HOW TO GET BACK ON TRACK IN 2020 | My Best Tips | Rob Lipsett

In this post‑holiday vlog, Rob Lipsett walks viewers through a full day aimed at resetting fitness, nutrition, and mindset after the Christmas break. He begins with a brief sponsor shout‑out (Hollister, Klarna, Ghost, Alphalete) before heading to the gym with friends Ben Keeley and Aiden Broletti for a push‑day workout that includes incline bench, dumbbell presses, dips, lateral raises, and triceps work. Throughout the session Rob shares practical advice: start slowly, schedule workouts, use journaling, and cultivate gratitude for the ability to train. He emphasizes the importance of acting now rather than waiting for a specific date. After the workout he heads to a café for a balanced, low‑calorie meal (egg‑white omelette with veggies and bacon) and demonstrates a protein shake recipe (Ghost Banana Pancake Batter, almond milk, banana, Greek yogurt). He warns against extreme restriction and encourages returning to a normal, sustainable eating pattern. Rob then discusses environmental factors—keeping the home stocked with healthy foods, surrounding oneself with like‑minded peers, and using social support (friends, family) to stay on track. The vlog concludes with a sushi dinner, reinforcing the final tip: constantly remind yourself why you started. The video blends instructional fitness content with personal anecdotes, product placements, and motivational mindset cues.

Who the hell is playing Katy Perry in here? Not me. Yo, good morning everyone, welcome to today's vlog. It is that time of the year between Christmas and New Year's where no one knows what is going on, okay? It's like, it's like a weird— it's like being in limbo. But anyways, so in today's video, I'm gonna get back in routine. We're gonna get to the gym, we're gonna have a great day, full day in the diet, full workout, all the good stuff. And also we're meeting a friend at the gym that been on the channel many times before. He's home for Christmas, so should be a bit of nostalgia there. But anyways, we're about to head off now. I'm gonna get out of my PJs and then yeah, we're gonna go hit up a big session. But first, a word from our sponsors before we start this vlog. Let's get into it. What is going on guys? Welcome to the vlog. I just want to say a quick thank you to Hollister and Klarna UK for sponsoring today's video. Klarna, our service, allows you to shop now and pay later in installments. And Hollister is a huge brand that I actually used to work for before starting YouTube. I'm loving the new simple looks they've come out with, especially the denim jackets and black long sleeve tops. Anyways, enjoy the video and also comment down below what were some of the first jobs you ever had. Peace. Alright, this pajama top, as comfy as it is, gonna have to go for the gym. So, alright, there's a little bit more like it, so let us go to the gym. Who keeps playing Katy Perry in here? You've got a Christmas present. Oh, no way. Yeah. Of course, man. So first thing, Ghost Shaker. Second of all, limited edition Ghost Grape pre-workout, okay? Sick. Right, last of all, the latest release from Alphalete. You now officially have the Rob Lipsett starter pack. All right, let's go lift some weights. So the workout crew for today is myself, Ben, and Aiden Broletti here. Am I saying that right? That's right. Nice, he's actually an editor for Gymshark. So the first thing we're gonna do is some incline pressing. Let's get some weight in the bar and let's get into it. Oh, the weights are feeling extra heavy after some time off. All right, people, welcome to today's training session. We are hitting a push day today. You'll be seeing some incline bench, dumbbell pressing, dips, close grip dumbbell press, isolation work like lateral raises, chest flies, tricep work, all that good stuff. And today I'm also training and recording with Ben Keeley, who some OGs will recognize. Ben was the first videographer I ever worked with on this channel. He just came back from New York, so it was It was great to catch up, hit a session together, and with both of us moving around so much, it's hard to find a time when our schedule suits us both. But we would love to get some vids going together again, as what I've learned over the years when creating content with someone, you gotta buzz off each other as it makes the video so much better and easier to watch. Anyways, along with the tips I'm giving throughout this vlog, I'm going to include some more tips focused on training while you watch this workout. So Starting off is start slow. Get out for a walk, a hike, a quick 30-minute pump in the gym, whatever. You don't have to go right back to when your training was at its most intense. Be patient, ease into it, and realize that even if it isn't your best training session, it's better than doing nothing, and it is a start. Next is schedule your workouts ahead of time. If you plan out your week and write it down, it is much more likely to happen. Journaling has without a doubt been one of the most beneficial habits I have developed into my routine. It's been over 3 years since I've started journaling and writing out my week nearly every single day. So I actually might do a full video on that, uh, comment down below if you want to see that. Do some kind of Matt D'Avella, you know, I wrote out my day for 3 years non-stop and this is what happened. Comment down below and let me know. Lastly, this is a mental cue I use a lot, and to to be honest, it hits me hard. I think about how lucky and fortunate I am to be able to work out and exercise in the first place. There are so many people with disabilities, illnesses, and injuries who give anything to be able to go to the gym and run around. So that's something I often remind myself of when I don't feel like training, and it provides me with a lot of perspective. So keep watching the video for some more tips on how to get back on track and be sure to hit that thumbs up button. Peace. Alright, so workout done, and my first tip of the day in terms of getting back in shape after Christmas is stop waiting till Monday, stop waiting till January 1st, okay? When the calendar turns a certain number, okay, nothing's gonna change, right? So my advice, if If you're watching this video, get started now. Give yourself a head start. It doesn't make a difference if it's a Monday or Tuesday. Just get on it now. It's alright, good session. Feel amazing, back in the run of things. And now we are gonna go get some food. 5 sunrises and sunsets. Mad. We're talking about the longest flight in the world. It was London to Brisbane, Australia. You got like 5 sunsets, 2 different time zones. I'd love it. Like, I'd love to go on that personally. Joe Rogan. Yeah, yeah, Joe Rogan on repeat. 19-hour Joe Rogan sesh. That sounds class. Yeah, yeah, get me on that flight. But all right, we're just outside at Barista Cafe, which you may recognize from such videos such as the 10,000 calorie challenge. But today we're, we're not gonna go for any of the pancake options. I'm gonna keep it shreddy. Ben's bulking. I could go for a few. You could go for a few. He's trying to put on weight, I'm trying to work off Christmas. And that's actually the next tip. So a lot of people— ooh, it's windy— so a lot of people will try, like, you know, they'll have like a few days off and they'll really restrict themselves too much, okay? And this creates a binge and restrict kind of, you know, dynamic. It's really not good. Thank you very much. So just go back to your normal eating routine, your normal healthy eating routine. Don't restrict yourself too much. So yeah, you know, I'll order something sensible here, but I ain't gonna kill myself. Still playing Christmas tunes. I've actually had enough at this stage. All right, so here we got the calories to all the food here, which is why I like going here. I'm gonna have to come back to you in a few minutes. This is a good menu. Okay, I think I'm gonna do the 8 egg white omelette with peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach. Gonna be a little bit naughty, throw the bacon in there because hashtag balance and all that. All right, so yeah, last time we were here we were getting the 1,000-calorie stack of pancakes and French toast, but now a little bit more sensible, just an egg white omelette with spinach, tomatoes, mushroom, and then a cheeky bit of bacon inside there. And yeah, it's really hot in here, so yeah, I'm eating in a tank top, right? Don't judge me. All right, so we're gonna enjoy this now and crack on with the rest of the day. But yeah, like I said walking in, tip number 2 is don't overly restrict yourself when you're getting back to your plan. Don't punish yourself. All right, so right, let's enjoy. All right, game over, people. We've mastered the TikTok game. Okay, follow me over there at Rob Lipsett. It's actually fun, I'm getting into it. Whopping 120 views, made it. But anyways, right, okay, so next tip on the how to get back on track is be sure you're in the right environment. Okay, if there's a ton of crap food in my house I'm going to eat it. So try to cut down on that and, you know, just have kind of healthy snacks and healthy meals and stuff that's not going to make you go off track. So right now I'm going to make a protein shake. It's going to be the next meal of the day. We got almond milk, banana, ice. We are going to go for 2 scoops of this new flavor. It's called Banana Pancake Batter from Ghost. Absolutely delicious. And it is vegan for all you game changers out there, but just to make it not vegan, we're gonna add in some Greek yogurt. Okay, so you don't have to add in the Greek yogurt. You can be vegan, Rob. So then we're gonna add in just a large tablespoon of that. It adds a really good texture and adds more protein to it. All right, let's blend this up. Delicious! Discount code Lipsett, link in the description box. Get on it now, 20% off your entire order. For real, that is delicious. Gonna eat this now. And yeah, last tip, tip number 3, is make sure your environment is in line with your goals. What's in my fridge right now? Literally nothing. Oh Lord, because that is, that is post-Christmas. Like, I, I've eaten enough food at Christmas for a week. I could fast for a week and be fine. What is going on, beautiful people? We are going down to Kildare to pick up Linda, as that is where her family are from, and we are going out for dinner, just taking it easy. But the tips will continue when we're down there. But I'm running a little bit late, so we've got to hit the road. So yeah, see you there. We're going for sushi. It's going to be amazing. Sushi is always amazing. Don't try to tell me otherwise. If you don't like sushi, you're a bad person. Okay, so I have swapped one videographer for another. This one's a little bit more attractive. No offense, Ben. But so we made it to Newbridge, we're in one of our favorite sushi spots, and I've eaten like hardly anything all day, or hardly any kind of like fats and carbs, so I'm gonna go in on this sushi, okay? And so the final tip for getting back on track is surround yourself with like-minded people on the same goals as you. So Linda, Ben, you know, we're always hitting the gym together, and we're always wary of what we're eating. So that is the final tip for you guys. Maybe I'll have one more tip in the sushi place, but yeah. Let's finish up this vlog inside. Oh my God, that is a very large amount of sushi. We are going to finish things off here, and my last tip of the day is remind yourself why you started, okay? Be it anything in life— fitness, diet, whatever you set out to do— just remember why you set out to do it in the first place. So, all right, see you guys in the next one. Live real, better. Peace.
