Paul Daley shares two early sales disasters: a $50 coaching session that took three hours of work, and a $500 deal where the buyer immediately disputed the charge on PayPal. Both illustrate why new salespeople need to understand pricing, time-to-revenue ratios, and payment risk.

When you were doing sales calls, when you were selling, bring me through like the beginning, middle, and the open to close.
I'll tell you my first 2 sales ever. So my first sale ever was I spent 2 hours selling this guy on one coaching call and he bought it for $50. And so I did an hour-long coaching call with him, but I spent like 2 hours after everything on the sales call itself. So I made $50 for 3 hours. The second one ever was that I sold someone. It was an amazing call. He was so excited. I thought we were going to do amazing things. I hang up the phone. I remember I just have this like, oh my God. And I refresh the page and he had disputed the $500 in 3 seconds. And PayPal's instant. It's not like Stripe where you have like a lag time. It instantly was gone. And red flag and everything like that.
