The 4 Week Shred (B.O.T.S Ep.12)

Rob Lipsett walks through a full day of his cutting phase, eating steak and eggs for breakfast, hitting chest and back at the gym, then tracking roughly 200g protein and 200g carbs daily to prep for a UK photoshoot. He explains carb backloading—saving most carbs for evening—isn't magical for fat loss, just helps with cravings.

What is up? So today, you know, I decided to do a little full day of eating video, but I don't want to call it that because, you know, full day of eating videos, you know, are very overdone on YouTube, and you often see, you know, people making fun of people who's like, you know, full day of eating number 22,000. So, so let's just call this a vlog with all my meals shown. And I like doing these because, you know, Irish people often, you know, they like seeing all the Irish foods that I use, all the Irish brands, because, you know, Obviously, the vast, vast, vast majority of YouTubers are American. So anyways, right, let's kick it off. I'll take you through my day and, you know, show the meals too. Let's go. Also, right, with me, anyone who's been watching this channel for a while knows that I often do this. I'm into carb backloading. But there are no special magic benefits to carb backloading. It's still all about your total daily intake, carb intake. I think Ben Pakulski and Alan Aragon had a spat over this a while ago. I reposted it on my Facebook page. Ben was saying you shouldn't eat carbs at breakfast for fat loss benefits 'cause of the insulins or some crap, and Alan Aragon just served him completely. Then you're probably saying, "Rob, then why are you doing what Ben Pakulski's saying?" I'm not doing it for any special magic fat loss benefits. I'm just doing it to deal with cravings and keep me more satiated, keep my appetite at bay. So, you know, when I move a large portion of my carbs to the nighttime, I get to have, you know, a big pre-bed snack. And it's kind of like, you know, having a big cheat meal every night. You know, you get to eat a big carb-heavy dish. So I'll show you what I'm cooking for breakfast today. All right, so for Brick Fasta, it is going to be classic steak and eggs. Uh, in this bit of steak. It is 12 grams of fat and 44 grams of protein. An egg is like 7 fat, 8 protein, depends on size of the egg. And then I'm just gonna throw in some mixed veggies with it as well. Now I'm gonna try poach this egg, but I don't really know how to. This is something I'm not good at cooking, but look, I'm gonna give it a try, show you how it turns out. Yeah, fucked that one up. Also gonna season this bad boy with some hot chili powder. All right, looking good. I might dice up that steak as well, and I also like it rare. All right, so that is breakfast. A huge liter of water, some diced steak and a fried egg, some leafy greens on the side, and I covered it in some sriracha sauce that I also got in Tesco. And I'm also gonna watch BioS3's Olympia predictions. Also, actually, on another note, one thing I think is very cool that the IFBB NPC are after doing, and it is opening the Classic Physique category, which the goal to winning that is basically look like a '70s, '80s bodybuilder, which I think is so cool. I think that that look is It is just aesthetics defined. So I think well done, you know, Arnold, when he called out Jim Mannion and stuff like that to get rid of the big fat guts. And you know, you're actually judged on having a small waist now. I think that's gonna be savage, and that is something I'm gonna follow. You know, of course they should have just changed the rules of actual bodybuilding instead of having to make another category, but it's still better than nothing. Then I always have 2 of each of these with breakfast. Alright, so gym outfit of the day is gonna be a purple Futura Machine Fitness stringer. Links and discount codes in the description box. And then just some gray slim fit bottoms. Alright, how does Rob Lipsett do his hair? Well, the answer to that is this stuff. It's stuff I've been using for years. Stonefish Clay. Fish Hairdressing, and it literally takes me about 10 seconds to do. I wet my hair first and dry it just so it's damp, I guess you could say. Yeah, just— that's actually, that's actually an important part, getting it the right ratio of like damp and dry. But, uh, use about that much. And we're done. That's it. Usually I have it like cut shorter on the sides, but, uh, yeah, that's a scoping. I literally just put it to one side and kind of up, so I just go like You know, a bit of that. So yeah, I hope this was informative and educational, but alright, so I'm gonna hit the gym. Swedish House Mafia. I remember I went to see them play in Phoenix Park. I think it was like 2012. Snoop Dogg was playing as well. It was still to this day the best concert I've ever been to. Comment down below if you were there. It was like a heat wave in Dublin. Everyone went insane. It was nuts. But, uh, anyway, so right, it is just coming up to half 12 now. Go in, hit chest and back, probably gonna try to get a bit of cardio done afterwards, get home, uh, for about 2, let's say. The workout shouldn't last too much over an hour. And then, um, get something to eat, get ready, and then I've got that podcast interview at 3 o'clock. And on the this podcast that I'm doing, there's been guests on it like Eric Helms and Brad Schoenfeld. So like, you know, they are top of the game, so I'm honored to be going on it. And, um, it's a Q&A, and you know, I'm obviously— I'm pumped up. Uh, it's— it's— they're just like top of the industry. So, uh, Jay Scott is the person who hosts the podcast, so I've got that after the gym. So that's the plan for today. Uh, let's go and smash it. I'm not gonna record this workout because today is— is focused on, you know, nutrition, meals, meal ideas and stuff like that. And when I combine a training video and a food video, it just gets way too long. So, you know, I like to try keep them separate. But anyways, I'll include a bit of a physique update as well. Alright, so just back from the gym, perfect timing. It's 2 o'clock, so I'm gonna get a quick high protein snack. And this is just so easy for anyone who wants to get a large amount of protein in very quickly. So I'm going to melt a a protein cookie in the microwave. There's like nearly 40 grams of protein in that. Uh, put it in about 200 grams of fajita. Again, the macros on fajita are just ridiculous. Per 100 grams, 4 carbs and 10 protein. So I'm gonna put in about 200 grams, and then I'm also gonna cover it in some of Myprotein My Syrup. The maple syrup one is definitely the best, so, uh, this should be pretty tasty. Oh yeah, and who says cutting has to be tough? Come on. All right, so that was very tasty. Again, just ate that outside because the weather is lovely today. But a few things I should probably tell you. I am dropping my carbs to about 250 to 200 grams just because yesterday I found out I've got a photoshoot slash video shoot with a company in the UK. I don't really want to I'm not going to say much about it. I'm a big believer in not talking about something until it's done. So that is in 4, between 4, just over 4 weeks. So I'm going to try and get as lean as I can for that. So yeah, this is just going to be, you know, kind of digging a bit deeper and kind of speeding up the cut, if you could say. Even though I'll give you a physique update now. This was taken a day or two ago. But so yeah, you know, I'm nicely lean, nicely coming along. And I think 4 weeks at lower carbs should have me at a perfect level. It should have me, you know, photoshoot ready. I'm not looking to get, you know, stupidly lean, but aesthetic anyways. So that's what I will be doing for the next 4 weeks. And if you're wondering why my macros may be a bit low today. So anyways, now it is coming up to 3 o'clock. I'm going to go get ready for this podcast interview, and I'll see you at the next meal. Excellent. Thank you. Have a good day. Alright, so just finished up that podcast there with Jay Scott. I will link that, you know, on my Facebook page in the description box as soon as I get it. It was deadly. We got along great and we talked about how I got into fitness, nutrition in general, training. It was like a big long Q&A. So if you want to know anything about me, watch that podcast. We pretty much covered everything. But anyways, okay, so while I was doing the podcast, it lasted just about an hour I got a delivery from Myprotein, and so it wouldn't be YouTube fitness if I didn't do an unboxing. So, alright, let's crack on. Also, the last kind of unboxing I did, I got all my main supplements, and the great thing about Myprotein is not only is it cheap, but they last for ages. So I'm not gonna run out of those fish oils, the creatine, vitamin D for months. But I'll show you what we got today anyways. Okay, so first up, this stuff. Game changer. Like, this, this is absolutely amazing, and it is the protein cheese. The macros on this— so I think it's like 25 grams is like 0.5 fat, 0 carb, and like 9 grams of protein. Whereas like cheese is usually terrible macros, like completely throws off your fat intake for the day. And this honestly tastes just the same as cheese, and I couldn't recommend this stuff enough. I'm gonna get my homemade pizza recipe up this week. This will be a star of the show. So yeah, really recommend this. Next, this is from MyVitamins. This is just vitamin C tablets that, you know, you drop into water and they fizzle up. I'm big into vitamin C. I find that when you're training your ass off, it stops you from getting sick, helps your immune system. Getting sick on a training session, on a training program, is the worst thing that can happen. I was actually a little bit sick, maybe you can hear it in my voice, over the weekend there. Just like 2 days and it sucked. So yeah, vitamin C. 2 bags of protein. This is— I'm trying out their— this is just simple old vanilla flavor. I'm gonna— see, I always have 1 bag for like Sarah's house, 1 bag for my house, just so I have protein wherever I go. This is golden syrup flavor and this is vanilla flavor with stevia. So that'll be really good for cooking. Protein pancake and stuff like that. So yeah, I'll leave a review on these soon. Now this, you know, I just got a blue bag and like, you know, a really nice matching pink one just so, you know, I can change things up. Not serious. This blue one is for me and then this pink one is for Sarah. Basically, when you're sponsored by a company or endorsed by them, you have to get like kind of staged photos, like semi-professional photos. So I got a his and her bag here, so you know, we're gonna get a cool kind of photo, both of us with our bag, so, you know, they can use on their social media and stuff like that. You know, I do that with Machine Fitness and, you know, any other company. So that's, um, that's something that you may not know, but it's kind of something you have to do to kind of help, help the company and, you know, give them content. So that's gonna be my new gym bag. This one is not. So that is everything today. If you want to look out for more supplement recommendations, go into my last unboxing video. That's my generic supplement recommendations there. This is just like a small little pickup. But if you want to help the channel grow, help me grow with Myprotein, the discount code is LIPSETTEN and the links are in the description box. Nice. Alright, so it is going to be a whole bag of brown boiled rice. I think there's like 80-90 carbs in that. Some Irish lean beef mince. 4.9 grams of fat per 100 grams. And then just some mixed veg, get the greens in. So yeah, we're just gonna throw this all together, really simple. The brown rice takes way longer to cook than white rice, but I just think it's more filling. It's got a little bit more fiber in it. I just literally prefer the taste. That's the only reason why I'm having it today. There's no like, you know, superior rice. It all comes down to your total daily carb intake. Okay, simplest shit ever. Throw this and that into that, followed by that. Also just put one of these bad boys in there. Beef, veg, and rice. It does not get any simpler. There you go, people. That's probably like 2 servings there, but like 1 serving for me. You know, I like bigger meals rather than, you know, frequent smaller ones. But yeah, I'll stick the macros for this, the whole thing, up on the screen. And I'm probably gonna put like some hot sauce or some sriracha sauce, some cream cheese on it, whatever. So remaining macros, I have got— I want to round it off at about 200 grams of carbs. Remember, I'm quote-unquote low-carbonate for the next 4 weeks. So I want to keep it around 200 grams, you know, maybe 250. I've got 10 grams of fat left, 40 grams of protein. So that is looking like some protein oats with almond butter. Okay, so last meal of the day. You know I am fond of a big old bowl of protein oats. So it is going to be about 50, 60 grams of oats, maybe more. I'm gonna try out the white chocolate in the oats. I'll let you know on screen how that was. And then about 10 grams of almond butter to hit the fats. Also, shout to The Juice Store for hooking me up with a load of these juices. Do I condone juice cleanses? No, I certainly do not. But adding juices like this and to your diet is a great way of hitting your micros, vitamins, minerals, and what have you. And they also do have the macros on them as well. So in this, there is like 16 grams of carbs. But yeah, so adding these to your diet, absolutely all for it. So thejuicestore.ie, thank you for that, guys. Gonna have one of these now. Alright, so finishing macros for the day are 198 protein, perfect. 52 grams of fat and just under 200 grams of carbs. So that's what I kind of want to be hitting for the next 4 weeks to bring in some shreds. But yeah, so hope you enjoyed this vlog with eating, full day of eating, whatever you want to call it. New LF gear coming in probably next week. It could be en route even, for all I know. I'm really excited for that quality and everything style is— it's gonna be sweet. It's gonna be a big step up. So very excited for that. I'm gonna go off train Sarah now, then I'm gonna get an early one. So hope you enjoyed. Catch you next time. Keep it real.
