The atmosphere in there is, is ridiculous. I've been there a few times on this channel, but today we're doing a collab with someone. I'll wait until I get there to tell you who it is. You may already know, but either way, let's get the day rolling. I'm excited. Welcome to today's vlog. This morning, start the day off right, we got some Kodiak cakes and some turkey bacon. There goes Jim Venice.
Thanks, have a great day.
All right, here we are. We're in the Mecca. So good to be back. Just being here gets me pumped, gets me excited, gets the adrenaline going. So let's head on in, meet up with everyone. Now I am sat outside the one and only Gold's Gym Venice. I got one hell of a video coming your way because the crew that's about to come down, we're about to collab with, is a very good crew. So sit back, relax, enjoy today's video. All right, so we're in goals, we're in, and today's special guest is none other than the Amanda Bucci. She is absolutely killing it right now. I subscribed to her a long time ago for content. Yeah, no, I did. I'm not, I'm not just saying that for the camera. Yeah, no, I actually We subscribed to each other for quite some time. Yeah, I think we like found each other around the same time and just, you know, both our content, it just matched. And so it's crazy that I'm here in California now and we're doing a collab together. So I'm so excited. I'm gonna hit a push day. What are you training today?
Uh, legs with Sarah though.
Perfect.
But we'll be filming each other's workout and then we're gonna be doing a Q&A later and we're opening up your Snapchats and we're gonna just like have fun with it. Nothing serious.
So try, try Try not send that many nudes, you know, just please.
I always tell people to send something entertaining and not stupid, and then they like kind of take it more seriously.
Okay, all right, anyways, let's get this workout going.
You know how I feel. Loving you is hard. Being here is harder. You take the wheel. I don't wanna do this anymore. It's so surreal. I can't survive. If this is all that's left, all I wanna do is get high by the beach. Get high by the beach. Get high. All I wanna do is I would fall into your bullshit when you would pay tribute to me, 'cause I know that all I wanted to do was get high by the beach. Get high, baby, baby, bye-bye. I'll do it on my own. Don't need your money, money to get me going. All I want to do is get high by the beach. Get high by the beach. Get high. All I want to do is get by by the beach. Get by, baby, baby, bye-bye. The truth is I never bought into your bullshit when you were introducing me to All right, so workout completed.
So me, Sarah, Javon, and Amanda, we are making our way to Firehouse, which is like— it's like the closest restaurant to Gold's Venice. So it's like a bodybuilder restaurant. You can get very kind of like high protein, macro-friendly foods. So I cannot wait for that. I will show you what I get when we're there. All right, so this is Google offices and it is right beside Goulds. Apparently it is like the best place to work ever. Look at that dude just chilling on his lawn. The Google offices in Dublin are also a very cool place to work. All right, so check it out. So you got breakfast, omelets, egg whites. And here we got the bodybuilder's menu. Even got the Bob Bowl. Kind of sounds like Rob Bowl, so might get that. Salads. Okay, I'm spoiled for choice here. This is perfect. And can I get some mustard? Well, so this looks amazing. This is just like egg whites, buffalo meat. It's like proteins. And then we got like loads of salsa, egg white omelets, just like egg whites and ground turkey. Amazing. Yeah, so Amanda just on the sly paid for our whole lunch. Super sneaky.
She's too good.
We're gonna buy her fro-yo. We're gonna get her back by some fro-yo when, when it, when it's her high carb day.
Next time.
Yeah, next time. All right, yeah, rolling. Sweet. So we just finished our lunch there. It was so nice. We're ready to just answer a few questions, so I'm kicking them off. My Instagram and Snapchat. Any advice for those who have no clue about what to pursue/do?
Absolutely. Um, if you have no idea what to do, number one thing is to focus on like what makes you happy. So if you are not doing something that makes you happy on a day-to-day basis, you're never going to be happy 10, 20, 30 years down the road. So even though it might not seem like you can make a career out of something that makes you happy, You always can figure something out. Obviously be realistic, um, figure out like kind of the, I guess, genre of things that make you happy, whether it be like something artistic, something science-y, and then based off of that, what you want to do.
Yeah, I, I always say like, just try— remember the last thing. Oh my God, that motorbike's so loud. It's good, it's good. I always say you did it on purpose. I always say, like, think of the last thing you did that made you smile, that like made you really happy. And that can be like anything in the last week or the last month, and just focus on that. And like, you know, like, like I'm going to say, be realistic, but there are like crazy things in the world. There are like some businesses, huge business. Like, who would have known the most successful car company, Uber, owns no cars? Like, you gotta sometimes think outside the box.
I'm like, there's a lot of like forward-thinking things nowadays where like you wouldn't even think being a YouTuber is a career, or an online coach, or like obviously you don't have to do those things if you're not into fitness or if you have other passions, but there's so many things that you can do.
Yeah. So I think the last thing that made you happy— what age did you start going to the gym? Well, like I played sports, I played rugby ever since I was like 13, 12, and that's like, you know, our version of American football.
Oh yeah, yeah.
USA team is actually getting better. Yeah. And so like, I did that, I did a lot of like conditioning work, and I found that, you know, when I got a little bit older and then I was on like, you know, the senior panel and stuff like that, we started moving into the weights room, and that's when my love for weights began. And then as I got older, around 19 when I left school, I stopped, um, rugby and I just focused fully on weightlifting. So what age did I start going the gym properly, I'd say when I left school at 18 or 19.
Um, I would say that I started going to the gym when I was actually 15 years old because I played sports too. I played, um, soccer and I did not make the soccer team in high school. I tried playing lacrosse and I was like super mediocre. And my mom actually got me a personal trainer when I was 15, so I started— I had a really, really good introduction to lifting because I had a personal trainer and I was involved in like an athlete training program where they taught us how to do compound movements, and they taught us how to do conditioning stuff. It was for like the kids in high school, and it was awesome. Um, so I had a really good introduction to lifting when I was like 15 years old. So it's been about 8 years.
And how much you love peanut butter, to the point where we actually can't have it in the house.
I'm getting to that point too. I've thrown a couple jars away because I was like, I think this is slightly dangerous for my health.
Give me a spoon and a jar of peanut butter, and it's disastrous.
I agree.
And, uh, here's Another quick one. What is the best method to burn fat? Caloric deficit.
Caloric deficit. Let's say that together.
Yeah, a caloric deficit. Basically, like, so many people think there's like magic tricks, magic foods, and like special diets and stuff. And like, you can do— you can low carb, you can paleo, you can do whatever the hell you want, but you're not in a deficit, it's physiologically not possible to burn fat. And a lot of people, they go on a certain diet and they think, oh, I'm just like eating a certain way, but that way is just putting you in a deficit without you really—
right, right. So if you're tracking your food, that's the only reason why we track our macros, is to ensure that we are in a caloric deficit, or if we're in a caloric surplus, to gain muscle. And that's, that's pretty much it. It's very basic.
Yeah, that, that's, that's like the fundamentals.
Yeah.
All right, people, wrapping things up there. Please go over to Amanda's channel. You will not be disappointed. She's absolutely killing it. This very time. Like, she is growing so fast. Thank you. But yeah, so we're like both kind of like, you know, new-ish to the game, so it's just so awesome that we can do this collab. Honestly, go check it out.
Bye guys, catch you guys later.
Perfect.
