I BOUGHT A DRONE | DJI Mavic Pro

Rob Lipsett buys a DJI Mavic Pro drone from Camera Center in Dublin and unboxes it for future vlog content. He also appears on Sigma Nutrition's podcast with Danny Lennon to discuss evidence-based nutrition coaching, then hits Raw Gym for a pull workout with friends Ben and Sarah before announcing a trip to Bali.

All right, got your Christmas presents. Oh yeah, yeah, of course. If you're hanging out with me, you gotta look cool, man. Come on. So there we go, looking sharp, looking great.
I'm awfully dawfully—
yeah, yeah, that's it, that's all it takes. All right, so today's Friday, it is the day before Christmas Eve, so we're kind of just trying to get everything finished. Had a busy day already, had like an interview on the phone, up early, dress, and now I'm about to sit down and do a podcast with like one of my favorite podcasts ever, Danny Lennon, Sigma Nutrition. So the fact that like I'm on this is like definitely goal ticked off for me. You guys have definitely heard me mention it before on the channel. So anyways, also show you a quick look what I'm wearing. Usual Alphalete V-neck, these Legend London jeans that I'm wearing a lot of recently, linked in description box, highly recommend. Very skinny jeans though, but hey, if you wear leggings in the gym, Why can't you wear them outside the gym? And then my new shoes. So it's time to get a coffee into me, get caffeinated, and get psyched up for this, uh, for this podcast. Uh, yeah, but before we go on, I'd say me and you could have a long conversation of the kind of things that we see with, um, online clients, as it seems to be the same thing over and over with a lot of people. People. Like, another thing is, you know, reporting food intake, which we know by the research is— can be very inaccurate at times. And it's really great finding these new, uh, names in the evidence-based community, and it's really refreshing to see that how much the number is growing, and that I really think good practices are really catching on and almost becoming mainstream. Because one of my full-on goals is that I want to bring evidence-based approaches to the mainstream. You know, I want to bring them to the general population. There's a lot of times people will have a trip coming up, they'll overly restrict themselves, and then they'll have a complete blowout on the trip. And that is literally what you're trying to avoid. Look at this. Ben got like a new lens. So look at this, like zoom. Check that. What do you prefer, zoomed in or zoomed out? Comment down below. Always trying to improve the quality of this channel. So that's the podcast done there, and I just hope it went well. And Danny said he really enjoyed it. It went really fast because like we were having a good conversation. But you know, on that podcast there's like genius scientists, some of the best researchers out there. So I just hope I came across well. And we were talking at the end off camera there about like how I know a lot about, you know, YouTube, Instagram, and, you know, Snapchat and all, but I know nothing about podcasts. And me and Ben, we were talking about this last night as well. We're like, you know, how are they profitable and everything? But, you know, they definitely are. Like, podcasts, some people, some people love them. So that's something I need to— it is completely different audience. Yeah, so that's something that I would love to go into and love to start doing more podcasts. I do also have a podcast when I'm in LA with somebody who has been on this channel before. You can probably guess who it is. I'm gonna get something to eat and we're gonna plan out our day, possibly hit the gym as well. This guy needs to hit the gym. You've been slacking. So the plan was me and Ben, we were gonna like go into Dublin or go around like, you know, just somewhere nice and Christmassy and get some really cool shots. But of course Ireland, this is what stops us. So yeah, we were planning on going some cooler places in January though. But so the two of us are just gonna hit the gym. I've got a pair of tracksuit bottoms that I haven't worn yet, Alphleet. I'm looking forward to putting these on. Nothing beats some fresh clothes right out of the bag. But so we are gonna hit up Raw Gym now. It was like two— I'll get this eventually. It was like two videos ago that, uh, you guys caught a glimpse of my wheels and they're curbed, you know, they're scraped. So, uh, we're just going to blame that one on Sarah, okay? No, I'll get them fixed, I'll get them fixed. Also, um, yes, I'm wearing full Alphalete today, but no, the discount codes are now gone. They were just for like 2-3 months to get some analytics for the athletes and stuff. So unfortunately they're gone right now, but you know, still quality gear. All right, so today, pull day. So the main compound we're focusing on is going to be rack pulls, which I'm just loving at the moment. Then we're going to go into a vertical row, a horizontal row, and then finish off with some isolation work. So it's just a warm-up set. Also, something I'm trying to do at the moment, you know, my form is getting better and better the more I do these. I want to try shrug at the top. That's really build up those traps and upper back. Alright, operation get Ben swole. So nice straight back, tight core, neutral spine.
Perfect.
Yeah, good shrug at the top. Yeah, that's perfect.
Easy. You're a beast! That's it, tree! Oh, I was saying tree.
You just got to— just got to put me to shame, don't you?
Oh! Yeah, we're going. Good man.
A side effect of being Rob Lipsett's videographer, you know, well, I hate that word, Rob Lipsett's mate, you will have to lift. That is, that is, you know, part of the job. You will. It's not just about recording and editing. Lifting is very serious too. If you do not lift, GTFO. It's something that you don't see too often, and it's pulldowns. You can do this with like, um, horizontal rows as well. And do it with a rope extension, you get like a further range of motion because the bar obviously doesn't hit you.
It feels really good. There you go. Next one to our horizontal movement.
And this is just the same as any old row, but the reason I choose or recommend chest supported row is because one of the most butchered movements that people get wrong with form is the barbell row. And they just jerk it up, they use everything apart from their back to get the bar where it should be. So chest supported row, it just completely eliminates that and makes sure, it makes sure your form is perfect. And but then maybe once you've built up more foundation, barbell row could be for you, but I just prefer chest supported row. You can do these on a machine or just kind of homemade on bench like this. This, when you actually look at the movement pattern, it's just the same movement as a bent over row. It's just another variation of it. Finishing off with everyone's favorite exercise, bicep curl. Look at this, this is like a little curl rack. It's like no curling in the squat rack, no squatting in the curl rack. But, uh, all right, let's finish off strong. Duh! Ah, see, you can match me on the rack pulls, but no one will outcurl the original Curl Bra. Get out of here! The curl rack's intimidating. Yeah, it's more intimidating than the squat rack.
Rob, what are you looking for?
Trying to get Wi-Fi because I'm on that poverty hype. I ran out of like credit, my like internet plan, and it like gets activated every 30 days, so trying to find Wi-Fi to top myself off. The glamorous life.
That actually looks pretty good. What do you think of that, Rob?
Beautiful. It, uh, pulls on the heartstrings. All right, so if this isn't fridge goals, I don't know what it is, but we definitely have enough NutriQuik, enough meals to do us for a week maybe. But, uh, yeah, so we got absolutely hooked up as usual, um, We've got so much stuff, but I'm starving. I haven't eaten all day. Taco fries, they are the best. They're probably the best thing. I just had them recently though. I think I want the chili con carne. Okay, I'm gonna be a while looking for this. I'll show you when I get it.
Moment of truth.
Okay.
Yeah, that is perfect. The fact that you've gotten a Mavic in Ireland, you know, I am over the moon with that. Good, no, exactly. Rob on your channel, on Sarah's channel, which probably, uh, outstretch you soon enough. Yeah, that's, that's the rest of the analytics are saying. Yeah, absolutely, we'll be in today. I am so grateful. And we're actually recording today, so yeah, this, this is perfect. This is gonna make for one hell of a vlog.
See you then. Bye-bye.
Okay, so that was Like, whoa, okay, shout out to Camera Center on Grafton Street. So like, you know, we like— that's where we get all our camera equipment. And we were always trying to get the Mavic Pro. It's the new DJI's new drone. Waiting list was like, you can't even get it in Ireland. Like, you can't even go on apple.ie and like pre-order it. It's just like not even an option. And just there, so I was like, okay, I'll have to buy the, you know, Phantom 4, which is such a bitch to travel with. Just there, just got surprised with a Mavic. It's insane. Unreal. So we're gonna eat our food now. Here, let me show you. We are going to— I went for the turkey burger, melted cheese, sweet potato fries. I'm giving Ben the taco fries. It's like the best meal. I want him to experience it. We're gonna get the— inhale this and speed into town. Don't speed, that was a figure of speech, but we are going to really like leg it in there. Ben's getting a new lens as well. So excited. We are going to go straight. Okay, so like the universe is just on our side today. Like we went into the multi-story car park, straight away someone just pulls out of a space, head on in. So now we're gonna walk to the camera center. I'm so excited, we're gonna get this drone. Santa Claus, like I am in disbelief. Put it there. I told you I would deliver. Yeah, oh my God. Christmas has come. We will put this to good use. There's no one else who will put this to better use. Oh my God, absolutely delighted. And then so Ben's gonna get a lens as well. Yep, we have Ben's lens here. Say hello to Sarah for me. Yeah, yeah, cheers. Yeah, exactly. So much. I have everything there, right? That was the lot. Happy man? Delighted. Christmas came early. All right, yeah, so like, you know the way Ben was like getting his lens today? Yeah. Well, like, we rang up the camera shop just to make sure like we could come in and they had it, and then, uh, he just goes I got you in a DJI Mavic Pro. No way! Yeah, we just bought it there, so I'm coming home with it now.
Yay! The hell was that?
I'm so excited! All right, cool, we'll see you in a bit.
Okay, bye!
All right, so we're just talking about like when you're younger, the phases you go through. So when I was really young, like maybe like second or third class, I was a rocker. And then that kind of morphed into a skater. So I had, you know, the Spitfire t-shirt, chains, really baggy jeans, DCs. DCs, they're cool now. Yeah, the chain was like, that's like the classic thing. And then I got into a bit more sporty, so like I wore a lot of Nike tracksuits and stuff. There's a Spicer phase in there as well, about like maybe third year. Yeah, gel down hair, like the Adidas tracksuit. And stuff like that. And then now I'm just kind of like normal. So comment down below what phases you've been through. I think everyone went through the skater phase at one point.
Yeah, Avril Lavigne, like, she was like, oh yeah, and, uh, what was that song, um, Stacy's Mom?
Oh yeah, classic. We're reliving the '90s here. I showed the '90s, it's like, fuck, so clean, so That's what she said. Just beat in the comments. Okay, unboxing. I'm nervous, but let's just be gentle with it. Oh wow, it's like a Transformer.
It really is.
Okay, like, okay, so we got the remote. Apparently this remote is like way smaller than the Phantom 4.
Oh yeah.
Oh my God, it even has grips. Like, that feels so good. I'm a little bit like afraid to fly it, but I was pretty good at Xbox back in the day. Yeah, I think I got this. Okay, there's a record button, and then here is the actual thing itself. Oh my god, that's it. Like, literally, that's it. Where's the propellers? Oh, there. What?
Okay.
Okay, that's done. That's as far as I'm going. Wrapping up this vlog here. It seems so much later than it is. It's only like 7. It just gets dark so early. But today was a great day, really productive day. And something that I haven't told you guys yet is that I am going to Bali with Sarah, but we've decided to also bring Ben. We're gonna cover his trip and we're going to go there and we are going to come out with the best content we've ever made. Produce. We are honestly going to blow the doors off it. The two of us were talking all day about how excited we are and kind of ideas.
The Mavic, yeah.
Oh yeah, the Mavic, that was one of the reasons why we got it. And we really just want to, you know, blow this out the water. So I hope you enjoyed the video. Be sure to drop it a like. I'll see you in the next one. Keep it real and have a Merry Christmas.
