What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the channel. Life has been crazy last couple of weeks. So what have we been up to before this? Okay, we went from Marbella to Mykonos where we're on a fitness retreat creating some epic content. And now after Mykonos we flew straight to London because basically there's no flights from Mykonos to Malaga, so we had to go through London anyway. So I was like, might as well spend a few days there, catch up, do some business meetings. I say like business meetings, I'm like hitting the gym and eating brunch. It's been a really good trip, really productive, you know, especially Mick and I, we're working out loads. I got some amazing footage, some great times. In London, this is our last day, so I was like, we've been doing so much, I'm like, I need to pick up a camera and talk to you guys. So basically we're staying in Kensington, just down the road from our old place where we lived last year, and like it's brought back so many memories. I miss London so much. Um, but so we're staying in a place called the Crandie Hotel. We got a little upgrade. So first of all, right, different scenes to Marbella, you know, like a little bit more damp looking, but I still kind of love it in a way. This is the outside area. So we'll come in. Anyways, the room's a complete mess. This is the living room, a little workspace there. This is the bedroom. We slept for 12 hours last night. It was Unbelievable. Like, I'm getting to the age where like, that's my buzz now. I'm like a 12-hour sleep, I'm like sick. So then in here, left the toilet seat up, of course. Wasn't me. Then we got the bathroom anyways. So the plan for today is we are going east, 'cause we haven't been east yet, and east is very cool and hip, and we're going to Body Works gym, or Muscle Works, that's what it's called, which is one of my favorite kind of old school gyms. We're gonna hit a session there, then I got a Fuel Cakes meeting, Just kind of out beside it in Dalston. 'Cause Feel Cake's actually based out of London. We're planning on bringing the kind of base of operations over to Ireland because of Brexit. Brexit sucks. Sorry to anyone who voted Brexit. Breakfast.
I vote breakfast.
I vote breakfast. Well, breakfast has my vote. Sorry to anyone who voted Brexit. I think it sucks. So we're planning on moving the operations over, but for now it's based out of London. So we're having a little team meeting, just a little update. It's crazy, like the company is, still in its first year, and like, I need to be a bit more patient with it. I'm always like, let's move. But anyways, so we got a meeting, and then we're gonna kind of pack up, get ready, and then we've got a fancy dinner at Park Chinois.
It's Chinese food, and we've been dying for a drink.
We've been dying for a chinker. That's how we're Irish, we call Chinese food. And then we're gonna wrap up. I got my flight tomorrow, which I'm yet to still book. My God, lot to do. Right, let's get it started. Let's have a great day. Give the video a thumbs up. Subscribe if you haven't. Click the red button. It's like right here or here. So some people wake up in the mornings and put on like a suit, shirt, tie, and they like carry a briefcase to work. Me, it's like vintage Nike t-shirt, Alphalete shorts, runners, and a backpack. That's it. And I love it. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. So now we're gonna walk to our favorite coffee place in all of London. I really do think it's the best coffee in London.
It is. We've had it every morning we've been here.
And like, this isn't a collab. Like, we pay for every single coffee. I think they've given us a free coffee once. And we were like, thank you! So update on the IG. Lots of coffee, big gym sesh, recording some bits, Fuel Case meeting. Sounds like a good Monday. Geotag London. Breakfast of champions. It is a protein bar. Looks very good. I'm going to peel this off. Look at that, kind of like melted a little bit. Mmm, skinny cappuccino, protein bar. Oh, we are about to go into Earl's Court station, which in my opinion is the best tube station in all of London. It just seems to go everywhere. You know, you don't have to wear masks on anymore either. So good, I can breathe.
So explaining the tube to Rob. We go from Earl's Court to Green Park, and then from Green Park straight to Tottenham Hill, and we walk. So we'll switch over at Green Park to Victoria Line.
There you go, everyone. You learn about fitness here, food, nutrition, business, and now the tube as well. It's got it all. It's right, we do a little Apple Pay job, and let's go. Here it is. Look at that, look at that lineup, just 3 fresh boxes there. Oh, it's a beautiful sight. That is crazy. So we're united over the love of fuel cakes right here.
Shout out to Rob, he just saved my life for 8 months when I was in Sweden. This saved my life. I wake up at 6 in the morning, this banging all the time. Look at this, man, saved my life.
Look, you have gone like this at the end of your life.
Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for saying hello, man. Thank you so much. That has just got me in the best mood ever to start my session. Let's go! We're back in one of my favorite gyms. This is Muscle Works out near, I think, Bethnal Green, Valence Road.
It's near Shoreditch.
Near Shoreditch. Anyways, right, so it's east. The meeting with Fuelcakes went amazing. I'll do a proper update later on. Right now we're in the gym, so the most important part of the day for me is hitting the gym. It's when I disconnect and focus in. So we're going to hit some back today. I'm very excited. Let's get it! So I'm I'm there, you know, living in, I couldn't even call my family on it because it was rented out to loads of people. So it was like a hostel, student accommodation thing. So there'd be loads of different people in the house and I'm there trying to make videos without someone walking into the kitchen. But I managed to get some good time anyways. And I said, you know, I'm gonna make a little how to make protein pancake videos just for my clients, for people to watch, anyone who looked it up. And it was the first video to ever get, I think, a couple of million views. It could be on now, over a million anyways. And so when I was making this pancake company, I was like, oh, it's sentimental to me. I was like, I kind of love this because it's like these protein pancakes, they've got me through a lot of boring diets. So it's great. That's where like the original inspiration came from. So it's like when you do want to build a product or a service, you just answer a question that gets asked to you every day. They're, hey Rob, how do you make good protein pancakes? I got a nice little mix here for you now, fuelcakes.com. So that's it. And even when I started online coaching, I just say to people, I was getting asked so much for training and nutrition plans, so I got, oh, there's a job here for me.
Yeah.
And because I obviously used to work, you know, in an office, I worked in a spa when I was growing up during college before I dropped out. And you know, I had 100 different jobs, but this is like something that I've always loved to do. I still love doing it. And so if someone's trying to come up with a business idea, just think, what is it? A solution that you can come up with to a problem you see every day.
How did you know it was time to go on your own?
Yeah, so I call it the magic number theory. When you're working full-time, no one ever has their dream job from the get-go. Okay, so when you're working your full-time job, you know, your day job, whatever it is, you have your salary per month. Okay. And I recommend people starting a side hustle on the side. So I was working 9 to 6, so between 6 and 7 I'd commute home, I drive home, I have dinner with my family. 7 to 8, I'd hit the gym, and then I get home at about maybe half 9, and then from half 9 to about 2 AM, I'm working on my fitness business. Okay, you know, so I sell merch, online coaching, I was writing ebooks, all that jazz. And then, you know, 2 AM to 7 AM, I'd sleep, and then I'd get up and go to work. And as soon as the side gig is making more than the main gig, then it's safe to go. So once you hit that magic number, okay, so I think it was minimum wage in Ireland a few years ago, it was like, it was like 1,800 quid a month. So when I made 2 months in a row or 3 months even, I made more than 1,800 quid from fitness. I was like, that's the magic number, baby, it's time to go. So the first entrepreneurial thing I ever did was sell an ebook online for, I think it was 20 quid. So that was it. Then I started doing online coaching, um, one-on-one via emails. Okay. And then, uh, YouTube and YouTube sponsors started coming in. So a brand contacts you, they say, hey, you know, your videos are getting good views, we'll pay you £1,000 to do, um, like a review mid-video on this product. And I was like, what? I was like, wait. I was like, You're gonna send me the product and pay me?
Was that weird at the start? Were you kind of going, I don't know how much to charge here?
Oh, exactly. I think I asked like Suzanne Jackson.
Okay.
I was like, how much would you charge and all this? I had no clue how to do it. Again, she's another powerhouse, you know, so Sumi's Irish legend at this stage. But yeah, I didn't know how much to charge, but you just kind of learn as you go along. And there's such a big scale with brand deals. It's like if you like, for example, if a product is really expensive, like, you know, let's say like Mercedes or like, hey, do you want to drive around a Mercedes GT for the day and do a YouTube video? And it's like, I'll do that for free, you know, because it's good content for me.
How do you keep going? How do you get that motivation every single day?
So again, your motivation will dip and go and come. And it's the same with the gym as well. And I actually think of course I use the gym as an example, but the gym is actually a great example for analogies in life a lot. And so you got to rely and work on your self-discipline more than your motivation, because no one's getting you out of bed in the morning. And that, that's definitely the toughest part, you know. So you got to just say, if I don't get up and I don't do my to-do list, if I don't knock that off, you know, I'm going to be in trouble. And so that's it. So instead of relying on motivation, I rely more on self-discipline. Now, when you get a bit of motivation, ride that wave, do it, you know, use that to your advantage. But again, it's not something that you can rely on. And again, another thing I put into practice as well is perspective and gratitude. Okay? Because I think I could be still working a job I hated. I could have never quit my office job. And then I would say, then the gratitude comes into it. I say, if the Rob 6, 7 years ago saw you right now, he'd be so happy. Little Rob Jr. starting out in the gym, he'd be absolutely delighted. He'd be like, you getting free clothes? You get free protein? Wait, what? You get paid? You get paid to drink protein? He'd be so happy. I like that. I respect that perspective. Yeah, perspective and gratitude. If you're ever just feeling a little bit down and demotivated like we're saying, just say the two words, Rob, perspective.
Give gratitude because it's so easy to look forward. Oh, forward, forward, forward. Future Gary, future Rob. What's future Gary going to be doing? What's future Rob going to be doing? Yeah, actually, it's very rare for someone to go, well, what would you 5 years ago think?
Yes, exactly.
Working this, or you were doing that. What was, what was your journey then beyond sponsorships and beyond? Because you've expanded hugely. Yeah, like you've touched into so many different industries and, you know, food and gym and planning it online. How, how did you explore that world? Yeah, how did you learn your next venture?
Yep. So, so then we're at the part where I can, you know, have a little bit more time to myself. I can, you know, do my own schedule. I've got a little bit of cash to play with. And so I said, right, okay, you know, having people pay you for, you know, brand new sponsorships and all that's great, but now I need to do my own stuff. Now I need to put my own true CEO. Yeah, I kind of hate that word CEO. Everyone's CEO in their bio now, but you know, so I need to do my own stuff. So then I started the Creator Agency, which again is the events that we fly people in. You know, done, um, 2 events in Ireland, 1 in London, a few little mini events around the place as well. Wouldn't I beat that?
Actually, of course.
Yeah, of course. Yeah, of course. The business capital of the world for some industries. And then so did that, and then, then the Lipset Fitness app. Which turned into Game Plan and then Fuel Cakes, which is the most recent one. That's, that's about 6 months old now.
I love when people can take away kind of tangible lessons from this. Like, people listen and then, then they might mail you in a year's time and go, I actually started a business after listening to Rob because he broke down how do you actually start, what's your process.
Yeah, so quick one on that. I'm glad you mentioned it. There's a few lads, so there's a good community in Marbella of Irish entrepreneurs who work remotely Dublin, and there's a few lads who started a clothing company called Carpe Omnia. Okay, so they make like jeans and t-shirts and all this, and they just get them on the podcast. They're a few brothers and they're from Dublin and they're killing it, right? And they were like, oh Rob, look, we're having a few drinks. They're like, we actually started this after we went to your creator agency event in New Orleans. No way. And I'm like, I think you guys are making more than me now.
The commission.
Yeah, yeah. I'm like, so how about them royalties, lads? So they're killing it, and that is incredibly fulfilling for me here. That's like, that's a legacy, you know, like if people like, who knows, so there's probably, there are actually a few people who said I started a company after going to that event, and I'm like, imagine this company becomes even bigger, like one of the biggest companies in Ireland, and they came to my event. That's legacy stuff, so I'm just so happy to hear that. But yeah, so that was absolutely amazing. The impact you can have on other people just from the knock-on effect. But with Fuelcakes, so two of my huge inspirations to me are, again, two American YouTubers that are good friends of mine, Max Tuning and Christian Guzman, right? They're two OGs in the fitness scene. They're brilliant. And so Christian, in all his videos, he would drink energy drinks like a White Monster Zero or something. Okay, so he goes, right, how do I cut out the middleman? I'm gonna make my own. I'm gonna make, you know, zero calorie energy drinks called 3D. Done that. Now he's in all petrol stations in America, Walmart, Target, killing it.
He seems to be an absolute machine.
He is the hardest working person I've ever met in my life, I will say. He owns, again, Alphalete, the one of the brands that I'm sponsored by. Like, he is just— it's got 4 mega companies, just huge. Doesn't sleep. I've spent weeks with him. It makes me feel like a lazy mf'er, right? Crazy hard worker, right? The real deal. And then another guy, Max Tuning, started a sour candy company called Sour Strips.
I've been following him.
He's hilarious. He's hilarious, and he's just the exact same person. He's a wild guy, he's a trip. But so again, he was always eating Sour Patch Kids on his story and on his, um, YouTube channel. So he goes, I'm gonna start Sour Strips, right? Because there's audience already connects.
I think like I've been following you for like 2, 3 years.
Ah man, thank you so much. Everyone in this city is so nice.
I was a follower from when you had no chance to trap.
Yeah, I remember the trap transformation video. That's it. There you go, tree for good luck. That's it, man. Thanks so much. The sun came out just for that photo, mate. Thank you so much. I'm not on your level yet. Hey mate, we all start somewhere. Yo, everyone starts on day one. All right guys, that is a wrap. I am just on cloud nine right now. I think that was one of the best days of my life. We got a productive meeting in. Um, we met so many people in the gym there. We had an epic session. We're going to get back in shape. Obviously been traveling the last 3 weeks, but I kind of like getting out of shape because one, you get to rest up, eat lots of nice food, and then it gives you something to work towards again, get back in shape. So now anyways, we're going to walk around, uh, Shoreditch a little bit.
We're going to walk down Brick Lane, Brick Lane, Brick Lane, some vintage shops.
You know I love some vintage threads. And, um, then we've got a really nice dinner booked Tonight because me and Linda are going our separate ways. We're separated. Linda's going home for a few days to see her mum because we're so close to Dublin and I'm going back to Marbella. Just, I got some stuff to do. So yeah, tonight it's our last dinner. Sorry, Linda. Love coming home to a freshly made bed, especially when Linda's lying on it.
Yeah, we're just gonna shoot on my new film camera. People like cameras on the channel.
Yeah, subscribe to my OnlyFans if you want to see the content. So anyways, right, we had a great day. I'm still wearing my very Mykonos-esque shirts. But we're about to go out for dinner now. Park Shin Hwa is where we're going.
Park Shin Hwa, we still can't pronounce it.
We'll ask them. Yeah, comment down below. But anyways, today was one of the best Mondays of my life. I'm not even joking. Yeah, it was so good. I swear to God. I really do swear to God. As far as Mondays go, working out, doing some bicep curls, talking about pancakes, making progress in business, taking this beautiful lady out for dinner. It doesn't get much better than that. So look, we're going to show you some phone clips of the dinner. It's Chinese food, it's amazing. I'll finish up the vlog and we're back to Marbella. So see you guys then. Uh, huge update coming in the next few weeks, maybe next week.
Very huge.
It's probably, it's probably like one of my biggest life updates and it's one of the reasons why I've been a little bit quiet recently. I've just been focusing on that, a lot of back and forth, but we're getting it sorted. So it's gonna be like a new series. It's pretty exciting, very exciting. So right, see you guys at dinner and then we're off. All right guys, so we're here in Parc Chinois. It looks absolutely amazing. The vibes, the live music, Lynn Amazing view, the menu looks amazing. Everything's just amazing.
This is Chinese, so we're very excited.
Very excited. So look at this, perfect seats. So we're going to order and then finish up the vlog. Yo, next clip will be the food, but until then, can we appreciate these fancy toilets? Look at that, we got the hand towels stacked, we got the own custom Park Shin Hwa hand lotion, the hand wash. So this is the starter, the spring rolls. Oh my God, they look insane! Oh my God, let's get a close-up in there. Oh, okay, we got the duck, the noodles, the rice.
And they said this was the last duck.
This is the last one on the menu. That's really the best thing in the menu. All right guys, finishing up here. Thank you so much for watching. I'll see you back in Marbella. Keep it lit! Peace. Who the hell does your man think he is doing push-up curls on the internet, huh?
