What's going on everyone? So I think it's about time I made this video because September 1st, 2014, which is just over 2 years ago, I put my first ever YouTube video live. So this is my story from then up until now. Hello, everybody! Okay, so the first few months are kind of complicated. I just got my results back from college and they were not good. By not good, I mean I wasn't continuing on to the following year. And it's really scary not having any direction and not knowing what your next move is. So at the time, I had a Facebook page and I used this page as kind of a blog, you know. I post about my progress and I'd post meals, and as statuses I'd post kind of informative articles. And you know, this gained good traction because people would tag their friends, it was informative, and then people would always inbox the page and asking for advice. And I'd always reply because fitness was and is still my passion, you know, so I could talk about fitness all day. So with college out of the question, I said I have to get a job or I'm gonna be broke as hell. So I started just working a part-time job in retail. Seeing as the job was just part-time, I had a lot of, you know, extra free hours in the day. So I decided to, on top of running my Facebook page, venture onto YouTube. And I've been watching YouTube fitness for so long. I see these guys and they get to make a living out of training and flying all over the world, meeting people, and just living the whole fitness lifestyle. And I said, I I want that. That's what I want to do. Fitness is my passion and I want to make a living from it. So I put up my first ever YouTube video and that was a full day of eating and training. How original. What's going on everyone? Morning. Gonna take you through my day today. Full day of eating, bit of lifting in there as well. And so on and so forth. So time went on and, you know, I started making more YouTube videos and I started getting really into it. I, you know, found that I was very passionate about it and I also, you know, was still working in retail and I think it was quite apparent that I thought that job sucked and I had no interest in it, so I got fired. Okay, now this is where it gets complicated, so please try pay attention. So shortly after, I ended up getting a full-time job, 9 to 6. It was in an office environment, sitting at a desk, working for someone else Monday to Friday. And at the same time, I also started LipsettFitness.com. This was my own online coaching business, and this was one of the most stressful periods of my life. I was working a full-time job, I was trying to get my business off the ground, I was trying to grow a successful YouTube channel. I was trying to manage all my other social media platforms. I was even prepping for a physique show, so I was trying to stay on top of my training and diet, and this was a very stressful time. Yeah, but I am veering more towards the online sort of things, um, and the website is coming along great, um, I'm really excited for that and it's coming soon. But anyways, so heading off to work, um, I'm gonna go like feed George, finish this, and get ready for the day. A few weeks went by and I was always thinking to myself, you know, there has to be more to life than working 9 to 6, Monday to Friday, wishing for the weekend. I was 22 at the time. I said, you know, I'm too young to be hating my life and dreading waking up in the morning. Every day was just a slog. But I eventually, you know, worked up the balls to walk in my boss's office and say, look, I want to go full-time with my own thing. It was hard to walk away from a steady income. You know, my parents were just really not happy. They didn't have a clue what this whole kind of online business was. They thought it was a joke. And so I was really kind of on my own in that sense. But I said, look, I'm gonna have to prove them wrong. I'm gonna have to prove everyone wrong. There's something I always say, and, you know, I still live by to this day, and that's, I'd rather be broke and live life on my own terms. You know, I think freedom is just so important, the freedom to live the life that you want. So I put my full efforts into my own business. I started my own clothing line. I was able to take on more clients. I was able to keep pumping out YouTube videos. And once you put 100% focus into something, that is when it is going to click. That is when things are gonna take off. I started reading a lot of books about improving my mindset, my attitude, becoming more confident, stop caring what other people think. And this is when life started to get really fun. I also had some more time to hit the gym. So things have really picked up in the last couple of months. I've got to travel the world doing what I love. Networking with some of the biggest names in fitness. Everything— my business, my YouTube channel— is growing at a nice rate, and I can truly say that I'm just happy with the way things are going. Every night before I go to sleep, I just put my hands in the air and just say thank you. But if you take anything from this video, let it be this: find out what you love to do and go hard at it. I know it sounds cliché, but I swear to God it's true. But keep in mind, people only see the end results. You're gonna fail tests, get fired, you're gonna encounter many problems along the way, but I want you to look at these problems in a positive way. They're all learning experiences. Time is not gonna slow down for you, so whatever it is that drives you, whatever you want in life, stop putting it off. Stop saying tomorrow or next week and just get started on it now. I'm not saying that, ooh, I've had it so hard or anything like that. I am simply telling you guys my story from then until now. This is just, you know, the beginning chapter of my life. So I just want to say thank you so much for following along, and there's plenty more to come, I can promise you that. Keep it real. Thanks for watching. Until next time. Sweet!
