Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone | BodyPower Prep Ep.4

In this vlog, Rob Lipsett walks viewers through a typical day on a cutting phase, starting with a lean breakfast and a quick morning routine. He explains his macro‑adjustment philosophy—maintaining calories while progress continues and only tweaking carbs or fats when stalls occur—while sharing his personal preference for lower dietary fat and moderate carbs to preserve gym performance. He highlights the importance of rapid glycogen replenishment after a first workout when training twice a day, detailing his post‑workout shake (kale, banana, almond milk, whey isolate, mocha flavor, creatine, fish oil, vitamin D) and the rationale behind it. The episode includes a boxing‑conditioning session at a friend’s gym to break routine monotony, and Rob offers vlogging tips about embracing public filming. He also shows a simple chicken‑seasoning method, mentions cost‑saving grocery brand Oegg, and reflects on his personal brand evolution toward “Lipsett 2.0,” encouraging viewers to love the content‑creation process and pursue holistic self‑improvement.

What is going on? Welcome to another episode of Life with Lipsetti. But, uh, so I had a nice productive morning, you know, haircut, got a few emails done, and I'm just about to get my breakfast going on here. So let's get this episode rolling, show you what I got cooking. So just got some veggies going on, a really lean beef burger, and 2 fried eggs. Still on that kind of saving my carbs for the evening hype. Alright, so just before I dig into this, I'm gonna run you through my day a little bit. Cardio's gonna be a bit different today. A friend of mine owns kind of like a boxing gym, and you know, he's offered me to say, hey, you know, do you wanna change up your training a little bit, stop things from getting dull, come down, we teach you how to do a bit of boxing, and also put me through kind of a conditioning session. So I was like, oh, hell yeah, you know, I love get out of my comfort zone. So I'm going to record that today. It'll also be good content for you guys to see somewhere different, see me do different type of training and just see how we get on in general. So I'm going to eat this now, get ready for the day. I'm actually training legs again today. You're probably like, I'm not going to record it cause you're probably like, oh great, you know, another leg session. It's cause my routine goes legs, push, pull, legs, push, pull. So if I record like every 2 to 3 days, you're going to see the same session again. So, you know, there's no real point in me showing it. I'm just gonna get a session in without the camera. But right, I'm gonna eat this and then I'll also answer a few emails on camera as well. So catch you in the next clip. The moment you wake up, get hydrated. A question that I kept on getting on a couple of videos and even in emails and inboxes and stuff like that is, Rob, how are you gonna change your macros on this cut? How are you gonna update them as time goes on? And Basically, the main thing you need to keep in mind here is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you're still seeing progress, don't change a thing. Some people are like, oh, are you going to drop carbs or do all this? And it's like, no, why would I have myself eating less when I'm still making progress? The only time you need to make up some changes, you need to update your plan, is when progress stalls. What's the point in having you eating less when you're still making progress? You're only The lower your calories go, the more risk you put yourself in of losing muscle or strength in the gym. It's funny, um, with clients as well, like, they're checking in every week and they're seeing progress. Their lifts are either maintaining or increasing, and they're like, "Oh, are you gonna change my macros this week?" And I'm like, "No, unless you want to eat less for no reason." And they get kind of disappointed, but it's like, it would be bad coaching on my behalf to lower their macros just for the crack. Like literally for no reason. And when I do change my macros, it will be lowering them in the form of either carbs or fats. Some people say you should just lower carbs, but this is when you have to kind of take into account what does your body respond to better. Like, I find that I've tried a high-fat, low-carb diet, you know, I've tried all, every single type of ratio, and I've found that higher fats just doesn't really do much for me. But yet when I keep my carbs higher, that my gym performance stays really good. So I found for myself that, hey, I should lower fats a little bit down. I also don't find them as satiating, you know, satisfying. So I choose to lower fats a little bit and carbs a little bit too. But some people, when they go low fat, they feel like complete shit. So then in that case, you should keep fat where it is and lower carbs. So play around with a couple of things, and it really comes down to personal preference. So to wrap things up, if you're still seeing progress, do not change a thing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it really does apply in this scenario. So hope you found that helpful if anyone is on their cut at the moment. So that's today's little kind of email talk in place of the cardio chat. So time to get on with the rest of the day. I think I'm gonna go for one of these for pre-workout today. I think I'm the only YouTuber in the YouTube fitness community that gets hooked up by Monster Energy with free cans of Monster. Ain't nobody else got that going on. That's, that's my claim fame. I love when I come outside the gym, I got the best parking space in the whole place. Don't mind me just talking to a camera like an absolute weirdo. Yeah, see you, bro. Tips for any YouTubers out there: the sooner you stop giving a fuck about vlogging in public, the better. Just embrace the weirdness and, uh, you'll get better confidence on camera. And you'll just give out better content. So when anyone sees me vlogging in public, I'm just like, yep, this is, this is me. All right, my friends, so usual post-workout shake. We got kale, banana, almond milk, whey isolate. I'm gonna add some mocha flavor drops because I love kind of coffee mocha flavor. Then creatine, fish oils, and vitamin D. Obviously not putting them in the shake, just taking them with it. And now this shake, this post-workout shake, is more important than usual, and let me tell you why. Oh, that shake was good. I'm actually gonna have some rice cakes as well, maybe watching YouTube, do some more emails. But anyways, why was that post-workout shake more important than usual? And it's actually really easy to explain, and the reason for that is because I have 2 training sessions today. And when you have 2 training sessions a day, post-workout glycogen replenishment becomes much more important. And let me tell you why. Let's take a typical example of, I'd say, 90% of people watching these videos who train a typical bodybuilding style training once per day. They hit the gym once per day. Most days I just hit the gym once per day too. So you hit the gym and then you're not going to be going to the gym for another 24 hours. So you wait 3 hours to replenish your glycogen, 4 hours, your glycogen will just get replenished then. It's still got 20 hours before your next session, so that's why it's not that important. But if you are an athlete who does, say, a morning session, uh, such as a morning weight session and then a pitch session in the evening, you want to replenish your glycogen ASAP after that first session so you're ready to go again for that second session. So when you have 2-day training like me today, post-workout glycogen replenishment becomes much more important. If you just train once per day and then you don't have a training session for another 24 hours, which I would say is the vast, vast majority of viewers, then don't worry about it so much. You know, don't be running to the changing rooms to get in like a banana or rice cakes or something. Just eat when you go home or something, because like I said, you're not training for another day. So that's just a really quick explanation of why I said that post-workout shake is more important, because it is 20 to 2 now and I have that boxing session at 3 o'clock. So I'm gonna get these into me for some more carbs, and then come 3 o'clock I should be ready to go. Getting to shoot the Oscars in 360 was amazing! Come on, could you have imagined me skating down the aisle? I just love Casey Neistat. If I could get my vlogs even half as entertaining as his, I'd be doing great. So just thought I'd quickly show you guys what I do to season my chicken. So we've got chopped garlic, black pepper, and hot chili powder, and also a bit of hot sauce. And I'll just put it in a plastic container like this and shake it around. And there you go. I'll just kind of let that marinate for a few hours and have it later after the gym. Package from these guys. Shout out to Oegg for keeping my grocery bill down. Egg whites are just so handy when you're cutting. You can make these like huge omelets. It's pure protein. All right, threw on some shorts, um, for boxing. So, so I'm gonna head on and give this a go. All right, let's do this. Hey, great to see you, man. Let's do this. Got new gloves, bought them yesterday, so you're gonna be fresh. Hey lads, what's the story? It's cracking. This is what's on the cards today. We got the warm-up, 15 minutes boxing technique, that could go 15 to 30 minutes, uh, fitness, and then the core test. They won't tell me what it is, but apparently I'm in for a treat, so let's go. Listen! Listen! So just got home there and I am feeling good. One thing that a lot of us are guilty of in the industry, including myself, is it's called the fitness industry, but we may look good, but we're not actually fit, you know, we're not actually physically fit. So you probably noticed that these days I'm really working on that, you know. I want to be the fittest, healthiest, sexiest most jacked Rob Lipsett that I can be. I wanna be Lipsett 2.0. And hopefully these videos inspire you to improve aspects of your life as well, as much aspects in your life as possible. I also hope you're enjoying these videos because I'm really enjoying making them. Like right now, I'm just, I'm just loving making videos. And that's kind of another thing. If anyone ever wants to become a YouTuber, you gotta love the process. You know, you're not gonna build up a big channel overnight. You're probably not even going I wouldn't do it over the course of a year. So like, you gotta love the process. You gotta love recording. You gotta love doing stuff. And you gotta love editing. Like, I actually do like editing. The process can take a while, but when you're finished it, I love looking at it and be like, that's a nice piece of work I just did. So I'm gonna wrap this video up here. Thanks so much for watching. Lovin', just lovin' the YouTube these days. So, uh, thanks. I'll see you next episode. Keep it real.
