I'm NOT About That Life

Rob Lipsett shares his daily routine: protein oats for bulking, a new upload schedule (Monday training, Wednesday meals, Friday Q&A), his pull workout, and his first boxing session after a wrist injury. He emphasizes that despite recent travel to Ibiza with boohoo.com, his real focus stays on training, nutrition, and health.

That is how you make protein oats. If you know, you know. Probably one of the easiest meals you can make. So quick. If you're trying to bulk up as well, it's got probably a lot of calories, a lot of carbs in it. Peanut butter oats, one scoop of protein, and a banana. That was absolutely delicious. Had that while catching up on some CG. I did an Instagram Q&A like this week. People asking me how much time do I spend on social media, and really as little as possible. The main thing I do is catch up with my friends, see what they're up to. And then apart from that, I just have lectures, talks, informative stuff just playing in the background, be it in my car, while I'm cooking. So I'm not actually watching it, it's just I'm doing it on the go. Yeah, so multitasking, okay? And then I really try not to go on my phone late at night. Sometimes I do quickly, but I try just to cut that out as much as possible before bed. So it's coming up to midday now. I'm gonna work out in maybe an hour or two, and I'm just about to have myself some white unicorn tears. So I drink a can of Monster or a zero-calorie energy drink usually every day, to be honest, and it's absolutely fine as far as the evidence suggests. What I would not recommend though is drinking the full-calorie ones because there's usually about 60 grams of sugar in there, and that is just not how I want to spend my carbs. I would way rather have a massive bowl of cereal, oats, potatoes, something like that with a bit more nutrients in it and something that's going to fill you up. But yeah, Zero calorie ones, it's a yes from me. If you want me to link some research on that, comment down below. All right, so quick one. I am adding a little bit more structure to this channel, okay? So it's still gonna be like, you know, regular vlogs, fitness vlogs, what I'm up to, but I wanna do Monday is a training day, okay? It's gonna be where I pick a topic on training, talk about that, and it's gonna be more kind of gym-focused, whatever exercise I'm doing that day. I'm getting back into MMA soon as well, so I'm really looking forward to that. Might actually do a little bit of boxing today. Wednesday, I'm gonna vlog again, and it's gonna be What I Eat Wednesday. Like, how catchy is that? I can't wait for What I Eat Wednesday. Basically, the funny part of that is gonna be I'm gonna make myself do a full day of eating on Wednesday no matter where I am. I could be in Ibiza, like, "So this bottle of vodka has all the macros." Or I could be like now in Dublin, you know, on my plan, everything, you know, really structured. Either way, I'm gonna have to do it, so. So that's gonna be What I Eat Wednesday. And then Friday, I'm thinking more of a Q&A format where I sit down and talk about topics because those videos may not get as many views, but when I'm like sitting there giving a lecture or something and just, you know, talking for 20 or 30 minutes, I feel it makes more of an impact and people kind of like, they vibe with that a little bit better because how much do you know about someone if you're just vlogging on the fly? When you see someone have an actual conversation with other people, you get a better idea what they're like. That's what I'm gonna do, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. And just banging out the content. So I've never actually done a schedule like that. You know, I'm not saying I'm going to stick to it perfectly, but that's what I'm going to do anyways. So today is What I Eat Wednesday, and we're just about to go in, hit the gym. Fun times. Let's go!
Come on!
First time ever had an upload schedule. Unreal.
Hey, what's going on, mate?
All right, enough of that. Last set. That's it! Hey Rob, what are you training today? Um, my ego.
A treat from the solid reps. 4, come on!
All right, so today's pull workout, we were hitting the back, we were hitting the traps, we were in the biceps. So we did a horizontal pull, vertical row, and we did some shrugs, and then we finished off some biceps. So this is a day that I find quite easy, and back is also a strong point of mine. Um, so again, you know, kind of breeze through it. So leg days and the push days I really need to work on. I'd love to bring up my squat, my bench a bit more this year. Anyways, so finish up here now. We're gonna do 2 more arm exercises, and then we're gonna go in search of some food. You're right there, big fella. Dad ting. Worked up a good sweat there, and oh my God, so that was my first time boxing, working the pads since Dubai with Mike Thurston, because that's when we were doing MMA and I sprained my wrist. I was just messed up for so long, and oh my God, I'm so rusty. But it has made me realize that I'm dying to get back to it. And also, right, I'm so stupid, okay? I left this box of meal prep overnight in the gym. I forgot to pick it up, so I'm gonna drive home now, and here's hoping that it's not all gone off and gone to waste. Alright, people, title of this vlog: I nearly died. Okay, seriously, I just went for my usual post-workout swim. Cue the clip. And so basically I dived in and it was like really shallow water, like the tide was out. The whole beach of the whole— this is not a beach— the whole place was like, oh my God, I literally like, I hit the bottom bottom. Like, you can see some scratches on my stomach there, and then I also got a scratch on my arm too. Um, but yeah, that's absolutely crazy. Like, Jesus. Afterwards I was like, ah, it's just a few scrapes, but that could have been bad. I definitely deserve a meal now. I am absolutely starving, so we're gonna eat some Nutri-Quick. Okay, so they look all right, and I hope they're all right because They got some new recipes there and they're very tasty, especially that one. Yes, we got barbecue beef, mixed veg. We're gonna have that now. Brown rice. Discount code is Lipsett10. I'm gonna refrigerate and freeze a few of these because they are very, very helpful when I'm in a rush. Thank you, NutriQuik. Here is the meal. Okay, so it's Thai curry. Thai curry. And I added some peppers to it as well. And there's white rice. And then, you know what? I just threw a piece of bread in there, okay? I was like, bread goes with everything. I love bread. I eat bread whether I'm cutting, bulking, whatever, okay? Bread is life, okay? So that is going to be my lunch-dinner sort of thing. It's about 5 or 6 o'clock, so probably going to eat one more big meal later on in the day. So right after I ate that meal, I was still pretty damn hungry. So the answer to that is usually eat more vegetables and eat some protein. Okay, so that's exactly what we're doing. Uh, I just cooked up kind of like a stir-fry thing, just a load of mixed veggies and some Peri Peri chicken. So hopefully I feel a little bit less hungry after that. This is the, the life problems of just a constantly hungry guy. Next up is peanut butter and more bread, some toast. Me and Joe just booked Barcelona there, so I deserve a snack. So we're going to Barcelona for 2 days on August 8th to 10th, then we're going down to Madrid for a festival, and then we're going to Marbella. That's our little Spain trip. But when we're in Barcelona, we would like to do a meetup because we put it on our social medias that we're going to Barcelona, and the amount of people— like, I did not know I had any people that follow me in Barcelona, but the amount of messages I got So come down below if you're in Barcelona, or, you know, hit me up on Twitter, Instagram, and we'll lift, we'll have a chat, and we'll just have some good times. This peanut butter and toast needs to be attended to. Alright people, so I'm finishing off the day with a protein shake. Typical, right? Milk, banana, Been the other way. After Ibiza, okay, it was honestly one of the best trips we've ever had. Like, it was nothing but good vibes. The crew that was there, we went with boohoo.com, who are just an amazing brand. I'll be working more with them in the future. Crew was so good, no dramas, like laughed the whole way. We partied hard, okay, hence why there wasn't that much vlog footage, okay, because in the words of Joey D, you can't vlog when you're effed up the whole time, okay. As much as I do love trips like that, you know, really releasing, going crazy for a little bit. And I think it's important to do that, especially while you're young, especially while you're in your 20s, you know, while you can. I'm not actually about that life. Like, me and Joe had this conversation as well. It's like, I truly love training. I'm truly into nutrition. I make sure to eat very well and be careful what I put into my body. Like, I eat a lot of vegetables, a lot of nutrient-dense foods. You know, I really do prioritize my health, so you may see me going wild sometimes, but I'm not really about that life. And then I'm back in Dublin. I'm so happy that all I've been doing is training, eating, going swimming, working on new projects, putting in the hours on my laptop, on my desk, looking after myself. And it's truly what makes me happy, you know. And of course, seeing all my old friends were still very important to me. So yeah, don't get it twisted. I'm still the same Rob Lipsett that, you know, you subscribed to in the first place. That's the same guy that's in the first ever videos that you could have watched. I think it's very important to remember that, and it's very important to, you know, not forget where you came from. So you may see all the traveling, may look a bit glamorous, but I still love poppy soda and hitting raw gym. More training and eating videos coming soon. Probably gonna do Q&A this Friday. So if you've any questions, put them down below or even on my Instagram. Good night, God bless. I'll see you in the next one.
Keep it real.
