Stop Waiting For The Perfect Moment

Rob Lipsett returns from Spain and films a legs workout at Raw Gym, then talks about waiting for the perfect moment to start something. He calls it paralysis by analysis and says beginners should just film on a phone. His post-workout meal: chicken, rice, peppers, onions in a salad bowl, about 200g protein daily.

What's going on everyone, back with another video. Now the last video I posted would have been the Marbella vlog when I was in Spain, and I really enjoyed editing that. The feedback you guys gave me was great, a fun video to make in general too. But that trip, that was mainly kind of like last minute trip, spur of the moment, and that was not so content focused as other trips. So I just kind of booked it last minute and was like, look, I'm just gonna have fun, not worry too much about vlogging, creating content, but if I do, I'm just gonna do it 'cause I want to do it. But now we're back in Dublin, okay, and I got back yesterday and then I have a full day today and then tomorrow I fly to Texas to the big kind of Alpha Elite Summer Shredding finale party and that'll be very content-focused, so I'm so excited for that. Anyways, today we've got a lot to do, a lot to prepare for. It's tough when you like come back from a holiday and you have to prepare for another trip away when you haven't even unpacked, but we're gonna get it done anyway. So I'm going to show you some meals, training, and just some daily life stuff. Let's get into the vlog. Okay, so for breakfast this morning, I'm going to have a shake. I usually have about 1 shake a day, 2 scoops of protein in it. So let me show you. It's about to go down. This is a new product from Myprotein. It's going to be their like kind of main protein from now on, setting a new standard. So their goal with this is just have this like the household protein. Like when you walk into a kitchen, boom. This is what you see above the fridge. So it tastes unbelievable. Vanilla cream flavor. I usually don't like vanilla, but I love this one. 5 grams of creatine monohydrate, usual vitamin D, fish oils, greens, multivitamin thing. I'm all out of coffee right now, so I'm just gonna have one of these for my caffeine hit this morning. Low-fat milk, banana, ice. Now we got a meeting. The meeting is actually in Raw Gym, and then we got legs and abs to do afterwards. Always like a good, like, solid leg session before I travel because, like, after I get off the plane, I'm always kind of like, meh, a little bit jet lagged, especially if I'm, like, traveling to America. So the last thing I want to do is hit legs. So today is going to be the day. And you always know I'm hitting legs, like, when I'm training upper body or, like, a push day, I'll wear, like, a stringer or revealing. Then when it's leg day, I'm like, yo, pass me that black baggy t-shirt there. This is one of the new Alphalete t-shirts, actually. It's got Alphalete in the back there. Then wearing some stretchy pants, some leggings. All right, let's go, Raw Gym Sandiford, and smash out this session. Definitely coming back from Arbea with a few good additions to my gym playlist. Filthy! Anyway, so a lot of you will know Samsung Ireland is a brand that I often work with, and I just think it's so cool that a massive company like Samsung even knows who I am. So they sent me out the new Galaxy S8, and I'm gonna record my workout in that to test it out for you guys and show you what it can do. Then afterwards, we're gonna have a little bit of chat about camera equipment, you know, recording, starting a channel. I just think there's an interesting point that I want to make. I'm just about to go and do this meeting now and then the leg session afterwards. Obviously, it's not gonna be the best one after a weekend with, you know, a little bit low on sleep, uh, dehydrated, and some lackluster nutrition. But we're gonna go in and see what we can do. Just outside now.
Please don't make me forget. Please don't make me forget. Your love is like a sweetness in my mouth. Hits me like an arrow.
Alright people, so what you just saw there was a legs and ab workout. Pretty good session filmed on the Samsung Galaxy S8, and now we're back on my Canon, and you probably won't even notice much of a difference because on both cameras I shoot in 1080p 60fps. 60 frames per second. But what I want to talk about now is that like people often get so ahead of themselves with YouTube and they always try and make everything perfect when it doesn't even need to be at all. Everyone's always like waiting for the perfect moment with anything. It's like perfect time to start a business, perfect time to start a YouTube channel, perfect time to join a gym. Like, I swear to God, this analogy applies for anything in life. And honestly, it's just paralysis by analysis. Like an entire year before I started YouTube or started a Facebook page, I was thinking about doing it. And so I would, you know, pretty much be a year ahead of where I am now if I just shut up and got on with it. And even the same, like when I was like deciding to quit my job and go full-time with what I'm doing now, it took me weeks and weeks and weeks to build up the courage to do that. So, you know, I'm definitely guilty of it. So if I can stop one person from, you know, just overthinking something and just get them to go do it, do that thing you've been wanting to do for ages, well then, you know, mission accomplished. So stop overthinking it, just do it, and most of all, have a bit of fun. So yeah, if you want to start a channel, I actually recommend most people just starting out on your phone, get a feel for it. I started my channel on phone and didn't buy a camera until I had about 5,000 subscribers, if not more. Most smartphones nowadays actually shoot in really, really high quality images, 60 frames per second, 4K even. So that's definitely a better option than like spending a ton of money on a new camera that you don't even need already. So onwards with the day, I gotta go hit the bank now and and then I want to call into my mammy and give her a big hug, 'cause I haven't seen her in ages. I'm going to Texas in the morning, so I won't see her for another 5, 6 days. So that is the plan for today. Back in the house, and now today I've eaten, I had that protein shake at breakfast, I had a protein bar after my workout, so I need to get a good solid meal into me, 'cause I'm very, very hungry. So I went, hit up the shops, got a few bits. Got a salad bowl. I live on these. There was one stage, like, during my cut where I was like deep into a cut— actually, it was during my contest prep— and I ate one of these with every single meal. Like, no matter what I was eating, I would put it in one of these. It's the only way to like fill up my ridiculous appetite. Mustard, because it's the ultimate condiment. Nonfat Greek yogurt, hot sauce, and moisturizer. Don't, don't eat this. Let's go cook a meal. I'm gonna make some chicken, some rice, some veggies, and combine it with this salad bowl. Okay, here is what is going down. We got mixed peppers, rice, chicken, onions, the lot. And then that is going to go on top of this. Then I'm also going to use this as like sour cream, and then the hot sauce. So a lot of people who come to this channel maybe hear from the calorie challenge videos, and so they might get the wrong idea of what my diet is usually like. So this is what the majority of my meals look like. Very, you know, big and high volume to satisfy my appetite. Lots of veggies, usually high protein. I eat about 200 grams of protein a day on average. And yeah, lots of flavor as well. I think vegetables like completely make a meal. I think they like flavor the meal. So yeah, a lot of people definitely got the wrong idea because they're commenting, it's like, why isn't this guy fat? It's like, cuz I never actually really eat like that. But next calorie challenge video will be coming, I'd say in the next month, probably after Ibiza. And it's gonna be, I think, tell me what you think actually. Actually, right, I think I'm gonna do 10,000 calories in one sitting. See how we get on. Anyways, I'm gonna enjoy this. Okay, finishing my day off with some of this stuff called Apo. It is kind of like low-calorie ice cream. In the whole pint, it's 425 calories, so not too bad. This is mint chocolate chip. Vanilla is probably the best. I'm not gonna eat the whole pint. Well, you know, I say that, but you know Alright people, I hope you enjoyed this video. So I'm gonna wrap it up here. So hope you learned to stop putting things off and get it done. Hope you learned a little bit about cameras. Hope you got some meal inspiration. You also saw what my diet is really like. So, you know, about 5+ servings of fruit and veg every day, sticking mostly to whole foods, and having a little treat at the end of the day as well. I know not as exciting as some of the other vlogs, but we are going to Texas in the morning first thing. So get ready for some cool-ass vlogs over there with the Alfley crew. Until then, keep it real, see you in the next one. Peace. Haven't even unpacked from Spain.
I'm gonna go back.
Yo, so I thought no better way to finish off this vlog than in Texas. Yes, we made it safe and sound. We're in Christian's house right now, so we are all just hanging out watching the basketball football game, the Golden Gate Warriors and the Cavs or something like that. So there's a good crew here, people. There's like so much like fitness food. So we got like Enlightened Ice Cream, there's protein bars everywhere. We got the crew, we got the homie Russ. What's up, y'all? So good to see you again. Uh, we got Mr. Max over there, Nabil. This is where we're all watching the game. Oh, they drop off. We got Javon. What's going on everybody? Who's winning the ball game? It's halftime right now. Halftime, alright. Go to the stadium. Okay, I'll take your word for it. Alright, good vibes all around, so I think this is a perfect way to finish up the vlog. Some serious Texas vlogs coming your way. I only just arrived, so I'm gonna get a good sleep tonight, rest up, and then absolutely smash this weekend.
