My Morning Routine | Rob Lipsett

In this vlog, Rob Lipsett walks viewers through his comprehensive morning routine and shares recent life updates. He begins by emphasizing the importance of a structured start to the day, describing how he prepares the night before by tidying his workspace and establishing a consistent sleep schedule (aiming for 8 hours, waking around 6:30‑8:00 am). Upon waking, he makes his bed, practices a gratitude exercise, hydrates heavily, and consumes caffeine (coffee or energy drink) along with green‑tea extract and other supplements. He then journals and plans his day using a physical planner, noting that writing tasks down boosts productivity and visualisation of goals. Rob follows an intermittent fasting protocol, typically delaying his first meal until 11 am (or later when cutting), consuming low‑calorie options like protein bars or egg whites if he does eat. He reserves the morning (8‑11 am) for creative work—writing e‑books, editing videos, brainstorming ideas—arguing that the mind is freshest then. Around midday he heads to the gym for a workout. He updates viewers on upcoming professional commitments: a Myprotein campaign shoot in Manchester, a potential Men's Health cover shoot, speaking engagements at the RDS and in Kerry/Killarney, a ski week with friends, trips to Dubai and the Maldives, and a future talk titled “Fresh Resolutions.” He also promotes the Fit FCK app, a gym‑partner matching platform he sponsors. Throughout, he stresses goal‑oriented training, the fun of structured nutrition, and the importance of winding down by 9 pm to protect sleep. The vlog ends with a call for comments on routines and travel recommendations.

What is going on everyone? Welcome to today's video. It is a Monday and that is my favorite day to vlog. There's always something going on, so I'm gonna bring you guys along with me. Sit back, relax, like the video. Let's get into it. So I decided to start off today's vlog by talking about my morning routine. Now, why is your morning routine so important? Now, the reason for that is because your morning routine sets up your day. It's at the start of the day, so it's gonna set the pace for the rest of the day. When you look up some, you know, very successful people, business owners, or just people who've done great things, they all have their morning rituals, okay? And everyone has kind of different ones, and including mine, there are of course a lot of similarities. Most people have their own kind of morning setup routine, so I'm gonna tell you mine. So for me, it kind of starts the night before, because at the end of the day, this table is gonna be full of sheets, full of camera equipment, SD cards, planners everywhere. The kitchen's gonna have had dirty plates in it, and imagine that I woke up in the morning and I just walked in and it was chaos. Not a nice way to start your day off. So I always clean my desk and any kind of working environment that I'll be in. So when you walk in in the morning, it's just kind of like, ah, it's just like a nice thing to walk into. Along with that, I recommend establishing a sleep schedule. So wake up at the same time every day. I usually wake up at around 6:30 or 8:00. But one thing I do recommend is prioritizing sleep. It's gotten like cool or glamorous to be like Team No Sleep, you know, and no sleep is hardcore. No, sleep is so important for your health, your mindset, and your productivity. It'll make you so much more efficient when it does come to work. So I do recommend prioritizing sleep and trying to get your 8 hours. So the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is make your bed because, you know, you wake up, you make your bed, and you're like, alright, okay, I've already, you know, done myself a task. And again, like I said, I like to have everything kind of neat and tidy when I walk in. And if you can't make your bed in the morning, then, you know, what the hell can you do? So when I come into my living room, again, it's a lovely white, bright, open space. I'll come in and sit down for anything. I'll say and list everything that I am grateful for. And this can mean anything and everything. Even if you're grateful for the little things, that's even better. You know, like, be grateful for every single thing. So I'll be like, Oh, I'm grateful for a nice warm house. Oh, I'm grateful there's food in my fridge. Oh, I'm grateful for comfy clean clothes. You know, I'm grateful that I get to do what I love. I'm grateful that I don't have to get up and de-ice my car, as Joey Dee would say, and drive to a job I hate. I'm like still in my pajamas here. Check out the slipper game. Maybe my friend will text me in the morning. I'll be like, oh, I'm grateful for that friend. Literally grateful for anything and everything. And then I'll also list all those things that I'm grateful for that happened during the day at night. So I start my day feeling amazing and I end my day feeling amazing. Honestly, do yourself a favor and start showing more gratitude. It will improve your life so much and just make you feel very good. So after I sit down and have a little think to myself, I will go into the kitchen and I'll start hydrating again. When you wake up, you're dehydrated, so I recommend drinking plenty of water in the morning and then kind of tapering it off as the day goes on, because if you drink loads of water before you go to bed, you'll be again making a lot of trips to the bathroom during the night and you'll mess up your sleep. So I hydrate a lot in the morning and then also get some caffeine in, usually in the form of coffee, maybe an energy drink, uh, something like that. It feels amazing when you've got an empty stomach and you just take some caffeine and really you can think clearly, you know, it hits you harder, and yeah, it just feels damn good to be honest. So once I've got my coffee and my water into me, I will sit down at my desk and I will journal and plan out my day, my week, my month, everything. Journaling is one of the best things I've ever started doing. It is just so relaxing. It'll make you more productive. Once something is written down, it's physical, it's out there, and you're more likely to do it. You're gonna get reminded of it every time you open the page. Honestly, sometimes I'll write something so far in advance, and I'll just visualize it happening so much that I'll act and take it as if that's already happened. It's like I've accomplished that already. And it makes it so much easier to complete something or achieve a goal that you set out to do. So as you can see, like, I love planners so much, I've already got my 2018 planner ready and I'm already planning 2018, and I'm just excited for life in general. In the morning, I do also take most of my supplements and vitamins. So I do love green tea extract because to get the benefits of green tea, you'd have to drink so many cups of it. So I actually just take pure green tea extract, and again, I really you like it and notice a difference. So I've woken up, I've made my bed, I've walked into a nice clean kitchen, living room workspace. I've said thank you to the universe. I've hydrated, I've made my coffee, I've taken my green tea, my supplements, vitamins. I've journaled and written out my day. So now it is when I begin most of my work and especially anything creative. So in the morning is when we are at our freshest. So this is when I will get most of my work done and most of my creative work done. Okay. You know, write ebooks, edit a video, I'll edit photos, you know, I'll come up with new ideas. I'll even do most of my emails. And you may think, you know, oh, doing emails isn't creative work, but if you're negotiating a business deal, you have to say the right things. So being switched on is very important. So yeah, at about 8 AM to around 11 AM, I will get the most of my work done. So I usually fast until 11 AM, if not later. Sometimes for breakfast depending on how deep into a cut I am, I'll have something that's about maybe 200 or 300 calories. Usually the smaller the breakfast I have, the more deep into a cut I am. So when I'm at the very depths of a cut, I'll probably just fast until about 2 PM. When I'm just kind of casually cutting down, getting a bit leaner, my breakfast will be about 200 calories. It'll be like a protein bar, protein shake, or egg whites. I just like to save most of my calories until later in the evening, especially my carbs and fats. And in my opinion, you can also think much clearly when you're not stuffed and bloated and have a full stomach. If intermittent fasting is something you like to do, give it a try. Again, I'm not like married to the approach. If you like having breakfast and you get results and it makes you feel good, then do that. Alright, so that is my morning routine. I'm gonna put up some key points here. Comment down below your morning routine, and if you have any recommendations on things I should try out, I would honestly love to hear some things. I'm very open-minded and always want to try out new approaches. So now around 12 PM is when I always go to the gym, so that is what I'm gonna go get ready to do now. Alright, so just about to go in and hit the gym. Like I said, my morning routine is done and then I go hit the gym around midday. Decided I'd give you a quick little life update for everything that's going on. So this week, Wednesday, Thursday, we are flying to Manchester to— I always say we because it's like, yo, we, we do things together, it's a channel. We are flying to Manchester on Wednesday and Thursday to shoot the new My protein campaign. Then we're back in Dublin Friday. Then that night I've got my agency's Christmas party, not the Creator Agency, Andrea Roach Agency, which is the social media agency that gets me brand deals and stuff like that. Then the following week I have a potential cover shoot for Men's Health. That has always been a huge, huge goal of mine to get on the COVID of a magazine, never mind Men's Health, which I'm pretty sure is the number one fitness magazine in Ireland, UK. But now don't get too excited because it's just a potential trial shoot. So what that means is they're going to go take my photos and have the option to put me on the COVID or even feature me in an article, you know, 2 or 3 months down the line or whatever. So look, we'll see how it goes. Then 2 days later we go skiing for a week with Ryan and Joey D. Then we've got Christmas, and then just last night I booked a trip to Dubai for me and Sarah, and I am shocked at how many people follow me that are from Dubai. There is a huge Irish community out there, so I'm not too surprised. And please comment down below any recommendations— gyms, restaurants, things to do in Dubai. We're staying on Jumeirah Beach. Then I come back to Dublin, and then January 6th I have got another talk. Oh, someone ringing me. So then after Dubai, we've got a talk in the RDS called Fresh Resolutions. I'm a guest speaker at it. So I'm really looking forward to that. Then on January 14th, we have another talk. I'm a guest speaker at that down in, I think, Kerry or Killarney. And then on January 20th, me and Sarah are going to the Maldives. So that is the upcoming 2 months. I'm so excited. I just really can't believe that 2018, it's not even started and it's already just looking so sick. So I cannot wait to bring you along to every single one of those things with me. But now, what matters now is going in and getting a sick pump, brah. Let's do it! Very good session. Another one in the books, another brick in the building. But before I talk about how that went. I want to show you guys, I want to show you guys an app. They have reached out and asked me to sponsor this video and mention and tell you what their app is about. And I have actually worked with them before. You probably remember the video I did with GraceFit UK, the Q&A we did, and that's the same app. So I actually know the owner, really nice guy, and we talk often. So it's basically an app for meeting people that are also into the gym. And before anyone says it, this is not where me and Sarah met each other. Me and Sarah met each other when we're 16 and 17 outside a club in Ratmines that is now closed down. I often drive past it and shed a tear. Uh, but so again, the download link for that is in the description box. Thank you Fit FCK for sponsoring the video. With that session, or with all these sessions that I'm having recently, I forgot how kind of nice it is to have a goal or something to work towards. So again, I have the Myprotein shoot on Wednesday and Thursday, and then the Men's Health trial shoot in 10 days. Now the Myprotein one, I will be wearing a lot of like Myprotein gear. I will have my top off at some stage, but it's not going to be as full-on as the Men's Health one. So my, my target is really to dial things in in the next 10 days, and I'm loving it. Like, it's just great to have just something to work towards. And that has got me thinking, would I ever compete again? A lot of people have sent me this competition. I'll put it up on screen. I think it's IFBB, and it's coming to Ireland in April, which is like a perfect time. And I don't know, I I said I probably would never compete again, but never say never and all that. I've just kind of, just recently with having this shoot, it has made me realize how much kind of fun it is to have a goal and to work towards it and structure your training, nutrition around it. And that is it, like you gotta view your training and nutrition as fun. It's like this big quest. It's like Pokémon where you get, like you level up and you go level 99, all this. Sorry, I'm actually a weird person. Anyways, I'm very hungry and all I've eaten today is a protein bar. So that is the type of carb backloading, or, you know, intermittent eating that I follow when I'm getting lean. I have a very small breakfast or no breakfast and then just save all my calories through the evening. So I'm about to go home now, have an epic meal. Alright people, so it is later in the day. I got a haircut because I gotta look fresh for this week's shoot. So I hope you enjoyed seeing kind of how I start off my day. Then I'll usually go train. Then I'll do the errands, and then I'll probably do a little bit more work in the evening. But I also try and wind down and shut off all kind of, you know, electronics, social media, and work-related stuff at about 9 PM. I do my best because for me social media is work, so I do find it kind of messes with my sleep a little bit if I'm working late at night. So anyways, next video you see is going to be in Manchester. I'm gonna try and meet up with Joe anyways. I'm sure we'll see what we get up to. So travel vlog coming next. Thank you so much for watching. Leave some feedback down below. I love you all. Keep it real. I'm outta here.
