Mike Thurston and a guest discuss relationship green flags: a partner with their own hobbies, someone who prioritizes health and fitness, and a preference for staying home over partying. They argue trust and open communication matter most, and one speaker credits quitting alcohol with improving their emotional control and relationship stability.
So what are some green flags, qualities that you value most in a partner?
I like it when they have their own thing going on. Like they have a hobby or a passion and you can see that they're working on something. Even if it doesn't really make much money, it doesn't matter.
Exactly.
It's something that they care about. Okay, mine is they have to be into the gym.
I'm not even like just have a good body 'cause like there's some girls with great bodies that don't lift. They have to be like interested in health and fitness. And then also have like the same values as well. Can't say political beliefs.
I like it when they honestly just prefer to stay at home and stay in instead of going out and partying.
Every issue arises is from alcohol and going out and partying. Trust and communication are the two biggest things in a relationship. Yeah, and not being secretive. And you can always just tell if a girl's just acting off, like, if you have any sort of social skills, really. Since I've stopped drinking, there are no problems. I'm not drinking, so I can control my emotions more. I feel like when you drink, you— You get way more emotional.
