Luke Barnatt slept on the gym floor in a dark room with a sleeping bag, lived on £50 a week, and ate half a rotisserie chicken per meal for a year to make it to the UFC. He knew the conditions were probably destroying his health, but he was all in.
I moved into the gym and I slept on the floor and I gave up my job. And there was like a little dark room in this, in the gym where I used to sleep in. I had like a, a sleeping bag. There's no lights in the room. It's just like a door you open. It's probably really bad for my health when I look at it now. I ended up sleeping on the mats quite a lot cuz it was soft. So I did that for about a year. And like I said, I was making £50 a week and I used to eat rotisserie chicken and you get those microwavable rice. So I'd have a microwave, but I didn't have any cooking utensils, nothing like that. So I'd cut my chicken in half, half chicken and rice in the morning, half chicken and rice at night. And that was pretty much my food.
