THERE'S A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING

Rob Lipsett walks through a Saturday of gym, content creation, and flying a drone for the first time at a friend's place in rural Dublin. He discusses his pre-workout stack, favorite lifting shoes, and the frustration of trying to get a mortgage as a YouTuber when banks only trust traditional 9-to-5 income.

What is going on everyone, welcome to today's video. Now the plan for today is, right, we're gonna get something to eat, we're gonna go hit the gym, and then we're gonna go meet up with Ben. We're going to this field with no buildings around to fly the drone so I cannot crash the thing. If something goes wrong today, I just will not be able to live with myself, but I'm so excited. I've never ever flown a drone before, so sit back, relax, give the video a like, and let's have a bit of a day in the life. We are doing Sarah's thumbnail. Uh, what we use for thumbnails is canva.com. You are looking great. Who would not want to click on that video? Come on. Pre-workout for today is, I think, 4 of these Nitro Extreme capsules. The ingredients in them is just like a bunch of nitrates, like citrulline, norvaline, grapeseed extract, etc. I actually haven't looked into the science behind them, but I like this. And then I'm also going to take a fat burner. I've done a video before on how fat burners are basically just pre-workout in a pill. The main ingredient is just caffeine, so I'm just gonna have one of these. Also, check what I just tweeted. How cool are those new lifting shoes? Romaleos and new Adipowers. It's like Yeezys for lifters. Get at me on Twitter. But these are like my favorite all-round lifting shoes. I use these for like rack pulls, straight leg deadlifts and stuff. And even today is a push day, I use them. I've had them for like over a year and they're still holding up. Leather, all white, high top Converse. They are also slick as fuck too. These are my squat shoes. So yeah, I think I'm due an upgrade. One stripe has fallen off. Gym done. Pretty good session, mediocre. But I know I'm gonna get asked this, and it's like, why do I wear those elbow sleeves? Well, they're not actually elbow sleeves, they're actually knee sleeves. But when your arms are obnoxiously big, you need knee sleeves. I'm just joking, but they really don't increase my bench that much. It's kind of just like a bit of placebo, if anything, and it gives you a bit of confidence. It's like, you know, shoulder pads or a skull cap don't make you a better rugby player, but some people just like to put them on just to feel more confident on the pitch. You just feel kind of more secure. But anyway, so now I'm gonna go home, eat, and then I'm gonna head up to like near Ben's house because he lives in the kind of like mountainous area in Dublin, so the risk of crashing this thing is gonna be lowered. So I made a bowl of oats and then I put about 30 grams of this organic cacao powder. This is very nutrient-dense and it also makes your oats very, very chocolatey, so— Okay, so now it's time to head off up the mountains towards Ben to fly this drone. I have been putting this setting in 60 frames per for a second because apparently this enables me to do slow-mo. So Sarah, if you just hold that there, I'll just do something that'll look cool in slow-mo. Uh, all right, let's go! All right, here we are. So that wasn't too bad, it was like a 15-minute drive. So we're here in Casa del Kili, uh, the actual name of this place called Rancho Relaxo. That's his address. I thought he was taking the piss out of me when he told me that. Actually from The Simpsons. So I am so down with The Simpsons. All right, so we're gonna figure out how to kind of activate this drone. We gotta like install the app and everything. So yeah, we're about to, uh, fly drone out. It is like perfect weather, perfect conditions, and we couldn't be in a more open place. So let's hope we just don't crash it into the Sugarloaf. Is that it there? Okay, we should be okay. Right, I think that is going to conclude its maiden voyage, and we are going to look up a lot of YouTube tutorials on how to do this properly and exit beginner mode. Okay, so it wouldn't be Christmas season— Christmas is over— it wouldn't be post-Christmas season if you didn't have some leftover turkey and ham. So that is what I'm going to quickly have. Now usually whenever I'm like making meat or anything, I always have it with like, you know, potatoes and vegetables, but Christmas ham and turkey just tastes so good, I'm gonna eat it on its own. And I need to hit like my carb intake and protein intake. I literally just get protein powder and oats and just blend them. It is definitely the easiest way to hit your macros. And then if you need fat, just add in peanut butter or almond butter or anything. It's just so easy when you got a blender. So I like showered, shaved, freshened up, got into some comfy clothes. Hell yes, these slippers. Sarah has actually gone down to Killkenny for the night just with a friend. They're having like some girly sleepover or something. So it's just me here on my own in the apartment. Speaking of which, I haven't given an apartment tour in nearly a year, so let me just show you quickly for any new subscribers. So there's the main door, you come in hallway, then this is the room I spend most of my time in. It's my office. There's some clean laundry. That is like— that is my place right there. Wardrobes, dressers, Arnie poster, bedroom. Ensuite. Guest bathroom. What up? And then this the main living room. TV that doesn't get used. Selfie mirror that does get used. Balcony, it is on the top floor. That is where I eat. That is another balcony. And that is where I cook. The reason I am talking about my apartment is basically because our lease is up at the end of February. That's where we moved in. So right now we're looking for new places. We absolutely love this place, location, everything. It's like so perfect, but we just want to move. Um, you know, it's fun, it's, it's a change, and yeah, it's nice to like switch things up a little bit, especially when you're young and you can move around. We will be renting for another year, which sucks. I hate renting because it's like, it's— you're putting money towards something you'll get no return in, whereas buying a place you can rent it out or you can sell it in the future. Unfortunately, in today's day and age The banks, if you want to get a mortgage, they don't really support entrepreneurs, which is— it's funny because I had more chance of getting a mortgage when I worked, you know, a typical 9-to-5 job in an office, even though I earned like so— 5 times less than I do now because it's not a steady fixed income, which doesn't even make sense because when you're an entrepreneur and you work for yourself, you have multiple streams of income, and if you're doing things right, your income actually increases from month to month. And not to mention, it's actually unsafer working for someone else who can just fire you for no reason. Maybe they don't like you. Whereas when you're working for yourself, that you decide how hard you work is going to define your income. For some reason, the banks just want everyone to do the conventional system. So yeah, it's very tough to get a mortgage, especially what I do, being YouTuber, social media influencer, you know, public speaker, all the things I do. It's very new, so, you know, it's only really came about in the last year or two. But complaining about it is not gonna do a thing, so just gotta get on with it and work until you can buy a house in full, which you've probably seen a couple of YouTubers do. So that is just kind of like my musings on my living situation and what I'm gonna do next year. It's all good though. I'm just gonna relax for this evening, hit my laptop for a couple of hours. I'm gonna end this vlog here. Hope you enjoyed it. Leave it a thumbs up if you did. Thank you for watching. Keep it real. I'm out of here. See you in the next one.
