Physique Update - 10 Weeks Out

Rob Lipsett films an upper-body workout at TNT Gym while discussing his competition prep 10 weeks out. He's keeping calories above 2,500 during his cut, relying on refeed days to restore glycogen and trigger the "whoosh" fat-loss spike. His back is coming in well, though his chest still holds more fat than he'd like.

Here in TNT Gym, uh, just hitting up some equipment that I don't normally have access to. So I'm going to do some deep-con press here and then superset straight onto machine rows. All right, so I'm going to do a voiceover commentary here and just talk a little bit about my prep training and how things are going in general. So I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, and seeing as we are both on different splits and have different routines, we kind of just met in the middle and did whatever. You know, had some fun, got a pump on, which is absolutely fine to do once in a while. This shit ain't that serious, and you have to keep things interesting and enjoy the gym. So what you're gonna see here is a random bunch of upper body exercises, but it was actually a really good session. So I did a little chest and back superset here, definitely my favorite body parts to combine. To get that front and back pump for that all-around swole feel. And, uh, here's another machine that I really like. I love the neutral grip. It takes your shoulders out of the equation when pressing, and, uh, you can really focus on getting a good contraction. Then hopped on the T-bar row, something that I don't always get to use or have access to, so it's a nice addition to today's workout. All the weights were also just feeling light and they were all going up fast. I think that's due to the fact I had a great sleep last night, solid breakfast, and also had a refeed day yesterday. So I find that it is the day after a refeed when I feel all my glycogen has been repleted and I feel full and explosive, which is a great feeling when cutting. Oh, and here's me miring myself in that LF stringer. If you want to support the channel, click the link in the description box. Go buy about 30 of them bitches. Anyways, in regards to my prep, right now things are going great. I haven't had to lower calories below 2,500 and I'm still leaning up, so I'm not gonna lower them until I really have to and when fat loss has completely stalled for about a week or two. Always hold off because fat loss is not linear. You could stay at the same body fat level for 2 weeks and then all of a sudden you'll have this big whoosh And Lyle McDonald, who you know I'm a big fan of, actually has a series of articles on whooshes. That's actually what they're referred to as when we experience a sudden and quick drop in body fat. Then just did some tricep pushdowns and superseded them with bicep curls. Another great one that just feels fantastic. Curls for the girls, you know that's what I'm about. Alright, so here we just finished things off with as much bodyweight dips and pull-ups as we could do. And then after that, we went and did some G4P in the locker rooms, which you'll now see. Okay, so here's where my physique is currently at. I'm not making excuses, but I did have a refeed last night, so I am looking a bit watery, but that is cool with me. You should really not get hung up on water weight and just focus on fat loss. So you may have noticed my back is probably my most developed body part. It really overpowers a lot of my other body parts, such as my chest, which I hate and would love to be bigger, but But we all hold fat differently, and I actually hold a lot of fat in and around my chest, so as my cut goes on, my chest looks way bigger and pops out way more as I lose more fat around it. Bodybuilding is funny like that. You get smaller to look bigger. As you can probably tell, my posing sucks, but I'm starting posing classes soon, so tune in next episode for some of that because it is bound to be funny. And comical. Anyways, that's all for today. Hope you enjoyed. Keep it real.
