinade. Yeah, it's a big— look at Will trying to get in, trying to get on that YouTube. All right, we got to test today. Got a Land Rover. Remember, this, this channel is about fitness, food. Oh wow, oh wow, I was not expecting it to be that Very good. Very good. Tamagon. Time to enjoy. Okay, so me and my friends, we are real manly men at Manly Men, and we're not afraid to order some flamboyant cocktails after our dinner. Tastes like a fruit juice. Let's be honest, that's way better than a beer. Alright, wrapping this vlog up here. I'll catch you in the next one. Keep it real.
