The REAL Morning Routine That Built My Life in Marbella

Rob Lipsett walks through his Marbella day: hypertrophy training in his upgraded home gym, the new Ghost Basics supplement line, a high-protein breakfast shake, lunch at Beast in the Forum, and a 6 km trail run with his local run club. He also tours his renovated house and shares how he tracks his calorie deficit through daily weigh-ins.

To explore the inner self, we turn away from the outer noise. In the light, all we'll find is others, but in the dark, we discover ourselves. Focus on the moment. One step, one breath, one heartbeat at a time. You like that cinematic intro? I think you did. If the comments in the last video are anything to go off, I'm gonna do a bit more effort to start off the video with some more cinematography. So back to reality. Last video was the High Rocks video. So the week after that, I've just kind of been recovering, enjoying going back into more bodybuilding hypertrophy style workouts. With that said, in May, next month, I do have a half marathon in Orange County doing it with the Alphalete crew. So very excited for that. So I need to get my running shoes back on again. But today anyways, we are just going to do a little day in the life in Marbella. The sun is back out. Gonna update you guys on kind of the rest of the year, what's going on, my training, what I'm currently eating. Like, even though we got this really nice lunch booked in today in this new spot called Beast in the Forum, it's a shopping center, shopping district in Marbella. So I'll show you guys a cool new spot as well. And we're just gonna have a nice little beautiful day in Marbella. So let's get into it. It's morning time. Let's, uh, get cracking on the day. Something that just launched and I'm very, very excited about. I knew it was a long time coming, but they are finally released, and it is the Ghost Basics range. Nothing basic about this. So it's just one ingredient foundation, so stuff that I've been taking for years, but truth be told, I've actually had to use like Amazon or other companies to get it from. And so now I'm delighted that Ghost, the brand that I work with that I absolutely love are making it themselves. So we have some good old creatine monohydrate. And creatine is like, it's obviously the oldest and most studied sports nutrition supplement ever, but in recent years it's actually really regained popularity in a lot of like general population, non-lifting circles. There's studies coming out saying how it's great for your brain health, it's neuroprotective. It's more so getting known as an overall health supplement, which I think is amazing. I always dream of a world where something like creatine and lifting weights. I always dream of it being the norm and the general population does that. I believe everyone would be a lot healthier as a whole. So awesome that Ghost is now making their own creatine products. Fish Oil Caps, something that I take year round as well. The concentrate is from wild anchovy, wild mackerel, and wild sardines. Very au naturel. We got vitamin C and glutathione. This is something that I take year round to avoid getting sick. I find that it works exceptionally well, and I tend to take that in very high doses as well. The research that I've looked into shows that it's more beneficial when you go above the recommended daily intake. We go hard on everything. And then next is digestive enzymes, which is something that I haven't really tried too much myself, so this is kind of new to me, and I'm really looking forward to that as well. We got a stainless steel shaker. How clean is that? We got a black hoodie that says SUPS. Perfect, it's made for me. As you guys know, code Lipsett for 20% off the best products in the game, and I'm very, very happy to goes, come out with something like this. Seeing as we do have a really big lunch, buck day, for around 1 PM, I am not gonna have a massive breakfast, just maybe like a protein shake, a little bit of fruit, something like to keep me going until lunch. It's not intermittent fasting, but we're banking a lot of calories for this lunch. All right, so first meal of the day, I'm gonna make a protein shake, chocolate chip cookie, my all-time favorite flavor, and I'm just gonna have that straight up with milk in a shaker. I'm gonna have an apple, we've got a little Pink Lady going on here. I'm just gonna handful of blueberries. I'm just gonna snack at these. Mm, fresh. Then I'm gonna have some Greens Mix as well. This is old school apple flavor. Some electrolytes as well. I usually smash these in the morning. And I find whenever I'm cutting down on caffeine, my caffeine intake, if I have these in the morning and a load of water, I'm like, I'm not tired at all. Like, I'm seriously awake. So oftentimes we think when we wake up, we're like, oh, I need caffeine straight away. I need caffeine for energy. You're just dehydrated. I always find having the greens powder like with fruit, I just feel really healthy. There's bits of cookie dough in it. So good. So crunchy. Has to be done until lunchtime. Also guys, quick update on Marbella's greatest home gym. So we moved things around. We got the ice bath all the way down here now. We have the cables moved a little bit further out. We got rubber flooring added in, which literally makes the biggest difference to being able to like throw your weights around. Speaking of weights, we got 50 kg dumbbells, so it's heavier dumbbells than some of the gyms here in Marbella. And I've just been training here non-stop the last week. Like, there's no workout I can't complete. Like, I can get a full leg day in, full back day, full chest day, shoulder day, everything. I've been training like twice a day. I thought a home gym, I wouldn't use it as much, and I thought it was kind of overrated, but I have to say I was completely wrong with that. I absolutely love it. The extra equipment like the squat rack and all the barbells and dumbbells, they're from an Irish company called Mixsport Ireland, mixsport.ie, and they arrived in like a week and just set it up, really easy to set up. And yeah, I kind of love having like supporting Irish companies and have them ship out here. The ice bath is an Irish company as well. It just makes you feel, feel better, patriotic, more at home. Training here in the sun for me is just peak made it. I just can't believe it. So I'm gonna get a little workout in here now and then we are gonna go for lunch. So we've got a run done today, a workout. I'm gonna be absolutely starving. All right, so we're here in Beast in the Forum and we are so excited. We just ordered the starters and like, you know when you read the menu and you just get pumped up? Like, I cannot wait. Some kind of different stuff than I usually eat. My diet's been very kind of plain and straightforward recently. Gonna really enjoy this. But beautiful day here in Marbella as well and we are getting ready to eat. Yeah, so that's, that's the actual restaurant in there. Alright, so this is called the Beast Tartare, and the owner said we have to try this. Okay, a little bit out there, definitely not for Linda. Like, it doesn't get more raw than this, but I'm excited to try. I'm gonna put a little one of these on as well. Oh my God, that is amazing! Is it the best tartare? Yeah, that is like, like, oh my God, it's so fresh. That is unbelievable. Okay, we got this and then two big black cods coming as well. I'm in heaven! So this is the signature Beast Roll. This looks like art! Look at that, let's go! So it's like prawn, tuna. That's crazy, that is a different sensation. It's like our new favorite place. It's our new favorite spot, genuinely. Oh my God, Linda, you got to try that! All right guys, it is the final boss. This looks absolutely insane. Like, we've ate so much, like, we just couldn't stop. It was so good. Okay, and I know you guys like Marbella food spots. I know you guys like seeing me eat. Also, this month, 20,000 calorie challenge. I think it's time I do it again. We'll talk about that later. Right, we have this decadent black cod and we have this fried rice that just— that looks like just as good as the main. So we're going to dig into this now and then we're going to make our way. But that is— that's just phenomenal. Alright, so just back at home now. And yes, despite eating such a big meal, I still always have room for dessert. My appetite at the moment is actually pretty high. So I made a creamy— this has, I think, near like 50 grams of protein. It's like 400 milliliters of protein milk, a scoop of whey, and one Oreo, just kind of like add some color, some texture to it and give it a bit more flavor. Absolutely delicious. Something I have every day, as you guys probably know at this stage. So I'm gonna finish up today here, Saturday night. Pretty tame one, just chilling, staying in, recording some more videos for a project that I am launching in about a month, hopefully. And then tomorrow morning, waking up nice and early as the run club that I host here in Marbella, that I founded, started, hosted, whatever. It's like grown legs, like bigger than me now. So the run club that I host here in Marbella, we are doing a trail run tomorrow. First time doing this, can't wait. It is a 6K trail run, so it's gonna be like up the mountains It's going to be really cool. So I'll see you guys in the morning for the trail run. Good morning! Morning everybody. So you've probably seen online all these morning routines going viral because your man Ashton Hall got like a billion views or something. I actually love it because he's in the fitness industry. I think it's quite funny. As you've seen, all these morning routines are going viral. First of all, mad respect for him for just like making a trend. Half it's a joke where he jumps in the air for 4 minutes. I think it's awesome. But in terms of morning routine, yeah, I do all this stuff as well. But oftentimes when you got a load of things to do, the best morning routine is whatever gets you to work as fast as possible. So wake up, smash an energy drink, smash a coffee, and just get to your desk. That's pretty much it. 4-minute morning routine, if even. But if I want to take my time, you know, I'll lift some weights, I'll take my time with a coffee, I'll do a bit of journaling, I'll do an ice bath, I'll just potter around the house, you know. But that's a luxury. It's not a productive morning routine. So I'm gonna dry off now. I should probably have a light breakfast as we're doing this trail run. We're gonna do that anyways, and it's gonna be a good time. So let's see what the turnout is like as well. The turnout That will definitely be lower, 'cause like with the run club, it's on the Golden Mile. You know, like 50 to 70 people show up. It's nice and easy. This, we'll see who shows up. It's going to be tough, but right, let's get something to eat, something light. All right, so this is the fit that I'm going for today. Alphalete Power Compression Top and the Infinity Shorts. And I'm just feeling a light breakfast again today. Just going to have a little bit of dark chocolate. This is from Mercadona. So, so good. A few little berries as well. It's actually a nice combination. Mm, gonna have this, a lot of water, electrolytes, and go hit this trail run. Then probably have like a nice big feed again for lunch. I'm excited. Mm, off we go. Also, you will not be seeing the Mercedes for much longer. In about a month, maybe 2 months, when I go back to Ireland, getting a new car, something bigger for Baby Lipsett to go in the back. Something with 4 doors. Pretty much decided on what I'm getting, but I'm still kind of like, in between 3 choices. But yeah, it's been like since 2018 since I've gotten a new car. Like, some people, they get so much new cars. I think I've held out quite a while where I deserve to get something nice now. But like, after like the wedding, the renovation, everything, I was like, I need to give it another year until I have a big purchase. So I think now is the time. But right, let's go up into the mountains. Oh, 3 days ago. Everybody is over there. Time to go get warmed up. But this is absolutely stunning. Like, one minute you're in the city, the beach, the mountains. Unreal. Right, let's go, let's smash this. So here's the crew here. Everyone is just grabbing as much protein bars as possible. We're fueling up for our run. This is just unreal. This is the route. This is everybody here. We're about to take off. 6 kilometers. Let's hit it! All right, trail run done. We're doing a little bit of fun and games. So when your number is called, you have to run and grab the bottle. And then you go over your number. Yeah, and remember your number as well. And then the winners go over here. 3! Run club done! Epic trail run, nice change of scene, a few new faces there, love to see it. And now we are at home, we are getting our health on. So we've got a big old salad there, avocado, apple, walnuts— walnuts, walnuts, that is the first time I've ever said walnuts— walnuts, goat's cheese. God damn it, I'm losing my mind here. Linda has a Caesar salad here as well. We're just going gonna eat here with the door open. So nice. Just a little chill time. All right team, back in the office where I spend most of my time. Let's have a little chit chat and then wrap up this epic weekend vlog. These are coming from Instagram. Best part about living in Marbella— that is something that gets asked a lot— and I have to say, just the day-to-day life. Waking up and seeing a palm tree does things to your brain. So just like, if I actually wasn't really into the gym and fitness, I don't know if I'd enjoy Marbella so much. Just like getting outside, getting active, and getting in nature, being in the sun, and just frolicking around, you know, swimming, lifting, hiking, running. That is, that is just the best. And then of course the community, the people you meet here, everyone is kind of like, is a very international community. I think in Nueva Andalucía, this neighborhood, I think 80% of the population of the residents are international. So it's really cool. You meet a lot of good people as well. It brings like the best of the best. Very nice atmosphere, very nice community, and everyone kind of knows each other. Planning another HIROX. So what, first of all, really enjoyed HIROX. I haven't even spoke about my aftermath of it yet. I really enjoyed it. I definitely enjoyed it more than Ryan. Ryan said he wouldn't do it again. I would definitely do it again. But the thing I enjoyed the most about it, yeah, you feel amazing after putting in an incredibly hard workout, but I just really liked the atmosphere in the stadium itself, in the convention center, whatever you want to call it. It reminded me of being at an expo, which you guys know I really, really like. Just a very friendly atmosphere, and that's why I want to do the one in Dublin in November at the end of the year. So yeah, I want to do another IROX, and mainly just for the crack, just because it's a good atmosphere and I, I like the vibe on the day. Two questions here: best Marbella beach party spot, and then most affordable beach clubs in Marbella. So the best Marbella beach spot that I like, just for— it's always a safe bet, there's always someone there, there's always a DJ playing, the food is amazing— that's El Chiringuito in Puente Romano. You You can go there 7 days a week, it's gonna be nice. It goes off as well on the weekend, but it's nice and chill during the week too. And then if you want like a proper party, go to Playa Padre on a Sunday. It is like one of the best nightclubs, beach clubs in Europe at this stage. Like, it is, it is crazy. It's really good, and it's just, you're always guaranteed a good night. Most affordable beach clubs, to be honest, can name like a bunch of random ones, but if you just want to go cheap, you know, you want to have a low-cost day, which I'm a big fan of the odd time myself, you can just go down to one of the public beaches 10 10 meters away from the most expensive ones. And you can just park up at a hotel, you bring down some food, your own drinks, bottle of wine if you want, a few cervezas, and you'll have an epic day. Like, you're swimming in the same sea. You're 10 meters away from places like Marbella Club and MC Beach, or the ones I just mentioned. You're like meters away. It's the same sea. So that's one great thing about Marbella. The public beaches are just amazing, and you can just go plant yourself there with a group of people and have like a 10 out of 10 day. Whereas, for example, in Dubai, all beaches are super private. Like, security will literally come and tell you to get lost if you park yourself down there. But if you want like an affordable beach day, just go to one of the beaches, the public beaches, and bring your stuff and you'll just have a perfect day. How long did it take you to find and transform your house? So the house kind of came looking for us. We actually weren't like actively trying to find it. We had a friend who worked for the property company that was selling it, and they contacted us and they're like, Rob, you are just gonna want to get this place for the price it's at and where it is and everything. And then put in 10 to take it off the market the day it went on the market, just because I knew so many people were trying to buy it. It was a great offer and it had a great potential renovation job. It was going to be very profitable, which it was. The price has increased dramatically. The value has increased dramatically. So it kind of just found us. In terms to transform it, from the moment a hammer hit the wall, it took 7 months until we spent our first night sleeping here. But then add that, like, we were still doing the kitchen while moving in. We only did the outdoor last summer. Bar. So that took like an extra year. But in terms of actually being able to like live and sleep here, it took 7 months, which was really quick. We had amazing builders. If you guys want my contacts with all my builders and architects and everything, shoot me a DM on Instagram and I'll keep an eye out for it. How do you know your calorie deficit is working slash you're losing fat? A lot of questions like this. A lot of people are trying to get shredded coming off the summer. And in terms of like how you know if you're on the right path, you're gonna have to do daily weigh-ins for the first 2-3 weeks and take a weekly average. And if the scale is moving in the right direction, then you're on the right path and you're in deficit. Things like, like visually, like noticing visual differences and noticing your clothes fitting different and people complimenting you and other people noticing, that's going to take a couple of months or a couple of weeks maybe, depending on where you're at. But in terms of knowing in the short term quickly to know that you're on the right calories, daily weigh-ins. And a lot of people, like, they hate on scales. They say it doesn't tell everything, which is true. There's so much other factors. The scales is still just very easy way to know you're going in the right direction. It's just do a fasted morning weigh-in after going to the bathroom. Takes literally seconds and it can tell you a lot. I'm going to wrap things up here. I hope you enjoyed today's Marbella vlog. See you in the next one. Keep it real, mate. Here, peace.
