I Let My Girlfriend Cut My Hair.... (Quarantine Vlog)

Rob Lipsett documents a quarantine day with his girlfriend Linda, starting with her giving him a DIY haircut. He shares his lockdown routine: home workouts, a jog around Hyde Park, cooking free-range burgers from Musclefood, and a house tour of his London apartment. He's shifted to maintenance calories at 2,900 kcal after a cutting phase.

Alright, what's up everybody? Okay, first of all, if you're wondering why my hair is— it's not looking like the fade isn't as gradient as it usually is. The fade is actually non-existent. Linda cut my hair yesterday. I want to start a challenge. It's the DIY haircut at home challenge. I don't know. Alright people, so this is going down. Desperate times call for desperate measures. OGs will remember I used to cut my own hair on this channel, so really going back Back to Basics. Comes with a style guide and everything. What even is that? Classic parting.
Maybe you draw a line down here.
I think the style we're going for today is going to be a bit of a mohawk or a V. A V-hawk. That's like what I used to call it. I had it from the ages like 14 to like 18 and I loved it, right? You know, like everyone loved it. Maybe in my head everyone loved it. I'm thinking like along here and maybe back down here, and then if we don't like it, we can just shave off that part.
I think— can you do like a gradient?
Well, that's what we ideally want to do, as tight as possible, and then gradient it into the top.
Okay.
All right, so let's see what we get on. So do you want to draw on my head?
No, I think do dots. Like, okay, say we do a dot, like instead of like a line, I do a dot, and you then— you can then approve. High?
Yeah, like a V-Hawk, like a mohawk V-Hawk. Okay. No, no, Linda, this is a bad, bad decision. No, Linda, you've made an absolute hames out of it. What happened?
It's cuz you're making me go like this. If I just went—
okay, great, do that, do that. See, that's not a straight line.
I'll flatten it.
Maybe get a ruler, maybe get a ruler.
Look, I'm straightening it out. It's going to look great.
What a fade! Wow! Really good job, Linda! Really good gradient, you know? Like, it just blends in so well. Alright, so that's one side done. See how Linda just faded it in so well? Like, you can hardly even notice that there's a difference there. Like, she just blended it so nicely. So if anyone needs fades, just come over to our place, as long as you don't have any coronavirus, and Linda will hook you up.
This will be so weird.
We'll trim that.
Yeah, right.
So now time for the second half and then maybe we'll try fading it. Alright. This is the finished product.
The transformation is real.
I love it. I feel like, I feel sharp. So this is it. Comment down below, is this the best quarantine haircut you've ever seen?
I think this is the best you've ever looked.
I like it. Like, obviously, you know, it's not perfect, but that's what makes it cool. Mmm. So this is it. Pretty funny. Linda loves it. I love it. That's all that matters, really. But yeah, so this is a lockdown quarantine vlog number 1, really. Don't know how long we'll be in quarantine for, but as you guys probably know, nothing is open— gyms, restaurants, bars. We have to stay in our house apart from 1 hour of exercise every day, so we're We're gonna go for a jog in Hyde Park and then just kind of show you what we get up to today. So maybe it'll spread some positivity, give you something to watch, be entertaining, give you guys some ideas what to do. Either way, let's get into the vlog. Alright, so just about to go hit a home workout now, doing some pull-ups, some dips, the usual suspects. I know we can hit leg workout, but I'm waiting on some weights to arrive. So I would say out of legs, push-pull, legs is the hardest to replicate without a gym, but we'll get it done anyways. But yeah, so today we're just doing some upper body. Alright, let's go. Alright people, so for breakfast we got one whole egg, a big lean bacon medallion, and some mushrooms. The bacon medallions, they're like, they're like bacon on steroids. Look at the size of that thing. So I'm gonna eat this now, gonna chill out for a little bit, do some work on the laptop, and then we are gonna go for our jog in Hyde Park if the weather gets a little bit better, but hopefully it will. So see you guys then. Just taking the dog for a walk. First tip of the day, I'm just gonna give some quarantine tips throughout the day. First tip of the day is to keep your house clean, okay? You've no excuse not to do some chores around the house now. And you'll feel a lot better. The place will feel bigger. You'll feel more clear-minded if you just keep everything tidy. So I'm using this as a great time to organize the apartment, and I also got a PS4 as well. I'm really making this like my home. So yeah, I recommend that you guys take some time to do the same as well. So right, gonna digest, do some work, and then get into running gear. When I was in school, it was probably the only time I did jogging consistently, but I guess we're back on it now. So yeah, see you. Like the PE teacher from hell. So yeah, this is my running gear anyways. This thing holds a phone. Green monster, ready to go. So yeah, we're gonna do a lap around Hyde Park. I could run it all, right, but Linda needs to take breaks. I don't! We're gonna run, walk, and should take— should be all done in like well under an hour because that's kind of like the time limit that the government said. They said, you know, limit your outdoor exercise to as little as possible, so just a quick hour and then run home. And that's it. And also, they say keep 2 meters away from people. I'm— I do like 5 meters. Like, if someone is near me, I'll like run across.
It's like, yeah, we cross the road even.
Yeah, we cross the road. So yeah, that's it. Let's go. Cheers! Right, so we're back from our jog, if you could call it that. It was more like jog for a little bit, then walk, and then jog for a little bit more. Anyway, so we're back now, gonna put Linda through a bit of a home workout. And I'm gonna do a few bits myself. Then we're gonna make burgers. We're living our best quarantine life, right? You know what, we're doing home workouts, we're going for our jogs, we're making homemade burgers. I am dying on the inside, but right, let's do it. So exercise done for the day, but that being said, like sometimes when I'm bored I just go out and do some pull-ups. That's the stage we're at. But anyway, so we're going to make lunch and we're going to make some homemade burgers. So we got the buns, we got onions, tomatoes, sliced cheddar cheese, smashed avo. That'll be great to like put on as as a topping, lettuce, coconut oil to cook them in, some chili, season with that. And then we got some free-range grass-fed beef, this from Musclefood. Again, if you want some high-protein foods delivered to your door, I now have a link and a discount code for that in the description box. So that's where I've been getting my meat, my egg whites, and everything from. So right, let's do this. We are gonna toast the buns, we're gonna make these into like some beef patties and then just put everything together. So really simple recipe. So let's see how they turn out. Tip for today is don't set off the smoke alarm. Plates. Wow, unreal, right? Toast the buns and then show you the finished product. Nice. Let's construct the burger. I reckon lettuce first to kind of lock it down.
Lockdown.
Yeah, lockdown. Excuse the pun. Some of this. Tomato, just a little bit of onion, a little bit of onion, and then just all the condiments. So mustard, mayo. Oh, that is a great burger. So if you're trying this at home, as always, tag me on Instagram @roblipsett so I can repost. But that is a great little homemade burger recipe. We're gonna eat this and we're watching Tiger King on Netflix. That's our current show. If you guys have any good Netflix recommendations, please recommend them because we are bored and stuck in lockdown. So right, catch you later. I'm gonna eat this now. Right people, so for dessert we're having a beautiful bowl of Cocoa Puffs. Could be a bigger bowl, but Linda— what the hell? Like, like, that was full yesterday and I only had one bowl. There's something going on here. I think you're, I think you're waking up in the middle of the night and eating the Cocoa Puffs. That's the only solution. All right, um, so with my diet as well, a lot of people are asking me, am I still cutting down, you know, am I competing, you know, what's going on? And my calories have returned to maintenance calories, which is around 2,900. My cut, I was on about 2,300 losing fat. But right now I'm like, what is there to be shredded for? You know, there's no trip, there's no photoshoot, there's no competition. So I just want to like not let myself go. That would also be terrible to get out of shape and in quarantine feel terrible. So yeah, just maintain really, staying lean, healthy, nutrient-dense diet. I say that as I pour out Cocoa Pops. But so yeah, that's where my calories are at. That's my plan really. And yeah. That's pretty much it. So now let's enjoy some Cocoa Puffs. It's keeping me going. Right, so I'm gonna do this and then gonna hop on some Call of Duty. The best I've gotten so far in Battle Royale is 13th place, so when I get that first place, just gonna celebrate like crazy. It's gonna be, it's gonna be a big day in the household. Fine. All right, can anyone else just not stop eating? Like, what, what else to do? What else to do? Tell me. I've worked out, gone for a walk, played Call of Duty, done admin, ate a Persepig. Time for another meal. Right now, when groceries are limited or trips to the grocery store are limited, a lot of people have also been sending me pictures of like shopping center and there's like no chicken breasts or like eggs, they're sold out when we went. So a good protein powder, again, delivered straight to your door. The one I use is Ghost, of course. But yeah, probably a good idea right now. So this is banana pancake batter. This is their vegan protein, tastes amazing. So we're going to go for some frozen bananas, gives it some epic texture to them. 2 frozen strawberries. 3, you know what, actually let's go 4. That, some milk, and then 2 scoops of this. So that's meal number 4, 3. Fat and quarantined. The shake did me in. Hello there, welcome to my humble London abode. We are doing a house tour because we've nowhere else to go, so come on in. All right, so I moved into this place in January, about January 10th, and I was moving in kind of like for the past month, getting like little bits and pieces, making it my home, and now I feel really settled in. So it's a perfect time for a house tour. So let's start right at the door. Okay, we're gonna start with the worst. Okay, this is like the utility room. It's a very important room though, because this is where we're gonna sort out all our laundry. We use it for storage. Oh yeah, I got that white gold, baby! Washer and dryer in there as well. Store luggage here. This is like the washing pile, coats. So that room doesn't look the best. Was maybe the most important room in the house. And then in here, this is the main bedroom. So now we got a nice big TV here for Netflix and chill. I actually bought this from Dublin. Huge bed, this is actually super king, and the company I got this from is called Mammoth Mattresses, okay? This is actually a sports mattress, and when we started talking about a collaboration and they sent it out to me and they're like, try it out, you'll be amazed, it's like Give it a jump on. It hits different. Like, you lie in this and you're just like, oh my God. Like, the first day we got it, we got it like 3 PM, and we ended up like laying on it and we just passed out for 3 hours. Like, we couldn't believe it. My sleep has improved so much, it's actually crazy. And like, having a super king, it's important, you know. Get— keep your space, right? There's the bedroom, there's a small mattress in there, some wardrobes there. But yeah, I'm of course going to link that mattress down below. I highly recommend you check it out, especially nowadays. Like, we can't leave our house, so you might as well make your bedroom as good as possible. So I got some posters off some of my favorite movies, and that's just like my favorite movies, like posters that look cool. So I got these off Amazon, and they're usually like £10, and then you have to buy the frame separately, which is like £19, and you gotta frame So that took me a while, but I think it looks really cool. Got some old-school Playboy memorabilia here. You may think it's just like a basic lamp. This took me, I'd say, 3 hours.
3 hours.
3 hours to maybe install, and I had to like— I was looking up YouTube tutorials. Apparently it's an infamous lamp. Like, it looks simple, but you have to put everything together. Like, look, there's little, little elastics that you have to like wrap around each one of them. I think I just broke it. Very complicated lamp, but it is, it is a pretty lamp. Alright, that's the hallway again. This is where I kind of just throw letters and stuff. We got the Terminator here, Fight Club, which is one of my favorite movies ever. I remember like people would see Brad Pitt's physique in that movie, and that was like back in the day when that just came out, people were like, that is the goal, that is the ultimate body. Nowadays it's like easy. Evolved. It's got like so much more, like people strive after to be like bigger and ripped like the guys they see on Instagram. But back in the day when that came out, that was the body to get. So yeah, that was like one of the first ever physiques I saw that and I was like, damn, I'm hitting the gym. We got Scarface, another classic. Bruce Willis in Die Hard. If you don't watch Die Hard at Christmas, just, it isn't Christmas. Down here is kind of like the main living space. Again, got this lamp from IKEA. Got the whiteboard here, you've probably seen this in many of my recent videos. Got the RoboVac as well that I just— honestly, it's like a child to me, I love it so much. Then let's go into the office first, okay? So this is like my man cave, right? This is where I sit to do like editing, emails, client work, just— that's like my workspace there. Got my two favorite quotes here, uh, 'I'll either find a way or and make one. And then the secret to having it all is knowing you already do. You know, I'm big on gratitude. Got the note. Oh, stop! She— you put them there. Like, we did. We know you pinned them there. Okay, right. Got my YouTube subscriber award for passing 100,000 subscribers. Um, I think we're on like 450 now or something. We have the first little outdoor space here. Get a little plant. And it's kind of a random space, but it's nice for if it's ever like a hot day or the house gets too It heats up so quickly as well. Can just like open that space there and cools down a little bit. We got the bathroom in here. So bathroom in here, it's pretty basic, nice and wide. It's all my man stuff there. This is like work mode, and then when I take break, go chillin' mode. Okay then, badass. Oh nice. So this is like the main living space here. Again, we got this big old mirror from IKEA. We got the main dining table. Usually I like cook there, go straight right here. That's like my, it's like my seat here. Here we have kind of like technology setup, so tons of cameras, um, podcast gear. Like I have like the Zoom H6, two really expensive headphones from Audio-Technica, and I just really need to get around to setting that up though. But, uh, right now the only guests I could actually have on is Linda, so Maybe when the pandemic is over. Interesting. Like, our life is just one big podcast now. We got these two couches, they came with the house, and we got like some pillows and throws for them. And I actually made them completely different. Like, I was gonna get rid of them, they were like brown and green, and then like they just look—
I would go green.
That is definitely— that's, that's a khaki.
Comment below what you think What color do you think that is? I think it's like a mauvy brown. Is mauve a color?
This has got mauve! Who's mauve? That's gonna— it's gonna be like, you know, that dress went around there, like, is the dress blue or gold?
Who's mauve?
It's gonna be like that again, okay? One of my favorite parts of the whole place is definitely the kitchen. So again, it's just so open. This is where we cook the pancakes, obviously. So more more cooking videos coming soon. But, um, oh yeah, actually, seeing as I can't leave the house, that's a great idea, just bang out cooking videos. Like today you got a sick burger recipe. But yeah, so kitchen's one of my favorite parts. Got supplement drawer in there, it's like a pantry here. Oh, we're addicted, we're addicted.
We need to ask the question, the flavor.
This is another thing, this is like the couch argument. What flavor are Swedish Fish? Are they watermelon? Are they strawberry?
I think watermelon strawberry.
It's like its own thing. I think, yeah, I think like, yeah, watermelon strawberry, something like that. Then outside, this is one of my favorite areas of the whole house. I come out here in the morning, do my workouts, my pull-ups, everything, and it's kind of nice to just chill at night as well. And when this is all over, it'd be nice to have like a a good party here as well. Like, move the couch out of the way because like it's so open space.
Huge.
It's so open space. So yeah, definitely want to have a get-together. And if you subscribe to this channel, you're invited.
You can come and barbecue.
Yeah, and a barbecue's up. So then of course the outdoor space where we're working. I'd say it probably looks a little bit nicer, the lights and stuff. See, I've ate like 5 meals. Let's see if I can still do a pull-up. Ah, still got it. Right, go inside, finish up. Now this is what we get up to in the evenings. Oh yes! Oh yeah, so good. That was like a selling point. We didn't use it for ages because we didn't know how to work it, to be honest. Uh, we just started using it in the last like week or two and it's actually It links up to your phone, you put on Netflix, YouTube. Alright, so we're gonna finish up the vlog here. I'm gonna watch some Tiger King. Shout out to Joe Exotic, you crazy bastard. But yeah, so see you in the next vlog. Hope you enjoyed this little quarantine vlog. And if there's a message for today, it is stay positive and stay optimistic, and good times are coming. And most importantly, don't worry about things that are outside your control. That's something I've been saying a lot to myself recently because I can be very hard on myself about not being productive enough and not doing enough. And right now I'm sure a lot of us feel that way. So right now what's happening is outside of our control, so there's no point beating yourself up over it. So just stay inside, you know, do what your government says, chill out, and, you know, work on yourself. So that's it, gonna finish up the vlog here. See you in the next one. Keep real. Peace.
