Rob Lipsett and Joey spend two days in Barcelona sampling Spanish street food, hitting a rooftop pool and gym, then organizing a fan meetup that draws a crowd despite the rain. They share their formula for an epic European day: coffee, local food, staying active, and ending with people.

¡Hola, amigos! ¡Hola, folks!
Hair progress better than ever.
It's covering me face up, man.
We made it to Barcelona and first thing we're after seeing is the hotel is not only close to Starbucks, it's literally above it. Like, it's literally attached to it. Hotel roommate Anna, Starbucks. And that's what we need right now because we both caught 6 AM flights from Manchester and Dublin, so we're a little bit tired. We're gonna check in now, get iced coffee. This hotel is. Oh, smash! Very nice indeed. And cool little sneaky shower around here. And that's— oh my God, it's, it's see-through in from the inside but not from the outside. Wow, massive bed, very stylish. This reminds me of Kill Bill. And then Barcelona. No! Oh my God, stop! Oh my God, this is unbelievable. What a city. What's going on, Barcelona? They're literally— oh yeah, we got one wave! Okay, right, this happens every single time, right? Like, it's just, it's just, it's— I can't have that in the open or I will eat all of it. Like, I need to hide it somewhere, just somewhere, anywhere, but I cannot have this in the open even though there is a protein bar. Proteca, right? I'm gonna freshen up, um, I actually look dreadful right now, so I'm going to freshen up, get changed, get some shorts on because it's a beautiful day, and then we're going to go exploring. What are the steps to having an epic day in a European city? Step number 1, get coffee, lots of it, ice, large, probably black as well. Oh, boom! For you, sir. Yeah, look at that. That black gold, man. It's black gold. How does that make you feel?
There's no way that my face can show adequate enthusiasm.
I can't even see you, your hair's in the way.
Oh, is the camera on me?
Oh, I didn't even know. Wow, man, we could do a Barcelona food challenge. Step number 2 to having an epic day in a European city is enjoy the local cuisine, which we will certainly be doing every single day. We're currently cruising around looking, we're like eyeing out a tapas spot for dinner. But we're still about that life, you know, we're gonna expend a lot of energy, do a lot of walks and earn that dinner.
Basically, the walking combined with a bit of an overall general body pump you get from the heat, it just makes for like good bits.
Good nutrient partition, is that what you call it? Yeah, exactly, man.
Deliver that to the muscles.
What's this for? For an abortion. Very good. Repeal the 8th.
What is it?
The legal reform of abortion in Argentina. Yeah, basically, right?
Yeah, I was gonna express political views. Yeah, wait a minute, that's YouTube.
Yeah, no religion, no politics, just food and lifting.
Yeah, just keep it vanilla, man.
That feel when Joey sees— I am spotting these dates, mate. Yeah.
I'm going to dive right into that. They look juicy as well.
Yeah, let's do them.
Let's do it.
Yeah, look at that little nice box ready to go. If you frequent the Joey D vlogs, you'll know his obsession with dates, and he gets me on them as well. Like, I forget how good they are. It's literally like caramel fruit. Yeah, it's like caramel fruit.
It's nature's caramel.
That's actually like— that's very caramel.
One of the best dates I've ever had.
Yeah, that's sick. Oh my God, thank God.
Thank you, good sir. Legend.
Oh, I like spicy. Yeah, yeah, we'll go for this. Yeah, yeah. Everyone's in the best mood ever. Right, so we survived the food market, just about. We had breadsticks and chorizo, we had the medjool dates, which are a must. We were about to hit up the dessert bakery stand, and we're just saving that for another day. We did the smart option and went for this little fruit bowl for €1. So this is what we're having for lunch. Going to do a little bit more walking. So yeah, that is step number 3, enjoy the local cuisine and get active. Just back from our walk, we are hot and sweaty, so we're going up to rooftop pool and see what it's like, and then beach later. And I'm throwing these bad boys, discount code Lipsett40 for 40% off. Rooftop pool, you ready?
Rooftop pool, let's do it.
See what's going on. Perfect. Empty bar. Yeah, okay, um, lack of pool, right? Other side it is. All right, so we had a little siesta and went up to the pool, cooled off for a little bit, and then we had an editing party, right? That's what we do, okay? It's honestly a lovely thing to do, just look at the photos that you took during the day and just be like, that was a sick day.
Make us tidy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like, mm, that sound effect means— so now we've noticed we've ate shit all protein, and that is what one thing, like, we are about that life. We are semi-dedicated when we travel. So we Google Maps protein supplement store, and that's what we're on the lookout for now. I'm craving some protein, so we're going to find some weird Spanish protein brand, going to eat that, then we're going to go out for dinner. Good selection. This is what we wanted. Don't ruin dinner though, don't ruin the paella. The name, shout your shop out. Yeah, sure. Excellent nutrition. What's the address? Excellent, great store, love it. This is what we're going for, banana and cinnamon roll. Channel, that's where you can find the protein bar reviews, they're infamous. Last one was Thailand, it was sick.
Yeah, that was a funny review.
Yeah. That's where you go for the protein bar reviews, right? I'm switching off. Let's do it. We've been up since 3:30 in the morning, but honestly, we had such a good day today, especially with that meal. Just some way to finish up. What are you laughing at?
I'm laughing because you said we've been up since 3:30, as if like we got up together.
It's a communal effort, you know.
Sounds like we both got up out of the same bed.
Yeah, yeah. Come on, honey, time to go to the airport. Right, we've been up for a long time. It's time to hit the hay. We're gonna try organize a meetup tomorrow, so let's see if anyone shows up. But yeah, some more action-packed Barcelona adventures. See you tomorrow. Keep it real. I'm outta here. Peace. See you in the next one. Bye. All right, good morning everyone. It is day 2 in Barcelona and we're just about to go downstairs, get some Starbucks, and we're recruiting one more person to the Spain road trip crew. You've met him before, so anyways, here it goes. You're gonna meet him again. Let's get the day started. Anabolic sandwich, yo! What's up, mate? How you doing? I'm good. Oh, get rid of this. Good to see you again. Sandwich, yo. Anabolic, yeah. See, I'm a big fan of Ernest's channel, so I know this. No, we don't have it. No, we don't have it. Only, only this in Barcelona. Good to see you, man. So good to see you. Yeah, so anyways, you may remember Ernest from Thailand. Yeah, with his this guy as well. So the crew, the Koto Crew, we're back. I prefer any cast. What's the name of this gym? And we're in a McFit. You know McFit, right? Yeah, yeah, I was in one at FIBO in Germany. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One day we'll be up on that wall, man. And now, and then push day about to go down. Yeah, this is sick. We're going high rep today, probably going to do about 3 to 4 sets. We'll see now. ¡Vamos! Let's get into it. Alright people, so workout done. Now we're getting a little bit of a walking tour of Barcelona. People, so fun day at the beach with the bikes, and now it is meetup time, okay? And it's the moment of truth, right? We put it up on our stories where and when we're having a meetup, and now the weather today is not great, to be honest, okay?
It's not ideal.
It's less than ideal. That's the correct term from the man himself. So we'll see if anyone turns up. If not, it's cool. If they do, it's also cool.
Um, cooler if you do. Just acting like it's cool if they don't. It's actually not. It'll save us without egos in tatters, mate.
Yeah, it'll save us on hiring the paid actors if people do show up. But, uh, so we're doing it right over there. So, all right, see what's happening. Trust the Irish to turn up in a bit of rain, like I love it, I love it. ER, yeah, yeah. No strangers to a bit of rain. What do you most enjoy doing? We have this conversation like every day. So what's your highlight? I think it's the freedom. It's waking up every day and just being like, I decide today. I get to decide what I do. You know, I'm gonna run it. And that's a bit of a double-edged sword though, because like, of course I've worked other jobs, and in school, you know, you got the bell ring and someone telling you to go to class. But with this, it's all on you. So the freedom is amazing, and that's my favorite part about it all. But it is all on you. Like, you know, you got to get yourself out of bed, you got to get yourself to go to work, you got to get yourself to edit these videos when you don't want to. You choose what to do next. Usually just— how do you know— how do you plan your route? Oh, I'm like mad into planners, okay? Like, I write down everything and I'll break it down into short, medium, long-term goals. So short term, I'll plan out day. Medium term, I'll plan out my week. Long term, I'll plan out 1 to 3 months, sometimes even the whole year. But I break it down into that, and I write everything down in the diary and just come up with ideas, like, what's my next move going to be? So that's it. Goal setting is a skill, and you get better at it over time. Keep it real! Yes, the people! So after a very successful meetup today, like, we're honestly like, we couldn't believe how many people turned out, like, in a non-English-speaking country. So it was a very, very It was a very, very successful day, and now we're rewarding ourselves with the best mojitos in Barcelona, apparently. Well earned, boys. That is very good. That's phenomenal. How is it?
It looks creamy.
It's creamy, you know, it's not the frozen margaritas. They're not Max Tuning Sander, right? It's not mango. Margarita. No, margarita. Right, I'm terrible at it. But yeah, it is solid, it's solid. Next time you're coming to Dublin, yeah, I'm going to meet you all, guys. That's it, Fitness Boy and Rob Lipsett do Dublin next. Wow. So the real road trip actually begins tomorrow, and like, I think that's cool as hell, like, that we're actually doing a road trip. Excited, man. It's like a It's not just like going to Magaluf with the lads on a flight, bien pissed, and go home. Like, this is proper travel, right? This is the real deal. So we're gonna go back to talking about simulation theory. See you in the next one. Peace.
