What's going on guys, welcome back to the vlog. In this episode we are going to Dubai for the first time in many years. I'd say if you add up all the times I've entered Dubai, it's probably one of the places I've traveled to the most, but we have not been since 2020, which was kind of weird lockdown era. So today we're going for a few business reasons, a few podcasts, a few YouTube videos, but also to have a good time as well. So we're probably going to stay at minimum 3 weeks, could be the full month, but so say goodbye to Villa Lipset for a little while. Our flight is thankfully, it's like an evening flight. So takes off at 5 and then whatever with the time zone difference, we get in to Dubai at 7 AM. So one thing I always make sure of if I've got an evening flight, get in a workout that day, get in some steps, some cardio that day. You will just feel so much better. I've personally even feel less jet lagged just because you're sitting on a plane for so long. Get in as much movement as you can. It's kind of like the last video where I was like, if you're eating out, you know, plan ahead. If you're sitting down, plan ahead. So we're just about to go off to Elements Gym, getting the workout in as always, and we're gonna do a good bit of cardio. I'm gonna do some abs, just a little bit of everything to hold me over as I know I won't be training for a while. Well, I say a while, I said like maybe a day or two. So let's head off to the gym and have a good session. It's a beautiful day to fly to Dubai. So we arrive and the first couple of things I've got to do is going to be like a medical test, a meeting with the brokerage, I guess the people that broker your citizenship or your residency, whatever it's called, and open your bank account and everything. So I'm gonna go meet with them, just kind of, you know, do what they tell me to do pretty much. I'm gonna meet with them, do what needs to be done, uh, but I've done like half it. Everything has been approved. You don't have to be there for half of it, but there are some things you have to be there for. Gonna do that, and then I have a podcast on the 27th. On the 1st, gonna be doing plenty of YouTube videos there as well. We'll be getting in the odd night out as well. We love to buy the odd date night. And then that's pretty much it. We're gonna stay for like, you know, 4 weeks. So that's like the plan for the first 2 weeks. Then I'll see what opportunities come my way, but I'm very excited. It's got some of the best gyms in the world. Like, I think there's 3 gym scenes that are similar to Marbella in the world. So you have Marbella 1, Miami 2, and Dubai 3, you know. So it's like one of the best gym scenes in the world. That's why you see a lot of people in the fitness industry move there. So I'm very excited to just immerse myself in that, try out all the gyms, meet loads of cool people, do some collaborations. And so that is the plan. It's definitely not a holiday, you know, definitely not. We're gonna be going into like banks and shit, but we're gonna have a nice time as well. And we've been kind of like researching all like new spots to go to, and it's completely different from when we've been there last time. It's completely changed from when we were there in 2020 because it's like the fastest growing city literally in the world. So all these new spots have popped up that we want to try out. So, so that's the plan. It's going to be a good time. And if anyone on here is from Dubai, hit me up. Don't be a stranger. All right, workout done. Feeling nice and shreddy. Heading off to Dubai. Nice little pull workout today. I'm gonna finish off with a little bit of arms and then we'll go home. We'll eat whatever's left in the fridge. All right, we're back home for our first meal of the day. Oh yeah, abs are made in the kitchen is what they say, but I disagree. They're made in the gym. They're revealed in the kitchen. So we are doing 3 whole eggs and a little baby steak to start our day, and that is going to give us a lot of protein, some healthy fats, no carbs. We're going to save our carbs for the airplane food. If we choose to eat it, and a lot of nutrients. That is just a superfood right there. That is a powerful meal. So I'm gonna eat that and then we're gonna finish packing up and make a move. One more creamy for the road. Check this. Oh my God. So I put a little bit of Oreo in that. That just looks insane. Oreo, Ghost Whey, and milk. 3 ingredients, tastes absolutely phenomenal. So it's gonna be the last thing I eat before we go to the airport, and then we're going to begin our journey and see you guys in Dubai. And as we're here in Malaga Lounge, it's one of my favorite lounges. Last time I was here was going to Ibiza. So we're just getting a few things sent off before we get on our flight, and then I'm gonna relax and just clock off. So we've got 4 hours to Istanbul, 1 hour layover, and then 4 hours again to Dubai. So it's a super split-up flight. The other option was to go to Madrid and then direct from Madrid, but we said, you know what, let's just 2 hours, it's not too bad. Then we get into Dubai at 7 AM and then just straight to it. So I'm really looking forward to that. I just got my residency visa printed off, so yeah, I'm excited. All right, so we are here in Istanbul Airport. We got our little prep meals, just having some chicken and rice here, broing out. I actually used to think that you couldn't bring prep meals onto the plane or through security, but because you can't bring water through, I'm like, where does soup lie on the spectrum, you know? Crazy. But so we're just gonna have this meal here. It is about midnight right now. We're pretty tired, but we got another 4 hours to go. The flight was fine, pretty spacious. Watched The Sound of Freedom as well, which is an insane movie, absolutely brilliant. First time seeing it, about such a heavy topic, but it's kind of a must-watch in that way. But that was really good, passed the time. So yeah, gonna eat this now, and then we will finally be in Dubai. All right, we're chilling here waiting for a flight, and while we're passing some time, I'm gonna hit you with a fact. Istanbul is the 4th largest airport in the world. If you've ever been here, it is insane. It massive. It is like, it's like a shopping center. Absolutely crazy. So that is your fact of the day. We're not just learning about fitness and macros and calories and traveling, we're learning facts as well. I know it doesn't get much better than that, so be sure to hit subscribe for more airport facts. All right, so we are in Dubai. That was a rough flight. Second leg was hard. Second one was rough. They left the lights on for like the whole thing. This is like some type of torture experiment. It's about 7 AM and our driver is just about pick us up. I think there's a dude holding my name on a card, and that's just how you know you made it. All right, Mr. and Mrs. Lipsett, there we go. Hey, how's it going? Welcome to the— yeah, please come this side. Cheers. Awesome. All right, so absolutely essential, we need some caffeine, people, but they don't have White Monsters or Ghost Rain, anything here. It looks like for the next couple of weeks we're going to be on the Red Bull Sugar Freeze. Actually, I like it. It's kind of old school, it's kind of classic. So getting a few of these into us now, and then we are going to our first accommodation. Throughout the month, we're probably going to stay in a few different places, but this is the first. It's actually my friend's apartment. He was kind enough to let us stay, so I'm super excited. All right, so picked up in a nice Maybach. This is so comfortable. Wow, what an interior. So we're picked up, we're in the car, the jet lag is slowly starting to fade out. I'm very excited. Oh my God, it feels so good to get in the door. That feeling after a long-haul flight and just let go of your luggage and relax. But so this is the apartment we will be staying in for the first week. It's actually owned by a friend of mine, Mark Aron, and he owns— he's a founder of a super interesting startup company called Shackle It's a hotel tech startup. If you're into business, entrepreneurship, and following his journey, couldn't recommend it enough. He's Irish as well. So he has gone to, I think, Miami for the week, so he kindly let us stay here before moving into our hotel in a couple of days. I said if he's in Marbella, he can of course stay in Villa Lipsett, so we've got to return the favor. But quick little room tour, or house tour, apartment tour. We got the kitchen here, open plan, super nice. Already set up the work desk. That first thing you've got to do. Then there's a nice little desk over here as well with some insane views. This is downtown Business Bay, which I've never stayed for. I've always stayed up around the Palm and JBR, so kind of excited to try a new location. This is the living space here. The PlayStation— I get back my lockdown gamer days. Bedroom 1 in here. So just a quick little look, really nice. Love that art. We badly need to get some Bathroom 3, I think. And then the bedroom that we'll be sleeping in here as well. Look at that balcony on each side. Crazy views. So this is going to be home for the next week. And the plan when we're here is, you know, it's not just a holiday. We're going to go out, have fun, but we're also going to get a lot of work done here as well. All right. So the complex that we're staying in has an insane gym. This is actually the outdoor part of it. See if you can see that behind me. But I'm so jet lagged. But I always do my best to get in a workout after I get on a long-haul flight. I'm obviously not going to be the strongest. It's not going to be the best workout, but for me, it reduces jet lag, gets me back into routine, makes me feel better, and I just know it's the right thing to do. So it's not going to be anything extreme. I'm just gonna, you know, get a bit of movement in, pump up a little bit, and kind of check out the facilities as well. But this is sick. Got an infinity pool over here as well. Let's check it out. Look at that, what a spot. All right, and then this is the indoor part of the gym. Really good as well. And apparently It's 2 floors. My little personal jet lag remedy cure is I'll go to the hotel gym or whatever. I'll get about a half an hour lift in, high rep work, chase the pump. After that, quick 10-minute jog. So we've got about 5 minutes done here. So about halfway through. And then I just saw there's a sauna there, which is absolutely amazing after a long-haul flight. Just sweat all that gunk out of you. So, better do that afterwards. Also, a lot of electrolytes as well. That's a great bonus. And then after that, I'm back in the game. Alright guys, this is how we're looking. Not too bad for after a long-haul flight. Just about to hop in this sauna behind me for about 20 minutes. Just absolutely roast myself, and we'll go back up to the apartment. One thing that helps the jet lag massively as well is some new Alphalete. And if you are watching this video, the latest drop just went live. Code LIPSET for 10% off. Look at these. So this material is kind of like a stretchy material, cool to touch. These shorts as well just went live. These are my favorite thing in the whole drop. Look at the fit on this. Check that, just perfect t-shirt for a day of chilling, which is exactly what's on the cards today. So let me show you the whole outfit. That is Athleisure, ladies and gentlemen. Oh yes. So now it is time to make something to eat. There is some, a few bits here that I can kind of pull together. There's like protein shakes, oh oats, some frozen fruits. I'll see what I can put together. But one thing I'm gonna try not to do on this Dubai trip is eat out constantly. The temptation is there. There's some of the best restaurants ever, so many social events to go to. It will make a dent in your bank account and also your physique. So I'm gonna do my best to cook at home as much as possible. Every kind of accommodation that we booked, we made sure to get a little kitchenette in it. Guys, look at this! This is like something you'd get in like a hipster cafe Bali. So we got mangoes, blueberries, oats, protein, and mixed nuts, and some chia seeds sprinkled on top. Just kind of look good. This looks absolutely amazing. Hold on, check that out. So first meal in Dubai, of course it's protein oats. All right, so it is the end of the day. We are celebrating it with some chicken and broccoli. Isn't life great? But an eventful 24 hours traveling to Dubai, but settled in nicely. And now I'm going to enjoy my dinner with this epic view. But get ready for some Dubai vlogs. I'm very excited for a change of scenery. You know, I'm always in Marbella or in Dublin, but Dubai— haven't been here for so many years. So get excited for some epic Dubai vlogs, some epic gym vlogs. Let's get into it and have an amazing month. Good morning from Dubai, everyone. It is 6:49 AM and we are just picking our gym outfit of the day. There is an Alphalete launch on today as well, so I've got to choose whichever whichever one I want to post. I think I'm gonna go for the men's tank denim and matching shorts to match. So let's put this on. Double denim is back on the menu. So by the time you're watching this video, this has already gone live. Code Lipsett to support your boy and save 10% on your entire order. But now the hotel gym here— or the hotel gym, the apartment gym here— is absolutely insane. Like, it's as good as a real gym. 2 floors, outdoor gym, loads of cardio, weights, everything, all that good stuff. Sauna, steam room. So that is how we're gonna start our day. There is like a 4 or 5 hour time difference from Ireland, so I'm not sure if we're jet lagged or if we're ahead of the game. Either way, we just slept for 10 hours, we're up, we're feeling good. It's 6 AM, I'm about to have our first full day in Dubai, so let's get after it. Alright, so this is actually a pretty rare piece of equipment. It is a leg extension and also a hamstring curl. So I'm gonna take the opportunity to do a juicy superset. So we're gonna go 10 reps on each one, no rest in between. So let's lock ourselves in. Pull yourself down into the seat, flex those arms as well, why not. All right, so typically I absolutely hate cable stacked leg presses. They're terrible, but they are good for calf raises, so that's what we're going to do them with here. And it's kind of like donkey calf raises, if you know what I'm talking about. When you've got— there's an amazing one at Gold's Gym where you've got the pad just above your ass and you're bent over. This is pretty much when you just flip it on side. It's pretty much the same movement. So you got the pad supporting you here at your lower back, press this, and then you're just lifting with your calves right here. Lean forward a little bit. Ready for the beach! Where are we going today? Uh, Tago Mago. So it's actually a Spanish-themed beach club because We just can't get enough Spain. But everywhere we looked at— so we arrived yesterday, we made a booking last night— absolutely everywhere is booked up. So we're here for like a month. So last night we booked this place that we have today and also a few for the coming weeks. But yeah, this is definitely the high season in Dubai. Workout is done. If you see me in multiple different outfits today, it is because I'm shooting the whole Alphalete launch. I know, very last minute. It goes live in a few hours. But this is the outdoor gym, so cool for photos and for a quick bodyweight workout as well, quick little pump up. But now Instead of doing cardio, we're actually gonna go for a little walk to get coffee. That's a little hack as well, that if you just want something to motivate you to get steps in, just pick a point with a reward, like, you know, a coffee or a zero-calorie energy drink, whatever. Something that you wanna get, you have to walk to get. So that's what we're gonna do now. All right, we are gonna make a quick little smoothie. We're gonna have protein, we are gonna have blueberries, coconut milk, a little bit different. We have some frozen bananas here as well. And such a good addition, I never think again that we have some frozen mangoes. We have some frozen mangoes as well. This is gonna be pretty high carb, but it's gonna give us a lot of nutrients for the day. I think we're kind of eating out twice today. So we're going to a beach club and then we're going to dinner. We're going for a little lunch out on the beach and then a nice big date night dinner. It's been a while since we've the date night. It's our first— like, we've got like 3 Saturdays in Dubai, maybe 4 depending how long we stay. So yeah, we want to do something big every, every Saturday. So smoothie, super easy way, just get a load of fruit. You can also add like some spinach, kale, whatever you want. Freeze it all, put it in, makes a good consistency. Pretty solid and convenient, especially when you're traveling. What a way to finish today's vlog. So we are at a beach club called Tago Mago. Boats overlooking the Burj Al Arab, right on the Palm. Life is good. So this is the lunch we're having. We're having a grilled chicken salad with drum peppers, fried calamari— not macro-friendly, I'm a bad influence— and then this thing, it's bluefish, bluefin tuna skewer. I might have to do a taste test on that before we finish the vlog. But look, day 1 in Dubai done. I'm really good energy here. I'm looking forward to banging out a few vlogs. And right, let's finish it with a little taste test, okay? So it's an olive, a quail egg, anchovies, peppers, and tuna. Day 1 finished. Keep it real. I'm out of here. Peace.
