I Tried Arnold Schwarzenegger's Workout Plan | MOTIVATION

Matt runs through Arnold Schwarzenegger's classic chest-and-back superset routine: bench press with wide-grip pull-ups, incline press with T-bar rows, dumbbell flies with seated cable rows, dips with close-grip chin-ups, and dumbbell pullovers with cable crossovers. He argues that 80 percent effort across multiple platforms beats waiting for perfect conditions.

What's up everyone? So as you can see by our surroundings, we're not in Dubai anymore. It is not 30 degrees. We're in Dublin and it is about 1 degree. But I'm still kind of happy to be back and hit the gym, see Rob, see everyone, and of course see Yaya. We're gonna have to double up on our workouts because yesterday was a travel day. It was literally flying all day in the sky. And then so what I do when I miss a day is I just double up on days. So yesterday I missed my push workout. Today's a pull workout. So what we're gonna do is just a push and pull workout together. It's going to take a little bit of extra time, but I've got an idea to make it a little bit more fun. One of my favorite workouts ever to try out and copy is Arnold Schwarzenegger's chest and back workout, okay? It's a full superset workout, it's insane, it's a lot of fun, and the pump you get from it is savage. So that's going to be perfect for my push and pull workout today. So we're going to go into raw now, we're going to hit it up, we're going to get psyched, and we're going to do much-needed session. So give video a thumbs up, back in Dublin, let's get into it. All right, people, so just gonna sip on some of the good stuff. Discount code is Lipsett on ghostlifestyle.com. So the first superset is bench press and wide grip pull-ups or pull-downs. Next is incline barbell press superseded with T-bar rows. Then we got dumbbell flies superseded with seated cable rows. Then it's dips superseded with close grip chin-ups or pull-downs. And then the last superset is dumbbell pullovers and cable crossovers. Let's fucking get into this.
Think big because then you're gonna get big. Then you're gonna go and achieve big things. That is the most important thing. You know, we don't achieve big things by accident. So shoot for the top, shoot for the sky, shoot for the, you know, for the stars. The other thing is that you got to work your butt off. If you think that you're gonna go and accomplish something really special, and be the best in anything in the world and you think you can do it without working, you make a big mistake.
Yeah, for sure. You know, this month is for me, January, it's like content month. So I'm literally trying to reach as much people as possible with podcasts, TV, radio, social media, everything. So it's better to do everything 80% right instead of just a few things 100% right. You know, trying to be perfect is like a killer of long-term goals. And so, you know, sustainability and adherence is really just so important. When I'm consulting people on, you know, how to start a YouTube channel or how to start a business, the vast majority of people, they're trying to make everything perfect. They're waiting for the perfect camera, the perfect intro, the perfect business plan. And you know what happens? They don't even start. You know, they don't even begin. So that, that is like, you try to be perfect, perfectionism, it's just not the way to go about things really. When people want fitness advice or when people kind of get into that fitness world, usually it is from what they see on social media. And it's not even with fitness nowadays, it's just everything. It's just social media is the new TV, it's the new magazine. So, you know, has social media impacted the health and fitness industry? Yes. And it's also impacted everything. It's impacted everything we do. It's impacted the travel industry, it's impacted the restaurant industry, the food industry. My whole career started on social media. But if it's not social media, it's just going to be the next best thing, or it's just going to be another thing. And so whatever it is, or whatever is hot at the time, you know, I'll just be on that. You know, if you want to master something, if you want to be the greatest at it, you got to be passionate about it, you know. Like, if you want to be like LeBron James, I say he loves basketball. Yeah, I'd say he lives and breathes basketball, and that's why he's the best, because he genuinely loves it. You know, I love fitness. I love social media. I love content creation. So that's why, you know, that's what I'm going to excel at. So whatever it is, if you love, you know, maybe you would really love to be a doctor, then you're going to excel at that. Maybe you'd love to be an accountant, then you're going to excel in that. But if you don't love it, then you're not going to be the best at it. So it's actually a moral obligation in today's society to do what you love, because that's going to help everyone around you. When you're doing what you love, you're going to be great at it. And then that's going to benefit a lot of other people. To even go on the college dropout thing, to add to that, you should pick a course that you're really into. That way you'll stick it out, unlike me. And then if you do drop out, if you make a mistake, you're not in, in the college course you like— college is not a necessity in today's world. All the information is readily available online. So if you truly want to learn about something, you'll, you'll learn about it for free. I, you know, I literally take online seminars in marketing, and, you know, I buy constant ebooks, I do webinars, I go to seminars. All the information is out there, so, you know, you don't have to go to college to get it. I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do in 6th year. I was yet to find my passion. I felt a little bit lost. And so, you know, if anyone is, you know, in that position, I would love for them to take my advice and not worry so much about it and just, you know, find your true north, you know, find your calling. And then, you know, everything's gonna fall into place. I totally understand. Like, I— All right, so that was just going over a quick interview with Ireland AM that I have on Thursday. Again, January, we are banging out content, we're everywhere. And we're also just chatting there about our little team. It's obviously me, Yaya, Blas, and Tyler. He is the unsung hero that creates the thumbnails that goes on these videos. So massive shout out to Tyler. I was saying we'd all I'd love to come to Dublin and have like a meal out or something. We are back in our favorite place in the whole wide world, which is Aldi. And still waiting on that Aldi sponsorship, like where you at? And so anyways, I was just in Dubai for the week, of course there's no food in the house. And see, the thing is when you go away, you know, you're obviously eating out a bit, you know, you might have some alcohol, whatever. And you know, people can freak out if they come back, they're a little bit more watery. And just wind it back for a couple days. You eat too much carbs and fats on the weekend, It's all right, don't freak about it. Just lower your carb and fat intake. Your weekly average is what matters. So we're gonna go in and get some lean proteins, some veggies, and just get back on that grind. Get free range today. Give the chickens a fucking break. We're mainly just sticking to proteins. And I'm also going away to Paris on Friday. So that is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. So usually about 370 grams of protein or meat a day. I got some 0% fat Greek yogurt, just kind of snack on. Turkey sausages for breakfast, and then just tons and tons of vegetables. So literally just loads of stir-fries, mushrooms, then I got loads of broccoli at home. So yeah, that's it, you know, just be smart, learn about macros, protein, carbs, and fats, and then shit's easy. So Monday is coming to an end. Good productive Monday. We kind of planned out our week, got a big gym session in, did a food shop. Now I'm going to drop Yaya off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna drop yeah, yeah. I'm gonna drop yeah, yeah off. I'm gonna get some emails done and then gonna chill and wind down and cook dinner for the evening. And that is a wrap to Monday. I hope you enjoyed the workout. Be sure to give it a shot, tell me how you get on. I'll see you guys tomorrow and this whole week. So the plan is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, just train, you know, eat right, be productive, get on top of emails, everything. And then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I'm gonna be in Paris. I'm going for the first time ever, so I'm gonna either try pre-record some videos or do a little bit of vlogging in Paris. Either way, it's gonna be a good week, and yeah, let's all kill it. Keep it real. Matt here. Peace. Merci, bitch.
