THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

In this 2017 travel‑lifestyle vlog, Rob Lipsett returns from Bali to Dublin and walks viewers through a day that blends travel logistics, nutrition tracking, gaming banter, gym training, equipment repair, fashion showcases, grocery shopping, and channel‑growth updates. He and his friend Ben discuss macro‑counting for a 20 K‑calorie challenge, reminisce about old video games, and joke about starting a gaming channel. Rob shares his excitement about a YouTube partnership call, outlines his gym routine (including rack pulls and the concept of “life deloads”), and details a camera screen repair at a Dublin gadget store. He highlights his outfit, reviews a post‑workout meal, and promotes protein products. The vlog also teases upcoming collaborations with fellow creators (Lost LeBlanc, Joey D, Guzman) and a potential Ibiza trip, while promising future content such as color‑grading tutorials. Throughout, Rob balances humor, gratitude, and motivational positivity, positioning the vlog as a bridge between his recent travel adventures and the ambitious plans for 2017.

All right, okay, 1, 2, 3. Yeah, I'm going for that. Yeah, but I'm not, I'm not like working or anything. All right, so that concludes the trip, and today we're going to do a bit of a travel vlog, show you guys how I travel, what I do, what I eat, Let's get started. Thank you very much. Thank you.
Oh, Rob, fro-yo! No way!
Where? Are you serious?
I—
don't do that to me, man!
Come on, don't mess with the fro-yo!
Okay, look what we found, okay? Okay, seraphine, we're doing the calories in this, we're tracking the macros, okay? 33 servings. 30 grams, and let me see, per serving, 170 kcal, right? 30, 5610. Oh my God, you've gotten your— yeah, you're quarter way to the 20K challenge. That's great, thank you. That's over here. One day we will get upgraded to first class.
Goals.
Not today though. Quick, take a picture. Uh, yeah, yeah.
What are you doing, Rob?
Playing, uh, some old school video games. This is a beast called Battlezone.
This is what, uh, Rob's like when he's flying the drone. Yeah, pretty much. So when's the gaming channel coming?
Oh man, if I want to make it big, that's it. That's how you do it. You start a gaming channel. That's how you get big on YouTube. I used to play like so much Call of Duty GTA and Grand Theft Auto.
Oh, sorry.
They were like my two games.
And this is, uh, my video game.
Yeah, that's a productive video game though.
Ah, but at least you'll have the high score.
That's true, yeah.
That's bullshit, man.
What happened?
Playing this game for what, an hour? On the final boss level, I take an L, I lose, boss kills me, and it's like, do you want to retry? And I'm like, obviously Yes! It's so dark I clicked no by accident. Game over. That is my gaming career done. I'm sticking to fitness. I'm egging.
He's raging hard right now.
Screw this, I'm triggered.
What are those?
What are those?
Yeah, so now that we're back home, I can tell the real reason that I was on this trip. Rob only brought me along to carry his bag around this entire time.
Are you shitting me? That is Ben's bag and he loves it. And even the airport security slagged him off about it.
Yep, I'll accept it, I'll take it.
That arrow is back down to EY45.
Cheers.
Thank you. Is that everything? Alright guys, so we made it home. I'm not going to lie, I am happy to be back in Ireland and just in a familiar place. Now Ben, this is where we part ways. And we're going our separate ways for a while. Because basically Ben for February is going to Cambodia, um, with another YouTuber, Lost LeBlanc, or Christian LeBlanc. And it's so weird because we— me and Ben both watch him, and then he contacted Ben to kind of use his services for a month of February. And so I'm so happy for Ben to do that because Lost LeBlanc is just an awesome channel. So, uh, Ben, you're gonna have a kick-ass time. I don't know what I'm gonna do for February without you. I'm really gonna need to work on my editing skills and my camera skills, but that'll make me a better YouTuber anyways. So yeah, right, I'm gonna conclude the vlog here. Thanks for watching, keep it real. Yo guys, what is going on? Welcome back to Dublin. I love Bali and everything, but I'm happy to be home. I'm happy to not be living out of a suitcase and just back with a base of operations. I don't know what it is this morning, for some reason I still feel like it's It's the 1st of January, 2017. I'm on that New Year's hype still. I don't know why, just maybe because so far 2017 has just been action-packed. Collabs, LA, Bali, brought out a book, everything. So like, I've just promised, I've put this out there that 2017 is going to be a massive year and there's just so much more stuff yet to come. So today we got some phone call meetings. First one's at 10 AM, then I gotta go hit the gym, and then I gotta do some shopping and then I also have to go get my camera fixed. Just the one I'm using now, there's a screw loose on the flip-up screen, which is essential for vlogging. So we're gonna go into Camera Center on Grafton Street, get that sorted out. I'm gonna go have a light breakfast now, and I'll catch up with you in a minute. So yeah, for breakfast I'm just having like kind of a light snack. I'm having one of these Jimmy's iced coffees and then Lenny and Larry's cookies. Holy shit, I walk into the bedroom Fright of my life. Literally thought someone was trying to burgle the building, but it's just some dude cleaning the windows. Oh my God, I was like, this is some next level James Bond shit.
Congrats on your channel, it's really great and it seems to be going really well for you.
Really appreciate that, thank you. All right, so that was freaking YouTube on the line there, like the YouTube HQ. They decided to give me a call and just like, yo, if you like need help with anything, you know, verifying your channel or whatever it may be, or any like you know, campaigns and advice on how to grow your channel, this is going to be your point of contact now. So the fact that like YouTube just called me is amazing. I'm just like, damn it, like I never thought this would have happened when I first started my channel. I don't know, it's just really cool. And I'm definitely going to go to more like YouTube events as well. There's this thing called YouTube Space in London. It's like for creators to go to and they often hold events. So like I'm definitely going to take a trip there and I'd also love to do a meetup while I'm in London, please comment down below if you are from London. Now anyways, I just gotta do a little bit of packaging. Time to hit the office. All right, so I am off to the gym to, uh, fuck up some rack pulls. Today I'm wearing this kind of cut-up hoodie that I got in Bali in some surf shop, and I'm wearing these pants. They're like cuffed shorts or something, but they're like pretty tight as well. Say what you want about them, but I really like training in them. They just like, I don't know, they feel good. And then I'm wearing some flat-soled shoes because I'm doing rack pulls. I'm really happy to be back in Raw Gym lifting properly and back on my usual routine. Like, you know, when I'm away, when I'm traveling, it's essentially like taking a deload. A deload week is usually scheduled into your program after a really intense training block, or in this case, I like to do live deloads. So if you know you've got an event coming up where you're going to be taking it easy, you should cater your training towards that and maybe go really intense just before your trip away. So that's what I always always do. And now I'm back to my usual routine, so I'm back to hitting it hard. So yeah, to sum it up, life deloads are pretty much planning your training program around life events. So we're in Raw Gym and it feels like a new gym to me because they finally sorted out the lighting. You know, me and the owner of Raw were good pals, so I said, look, it's really not, you know, enjoyable to watch. And not to mention, all the members didn't like it either, so it wasn't just me. But yeah, so I'm back, back in Dublin, back in Raw, and we are fucking up some rack pulls. It's pull day, so I've warmed up And now we're doing 5 plates.
Feels good.
The traps being ignored over the past few weeks.
It's good to be back.
I'm feeling like hella lean right now. Like, I swear to God, Bali, walking everywhere, surfing, loads of activities, plenty of fruit and veg, picking some pretty solid meal choices. I think I leaned up a little bit.
Do I know this song? You might do.
Ah, sweet machine. Come on, come on, one more! Come on!
Oh God, oh my God! Good, bro. Time to go eat. It's a good workout. All right, let's see what Nutri-Quick is saying to me. Okay, so we got fillet salmon and couscous— couscous, I don't know how to pronounce it, but either way it looks good. And yeah, there's like 540 calories in this meal. Gonna inhale this, get showered, changed, and then I think I've got to go venture out into the outside world. So I'm chilling here eating this and watching some Mr. Maxx tuning. Max, if you're watching this, you're welcome to Ireland anytime. There's a couch with your name on it. Okay, meal consumed. Now I'm gonna have a Pro Bar Elite from Myprotein. Myprotein have like so much different protein bars. This is my favorite one. Link, discount codes in the description box. Okay, that is a little bit better. So ready to go to Dundrum now. I will show you what I'm wearing because you guys like the fashion stuff. This is like a lengthened long sleeve, uh, t-shirt from Rocks and Stacks. Uh, it's like a gym company that the owner sent this to me. Jeans from Set in Stone Clothing, they're very skinny but I'm gonna try pull them off. Adidas Shadows, and then I'm gonna put on this Movement watch as well. I made it to Dundrum and I'm praying there's somewhere here that can fix it because this screen is like hanging on by a thread. So let's go in. The stress of putting things in your pockets when you're wearing skinny jeans. So we went to the camera shop in Dundrum, they couldn't sort it, but then Be Cool Gadget Store, they absolutely hooked it up. They saved the day. So here, really appreciate it, brother. Thumbs up all around. And this is a really cool shop as well. Yeah, they got some cool stuff here. Thanks again. No worries. Just made it home and I got some groceries in Tesco that I wouldn't usually get. Okay, so that'll give you a little bit of clue of what the next video is gonna be. That's all I'm gonna say, not gonna reveal much. Just keep an eye on the channel and check out the next video. Alright people, tip if you are slacking on protein for the day and you need to pick up your total daily intake: one of these. Okay, this is like €2 big thing of 0% fat Greek yogurt. 50 grams of protein in that. Then I'm also going to add some natural vanilla Impact Whey isolate and then some blueberries to get some micros in. I also added some of this to it, and just to make things fucking look the part, we're gonna sprinkle some chia seeds on top. Yeah, that looks Instagram, kinda, not really. Damn, today I actually had such a good workout, like, you know, check out that picture. I didn't even need to put a filter on that bitch. I got a few shots. My plan for this evening is to sit here and teach myself how to color grade. I'm not moving until it's done. Color grading is like the new in thing. Also, another thing is I was talking to Joey D recently, and we're like planning our summer because summer is actually creeping up on us. And how sick would it be if me, Joe, and Ben all went to like Ibiza, documented it, and did like some proper epic really good edited videos and just like brought you guys along with us? And like, it'd be also sick to get someone like Guzman involved as well. So yeah, comment down below if you want to see that Ibiza trip happen. I think it would be epic. It'd be some good videos to look back on. All right, people, I'm wrapping this vlog up here now. I apologize that every vlog can't be as epic as, you know, going through the jungle in Bali exploring. But this is what you signed up for: a little lifting, eating, daily life, some goddamn positivity. But the next video is going to be epic, I promise you that. So be sure to check back. I'll catch you in the next one. I'm signing out. Keep it real. Peace.
