Fitness Couples Q&A: Fighting, Reality TV, Competing Together

Rob Lipsett and his partner Sarah host a casual, unscripted Q&A where they answer around 30 audience‑submitted questions covering their relationship timeline, daily life quirks, fitness coaching dynamics, future business ambitions, media aspirations, and personal philosophies. They discuss how they met, their plans for reality TV, favorite non‑fitness YouTubers, how they manage diet and training together, the challenges of being perceived as "lazy" by older family members, their individual entrepreneurial projects (Rob’s YouTube/gym ideas, Sarah’s personal training certification and potential clothing line), and the advice that shaped them. The video blends humor, candid anecdotes, and supportive dialogue, ending with a reminder that the second half of the Q&A is on Sarah’s channel.

Oh, see, look, you got it.
I'm shocked out now. I'm shocked out. Hold on. Oh God, don't zoom on the tits.
Am I there?
Perfect. Side eyes.
How's my hair? No, no, no, do my hair. Stop. No, no, no, stop. No, seriously, just actually tell me if my hair is all right.
Hello, hair.
Oh no way. All right everyone, what is going on? So we are doing another fitness couples Q&A. We really do not do these regularly.
Enough.
This is like a very fun video for us to do.
We're excited, we're both a bit hyper today.
Yeah, yeah, we're both in a good mood.
But so we got these questions from Snapchat, got them from loads of places, my YouTube channel, Snapchat, both of our Snapchats.
So we're gonna do like about 15 questions each. We're gonna put half the Q&A on this channel, my channel, and then half the Q&A on Sarah's channel. First, subscribe! First link in the description box. So right, let's just crack on.
Let's do it.
So we were gonna like prepare some answers, but like we got reading them, we're like, look, it's way better if we just answer off the top of our head. It's way more real and natural. So right, let's go. Okay.
Let's do it.
Question 1: At what age did you know that this was going to be a serious relationship? Um, basically 6 months ago when we moved in with each other, I was kind of like, there's no getting out of it now.
I will be honest, and I'd say a lot of girls are pretty similar, and say that about a month into our relationship I was already planning the weddings. What is your favorite exercise to watch Sarah do?
Kneeling squats or hip thrusts. Have you considered reality TV?
Yeah, we've spoken about it.
We've spoken about it, like if it was like kind of classy and like they promised they wouldn't like present us in a bad light, then yeah, we'd do it.
So any TV shows out there wanna turn it into a reality TV show, I think it could be funny.
You're welcome to come live with us. Was Sarah hard to graft? Um, yes. Yeah, yeah, the first time I met her I got turned down and then I had to like keep— I was like drunk and just a bit of a pest. And like I got her number and like I was drunk dialing her and stuff and she kept saying no, but I was persistent and eventually I got her.
Eventually I gave in. Do we fight over the duvet? Every night.
Yeah, every night, but I'm like a very warm person, so sometimes I just give up and sleep on the covers. Who's your favorite non-fitness YouTuber? For me, it's definitely Casey Neistat. I've like a total man crush on the dude. He like daily vlogs, he owns his own app, very successful. He is like goals. I really like him. I think he's just easy to listen to.
Funny that you say someone who daily vlogs. I think that is like such a good way to really like grow your channel. Yeah, but, uh, anyway, so my favorite person, actually it's a family, the Saccones. So they're like an Irish family that live over in London and they've got like 2 kids. They vlog daily, so I've become very invested in their life.
Yeah, like there was a stage in my prep leading up to my competition where I did daily vlogs and it really helps your channel out.
How much influence does Rob have over your macros and training? I feel having a boyfriend as a coach would be helpful, but I wouldn't like being told how to do things by my partner.
That's a good question.
That is a good question. So obviously, like, Rob is an online coach and is very knowledgeable in that area, but I'm a typical stubborn girl and I don't really like being told what to do. So I think you'd say how it works is I always come up with my macros and my training plan. And then I end up kind of going to Rob and being like, is this okay? Like, should I— yeah, should I make any changes to it or whatever? But, um, yeah, I kind of, I kind of like to do my own thing.
Yeah, we're saying if Sarah ever like competes, you know, never say never, like I would recommend her to get another coach.
Oh God, yeah, 100%.
Because like if she— I'd be like, okay, time to lower carbs. She'd just be like, okay, no. You really need to go to someone that you take Very seriously.
Yeah, already fine enough as it is. Yeah.
What are your business plans for the future? Um, like, you know, we've always— we've got so much business plans. We always talk about ideas. We're with each other all day, so, you know, we always talk about this, but it all just stems back from growing our YouTube channels and growing our social medias. Like, if you want to open up a restaurant or a gym, open and launch an ebook, a book, whatever, if you have a large audience, you automatically have customers when you do it. So I really think the easy answer is just keep growing our, you know, viewers and the whole kind of couples thing. Like, companies really like that as well, so, you know, we get to work with cool companies. But yeah, I guess that's the easy answer.
Also, we've kind of decided that, you know, I've been working for Rob for a while now, but I really want to kind of stem off and start doing my own thing. So I am currently doing an online personal training course, and I'm hoping that in the new year I will be taking on clients myself. I'm also starting my own website and everything. So yeah, we are doing things together, but we're also kind of trying to go in our own like separate directions.
I really want Sarah to be her own person as well.
Like, yeah, and I kind of think in the future as well, we also both have our own like business ideas. I know opening a gym is something that Rob would absolutely love to do, or opening a restaurant, whereas for me, I would love to maybe start my own like bikini line or clothing line or something like that. So We're, you know, we're always going to work together, but, um, and always support each other. Always support each other.
I was gonna go for a kiss on the face, but I bet you didn't want to ruin your makeup.
Oh no, no.
See that? She gave me the cold shoulder. This is bullshit right there. How do your friends feel about your lifestyle, and do you find it frustrating when people don't understand about your YouTube and clothing business? Um, my friends are really supportive of it, and I think now they kind of understand. When people don't understand, yeah, like my family are they don't get it, like, because they're all kind of older, um, so they don't really understand. Yes, it's very frustrating. Like, I used to work like an office 9 to 6, and I make way, way more than I ever would doing that. But because it's not— it's not a formal job, my parents think I do nothing. A lot of times people think we do fuck off for a living.
Like someone said on your YouTube, someone commented underneath my YouTube today being like, do you just go to the gym to make a living? And all this, like It is kind of annoying because it may look like that from YouTube or Snapchat or promotions and sponsorships.
There's so much.
Like, my family actually are like really understanding because obviously when I decided to go into this kind of lifestyle instead of being a teacher, I really had to like sit my mom down and like, you know, my mom is like in her 50s— sorry, Mom— for her to really understand all of this. I'm actually so proud of her. Like, it's hilarious. She literally, like, she got Snapchat, she got Instagram, and like, she knows everyone in the fitness industry. Like, I just have to say someone's name and she's like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I was watching their video the other day. But she really gets it now, and she can actually like advise me on like business opportunities, and she really helps me with like contracts and stuff. How do you balance date nights and staying on track with your diet? We just make sensible choices, I'd say.
Yeah, or if we know we're going out for dinner, we'll just eat a little less calories during the day. Like, it's no secret, you know, like, I know, it's not magic.
Yeah.
What was your dream job as a kid? Um, mine was to be like a commando because my dad was in the military, and I actually did go to join the army and like I passed all the tests, but my Leaving Cert results weren't high enough. Uh, I got first in the fitness one though, maybe that's saying something. But yeah, that's all I wanted to do.
I used to be obsessed obsessed with Britney Spears to the point that like my entire bedroom walls were covered in Britney Spears posters. And I genuinely thought up until the age of about 8 that like I was going to be the next Britney Spears, and I can't even sing.
Maybe you can be like the Britney Spears of the gym. How do you feel about fitness YouTubers not interacting with fans? I think, I think it's pointless because I think that's the whole thing with YouTube is that it's kind of like watching TV, but you can comment down below and people will the, the person you're watching will read it and take that feedback on. So yeah, I, I think kind of takes away the whole point of YouTube.
I think most fitness YouTubers though are more than happy to interact with people.
So yeah, no, absolutely. Like everyone that I've talked to loves expos and everything. Like you get to meet the people who watch your videos. Like it honestly feels really good. Best advice you were ever given and why? Like, you know, obviously it's hard to give like your best advice in one sentence, but as cliché and corny as as it sounds, honestly find a passion and go hard on it. You know, you've probably heard that 100 times before and it's true.
Not even advice, but something I've just realized myself is at the end of the day, your happiness is far more important than anything else. If you're not happy doing what you're doing, like, what is the point?
Yeah, so what is life?
Yeah, seriously, like, if you are not happy with your everyday life, like Do something about it. So now I, I know it seems selfish, and I used to think that so much. I used to think, oh no, I have to go and do my degree to make everyone else happy.
But like, yeah, you've actually got a bit of a story. Maybe we'll go into that.
Yeah, yeah. But if, if you're not happy, what is the point?
All right, so that was about 15 or 16 questions each. The other half of the Q&A is going to be on Sarah's channel, so I'll see you all over there.
I don't know. Okay, say it again and I'll be like, did you just go—
okay, can I leave that in?
Yeah.
All right, keep it real. See you on Sarah's channel. We're out here.
