How I Pulled Off Marbella's Biggest Business Event (crazy weekend)

Rob Lipsett hosted a business retreat in Marbella with speaker Chris Sturmi, who built a personal brand from a 170k YouTube channel. The weekend included fitness challenges, a boat ride, and an overcrowded venue that required coordination with Atlas Gym owner Abhi to pull off.

This has been great, but guys, I think this is the perfect weekend, you know, like seriously.
Thank you all, thank you, man. What a beautiful way to finish.
All right guys, it's the main day of the event. I'm bringing energy and just put on the best day of people's lives. Look at this venue, like what the hell?
Oh my God, this is like, this is like an art studio.
What the hell? Well, how we all do it, chavales. Like, who was sending those News Cafe vids into the group at like 3 in the morning? Like drunk exes in the group. I'm like, love it. Wait for a few more people, right? And then we're going to have Chris Sturmi, who is, you know, I would describe him as a cult leader. He has just built the most insane brand and then even more impressively, a community behind that brand. So we're going to get him on first and then we're going to kick off the day. Thank you very much. Guys, great to have you all here today. So today's first guest came all the way from Granada. Where he's building one of the most insane projects that I've ever seen someone in the social content creation do. But first of all, Chris, why don't you give yourself a little intro, some background, and then we'll get to that.
Yeah, of course. So I drove 2 hours this morning, ended up waking Rob up, I think.
Is that true?
Yeah, that's true.
So basically my background is that I started on YouTube, built up a following of about 170,000 followers, I've had a kind of change of heart over the years. YouTube's been great to me. It's built my career, so to speak. I was able to create supplements, I was able to create my own body wash, my own boxer shorts, etc., courses and whatnot. And it created a career for me. But in recent times, I've wanted to go— I want to take it to a new professional level because the problem with this industry, and a lot of you guys will find that, there's no barrier to entry. Anybody can do it. So everybody in this room can start a podcast tomorrow if you wanted to. You could sit in your mum's basement, you could be unemployed, you could start a podcast, you could start making content and, you know, obviously be perceived as an expert. That's dangerous. So I've wanted to change from that. But my background, yeah, just on YouTube creating content. A lot of you— some people say I look like Andrew Tate. I was doing it, I was doing that content 10 years ago. I won't go into detail as to what I think happened there, um, but yeah, you gravitate towards on that you're best at, double down on that.
Now of course try out every platform and do your best, but play to your strengths, you know. I'm like, there's a lot of people who are really good at quick witty content, you know, that really snappy stuff. They probably more suited to like vertical short, short form content. So the next is the snowball effect. For the first 3 years I like made pretty much no money, like I very hardly gained an audience. Went nowhere and stagnated. But it may feel like you're at that place where you're just tipping along and you're not seeing your breakthrough yet, but that breakthrough will come. I've never met a single person who didn't work their fucking ass off and not give up. I've never seen them not make it. 100% of the time, if they stick to it, you will literally make it. That's the only common denominator between a winner and a loser. It's the only difference is someone who gives up and the other person that keeps going. So if you're not seeing results straight away, Just give it time. Patience is one of the strongest virtues you can have in the business world and also the social media world, fitness, everything.
There's grass growing in the middle of the road to get to my mom's house, right? I used to watch her get the shit kicked out of her every day. I could have easily gone, fuck it, life's against me. Fuck it, like, I'm gonna end up abusing alcohol. I'm gonna do the same shit he did. Instead, 9 years old, I turned around to my mum, I remember this fucking day, I looked at her and I said, "I'm gonna get you out of here." I was like 9, 10 years old.
"I'm gonna get you out of here." Some processes you need to implement to scale no matter what vehicle that you're in, okay? So actually, like I said, you guys walking away today, "Oh, if I just do this one thing, or if I make this new move, I'd get ahead 6 months faster than I previously thought I would," okay? So I would love if you, you know, like Callum, for example, who now actually is the sales director of new business, Callum came to that event in a tech job and he sat at the front. He asked all the questions and he didn't get any generalized knowledge. Having generalized knowledge bouncing around your brain that you don't use— just because you know something or you've become aware it exists, it doesn't mean that it's part of your life or you're able to implement it. Please get like the actual specialized knowledge that you need to get to the next level.
No te dejamos ver.
Yo sé, es Dolce, a veces es Bulgari. Cuando te lo quito, después de los party, las copas de vino, las libras de mari. Tú estás bien suelta, yo de safari. Tú me ves el culo fenomenal pa' yo devorarte como animal. Si no estás venido, yo te voy a esperar. En mi cama y lo vas a celebrar.
Baby, a ti no me pongo y siempre te lo pongo. Y si tú me tiras, vamos a nadar en el hondo.
Si por mí te lo pongo, lo acepto.
We had a bit of confusion. They didn't expect this many people to all go in, but I just came straight here, rushed in, smoothed things over, and now we're all good. I just want to make sure everyone's happy. Typical of that weekend, I'm like, "Oh, fuck." Boil up, cook with us, make it pop and come with us.
Toast to those who never had a chance to be the chosen ones. Everything sorted.
Weekend went beyond smoothly.
Magic. Anyone now asks me, said, how was the weekend? Yeah, I'm just like, magical. That's the only word I can think of.
Like, shit, not one thing went wrong. Little bit of a scare with the yard. We thought we were overnumbers. We weren't. It was all good. With the gym, had to like kind of smooth everyone over and get everything in. But Abhi, the owner of this Atlas Gym, by the way, he's just so good to us. Like, in my opinion, overall, this is the best gym in Marbella. And I always meet so much of you guys here. So thanks to Atlas for like, it's like it feels like my home gym. Like, they're just wrapping us all in. So we're going to have a good lift today.
Get a good pump.
It's end of weekend and aye, go! Angry with it.

Respect this good group, but guys, I think this is the perfect weekend, you know, like seriously.
Thank you all, thank you, man. Like, what a beautiful way to finish, all with each other, encouraging each other.
In the sun exercising, doing something health-focused. So we got our business done. We even had some fun, some bonding on the boat. And now we're finishing it with the most important thing in the world, which is health and fitness. Because without that, it's the foundation. You can't get up out of bed and go to work. That's it. Business comes second, health comes first. So I'm so glad that we got to finish like this. I'll see you guys next year.
Thank you, guys. Thank you.
