What's going on everyone, welcome to today's video. Now if you're new here, be sure to hit that subscribe button. I promise I won't let you down. If you're a returning subscriber, what's up? Good to see you again. Alright, so as you know, I do a lot of grocery hauls on this channel. I'm usually a bit of a Lidl and Aldi man, okay? You know, I like my, my budget groceries. I like saving money here and there. But recently I moved to a new city, the city of London, and I got out my Google Maps. I was like, alright, let's see where the closest Lidl or Aldi is. The closest supermarket is Whole Foods. If you know Whole Foods, the place costs a bomb, right? Everything in there is gluten-free, chemical-free, additive-free, organic. It's like you're pretty much just left with air. It's like, bro, you're eating air. Anyways, okay, it's super expensive, and I usually don't recommend, um, my subscribers, or especially my younger subscribers who may be first be getting into the gym and they're looking to get some like groceries, get fit, start cooking for themselves, and maybe on a budget. I usually say to, you know, go to cheaper places to save money. Seeing as Whole Foods is the closest place to me, I said, you know what, I'll go see see how much a grocery haul costs in there. And then I said, you know what, let's make things interesting. Let's see how much £1,000 gets you in Whole Foods. Give the video a thumbs up because I hope I can pay rent this month after dropping £1,000 on Whole Foods. So if you like the video, it'll really help out. Let's get into it. We're just about to arrive at Whole Foods Kensington. Let's make a little bet, okay? I think it's going to be tough to hit the £1,000 mark. I think I'm gonna have to start buying like outrageous shit. After a certain point, like bottles of champagne and stuff.
Linda, we did see pancake mix for £22.
There is £22 pancake mix, so I don't know, that's definitely going on the list, that's going straight in my basket. So anyways, we're about to arrive now, uh, so this will be interesting. Okay, so a few rules before we go in. I'm gonna first buy all the stuff that I actually really need, then after that we go a little bit extra. I'm gonna try stick to stuff that doesn't go off, okay? Stuff that can really like last me the month. But yeah, that's pretty much it. Also try not to get kicked out for recording, some places are weird like that. But yeah, here we go! I saw a pack of chicken for €12. Usually I'd be like, but now I'm like, thank you! So we're gonna record as we go along and try like add it up so we go to the checkout with the right amount. So this is £12— no, £14. Okay, so £7 in each one of these. That's a good start. So this looks amazing. Jama Jerk Chicken Meal, £7.80. Let's get 2 of them. This also looks bang on as well. It's gonna be delicious. It's gonna be the best month of my life. Okay, perfect. Right, protein bars, they don't go off. There's kind of a rare selection here here as well, so we're gonna go to town here. Look at all these.
Okay, perfect.
We got fucking Builder Bars, we got keto bars. Let's not get them. Clif Bars, they're good. All right, okay, sweet, sweet.
This is good, this is good.
All right, we just hit our first £100. Okay, and that, that's, that's what we got. Okay, maybe this will be easy, right? Let's start buying like actual like proper stuff. 10 pounds. 10 pounds. All right, okay, we found a bit of a gold mine here. We got some beef fillet steak, £18.50. Okay, I think Linda was right, this is going to be very easy to do. Oh my God, this— we're not in Lidl or Aldi anymore, boys. 5, 10, 20, 70. All right, so here we got some organic British and free-range chicken breast fillets. Usually I like my chicken breast with so much hormones injected into them that I'd fail USADA doping test. But either way, here we are. £7.89 for 2 chicken breasts. Great. All right, so we just hit the 200 mark and literally all we have is meat and protein bars and a few prep meals. This is gonna be easy to do. A pancake mix, so we're gonna get 1, 2, 3 of these. And also a new pan. Epic pancake video incoming. Add a scoop of protein to that, laughing. All right, the normal ones are £3.90, and then the organic are £4.99. So we're balling out today, we're doing organic. That's £20 right there. This balsamic vinegar must have been made by God himself. It's £42. Hey boss, I'm going to get red, £10.99. Stick a blue label on it, £42. Look at that, it's like sealed with wax. I don't even like balsamic vinegar that much. We're gonna just go to the halfway point. We're gonna get the one for £17, balsamic vinegar yellow. Still ridiculous. All right, people, so we just hit the £400 mark. This is usually what about £100 would get me in Lidl or Aldi, but we still got a long way to go. Like, we still got £600, and this is like gonna be tough to carry home. So I think we're gonna start to get a little bit extra. Like, for example, we just bought a wok for £20. Again, I just moved in here, so like I need stuff like this. But yeah, it's extra time now in Whole Foods. We don't get water bottles, we get active charcoal water filtration sets.
How much?
64.99, and it can be yours. That's mad. What? Those look kind of nice though. Break in case of emergency, that's what we'll get if we can't hit the 1,000. 420, blaze it, but only with organic hemp. All right guys, we just hit 500 meters. Halftime team talk, hey, come on.
All right, huddle up, okay?
We've got a trolley full up, okay? This started out as a bit of fun, but now it's a challenge, okay? We're only halfway and we got this much, okay? We gotta figure out how we're gonna get to the 1,000 mark. How are we gonna do it? Like the video right now, just offer a little bit of support. It's time to get a little bit ridiculous. Everyone is just staring at me like, what is this guy doing? Seeing as we're struggling, we're on 575. We're going in to the cheese and wine section, because if there's one thing I've learned about being an adult is cheese and wine is expensive. All right, so we're getting, uh, this is 80 bucks, getting a nice 1.5 liter of Moët. My prep starts next month on March 1st. It's February now, um, so there'll be like no alcohol for 90 days, pretty strict diet. So this last month I'm gonna like enjoy myself. I'm still gonna hit the gym loads and, you know, a few meals out, dinners out, nice food. But come March 1st Tune in, it's gonna be epic. Gonna get in my best condition I've ever been in. This is it, we're in flavor country now, boys. Cheese is one thing, it's like probably the most unmacro calorie-friendly thing out there. It's like so dense. Come March 1st, I'll be having none of this. Right now I'm gonna be living my best cheese and wine life. You know that people are sophisticated when they're smelling the cheese. Like if you ask me to like smell cheese and rate it, like you could literally hand me, you know, fucking dog shit wrapped in tin foil and I'd be like, "Oh nice, good year." You only get this crack in the Whole Foods.
Hello.
Oh yeah, this is the best day ever. Ash has made me buy the block of cheese.
So we just hit £811.
We got a ton of sushi because sushi is expensive. That is £17 there, but that is £17 of deliciousness. But anyway, so yeah, we're on £811, uh, the trolley is more than full. Um, we bought a good few bottles of wine as well. It's not is we still gotta figure out how to spend about 180 or 190— this isn't too exact— uh, until we leave. So I don't know, man, I think we're gonna do it, but I might have to resort to buying more alcohol. Someone's gotten a bit excited because we're having so much fun. She's now digging into the free wine. Well, so I think that is it. We finished off some £6 granola, some expensive low-calorie ice cream. It's like you pay more for less calories a little bit. I got some more there, uh, but yeah, so that should be exactly in and around 1,000 pounds. We'll see now if the tail could be more, could be less. The next part of this challenge is going to be figuring out how we get it home. Stay tuned.
Yeah, 1,002!
Nice, perfect, amazing. Okay, sweet. I'll pay with you. Yes!
All right, favorite card?
We got an Uber. He probably already hates us, but we're getting it good. Go, go, go! Get to the chopper! Alright people, so here it is. I'm actually like, I'm pretty happy, you know. I've spent a thousand bucks on way stupider stuff. This is actually like pretty useful. But anyway, so here we go. Let's take a zoom in. Size of that receipt. And it came to exactly £1,002.12. Alright, so let's quickly go through it. I know you saw a lot of it in the grocery store and I don't want this video to be like 40 minutes long. Anyways, let's go through. Okay, so there's one thing I learned, you know, is Whole Foods, you know, really much more expensive? Yes, I would say it is at least twice as expensive as shopping in Lidl or Aldi, maybe even 3 times, especially if you're buying ridiculous stuff like kombucha. What man needs that much kombucha?
How do you think we'll get out of all of it?
I think, okay, like, so because we got like some stuff that you you can freeze, like the meat, the ice cream, protein bars, um, what else, the pizza, sushi. Gonna have to eat that pretty quick. Alcohol, if you drank all that in one go, you'd probably die. Stuff like this, the cacao, sauces, vitamins, again, they will last ages. So I think all in all, this is gonna last me like, you know, about a month. But there is some stuff like the sushi and some of the meat that I'm gonna eat like within the first week.
Do you regret spending it?
No, I don't, because one, it makes for an interesting video to see how compares to my other grocery hauls, and two, I've spent £1,000 on much worse things. Last one I can remember was for Mike Thurston's birthday. I spur of the moment bought a bottle of vodka in the club for £1,000. That was in tape, I think it was. And yeah, so we got plenty more for £1,000 there. So I've definitely spent money on worse things. This will make for a good video, and I obviously get to eat it all. So it's much more expensive than my usual grocery hauls, but nah, I don't regret it, and it's gonna tastes great. Like, you know, one thing about it, like, I don't believe in the whole like organic, gluten-free, and like, you know, having the most perfect clean diet ever, but that's not to say that Whole Foods isn't amazing quality and it is like really tasty food.
It's interesting to try new things as well.
Yeah, exactly.
You know, loads here we've never tasted.
Maybe I'll always do my shopping at Whole Foods from now on, who knows? But right, let's go through it quick. So over here we got all the meat section. So we got some pre-made chicken, again, that's handy when you're on the go. We got steak burgers, loads of chicken breasts, fillet steak, sausages, chicken fillets. You get the message. Egg whites, these are really pricey, hard to come by. I can never find them in Ireland, so they're very handy. We got some like basics, like body wash. Obviously you don't eat this even though it's made of coconut. We also got some cooking utensils. This was crazy, each one of these was £6. I do love kombucha. It's like an organic antibacterial live cultures drink. It's very overpriced, but I find it actually is great for appetite. So I go into Whole Foods, I get like a salad and a kombucha, and I'm like full for the day. By the way, this is not sponsored by Whole Foods. Whole Foods, if you're watching this, you want to send me a gift card, that would be absolutely amazing. Please God. But it's not sponsored by Whole Foods. I wish it was. We got loads of sushi. Again, that's quite expensive. That helped with hitting the 1,000 mark. I think I might have these for lunch. Jama Jerk Chicken Meal, that sounds amazing. Açaí, so good. Big bottle of Moët, that was pricey, that was like £80. And then a load of white wine. Since getting into my late 20s, I find I actually kind of like white wine now. It must be a sign of getting old, but it's kind of nice to like sip with dinner and stuff. More kombucha, grapes, pancake mix. Big pancake video coming in the next week, so be sure you're subscribed, notifications on for that. Almond butter. This was actually funny enough. Like 3 times more expensive than the peanut butter. So if you're looking for like an easy source of fats while keeping the budget down, I'd recommend just sticking with peanut butter. Almond butter is pretty much the same, just like a different nut, and it's a lot more expensive. Fruit and veg, again, we didn't get too much that because it'll go off and we've got a lot of food. But we did get some more açaí, some pineapples, asparagus, and limes, grapes, all that good stuff. Some Halo Top, 3 of them, they're like £6 each. These bars look absolutely amazing. It's the weekend. I might have one. More of these protein bars. We got like 2 boxes of Clif Bars back there.
Loads of cheese.
Loads of cheese. My god, that is adulting, is finding out cheese is expensive. Oh my god, crazy. Rice crackers, more ice cream, pizza, pizza, organic jelly dinos. Oh, it's healthy as long as it's organic, right guys? You can eat as much as you like. No. This will be really tasty. We're gonna make like a stir-fry tonight in our new wok. And that is pretty much it. Some wraps, more chips.
Pretty much it.
Pretty much it. So to answer the title of the video, how much does £1,000 get you in Whole Foods? This much. So comment down below, where do you do your shopping? How long does it last you? And how much does it cost? I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'll be hanging out in the comments below. I try to reply to as many people as possible. Anyways, I'll see you in the next one. Keep it real.
Peace.
