When a bodybuilder goes to IKEA...

Rob Lipsett documents his first day in London after moving from Dubai, opening a massive supplement haul and explaining why he treats protein as food, not a supplement. He hits the gym to show his controlled-negative training technique, then heads to IKEA to film furniture shopping for his new office and bedroom.

Sup, sup everybody! Back from Dubai. I need a holiday after that holiday. Good one! Alright, so anyways, in all seriousness, like after a week away, then you come back, you do feel like you need to do a lot of catch-up. And that is like one of the negatives of traveling as much as I love it. But yes, we've got a ton of posts and I'm hoping one of these is a big Ghost package. My like mind, my like supplement sense is tingling and I feel the big one is. Also got some knee sleeves. That like see if that actually works. Okay, that's for another video. All right, I don't know what this is. Like, if this isn't supplements, it's gonna be really interesting to see what it is. Fuck this pillar. That was real Patrick Bateman. There's always a few comments being like, the white apartment and everything, they're like, he is Patrick Bateman. Some of my favorite movies. I relate to Patrick Bateman on a spiritual level. All right, okay, this is without a doubt the biggest supplement package ever received. Okay, so basically when I was leaving Ireland, supplements take up a lot of room and I had a lot of half-empty tubs that I needed to get rid of, so I gave them all to Raw Gym and my friends. I just kind of gave them out, you know, it's a nice little surprise for people. And so I said I'm gonna need a completely new fresh supplement sack and need some of— one of everything. Um, so yeah, really excited for this. All right, so instead of you sitting through a long supplement unboxing, I'm gonna do a quick voice voiceover and list what I got. So this package includes protein, pre-workout, aminos, a thermogenic, creatine, and a pump product. But if I was to choose just a few supplements to put down as my top picks, they would be the following. Number 1, creatine, the most proven and studied sports supplement there is. This will help you build strength and size and in turn muscle. Get involved. Protein. Now some people might disagree with me here, and that is fine, but personally I do not class this as a supplement. Seeing as you do not supplement your diet with a protein powder. You incorporate it into your diet to hit your desired protein intake. You don't hit your protein intake and then throw 3 scoops of protein on top of it. No, you use it and incorporate it into your diet. Today, actually, an Uber driver asked me, "Am I on the protein?" God bless. So this is like asking if I am on fat or carbs or calories. This is actually kind of a regular question I get, as some people just starting out in the gym, see how whey protein is marketed, and think it will give them steroid-like results. But as I said, it is just a convenient and tasty way to hit your macronutrient goals. So comment down below, I'm interested to hear your thoughts. Do you think protein powder is a supplement? Next up, pre-workout. A good pre-workout will give you that boost on days you need it. Main ingredient in here is caffeine, but there is some other stuff that will also help your workout. I would not recommend taking pre-workout every day. Instead, Save it on days you find difficult or days when you need a little boost. Honorable mention would be the pump product, which is in no way necessary, but goddammit, I love a filthy pump. Anyways, before we move on with the vlog, there is a link and discount code in the description box if you want to try out some GO supplements and also support the channel. Peace. Alright people, so right now we're on the lookout for two things: smashed avo toast, get some breakfast in, and also somewhere to give me a good haircut in the area because getting a fade is like pre-workout for your hair. Quote me on that. So after a long-haul flight, like, or after a week away, feel a little bit gross. So haircut helps me massively. As you guys all know, I get like a haircut every video. Once you start doing weekly fades, you can never go back. So that's the plan. And then of course getting in gym session, that is a huge priority because of course I missed my gym session yesterday with the traveling. But yeah, a lot to do today, so let's get after it. Alright people, so first meal of the day. We're at Egg Break in Notting Hill. We have our toast, poached eggs, lamb sausages, but, um, probably going to be eating out for a lot today because I'm planning a really epic recipe video and I'm going to wait till tomorrow to get all the ingredients for it. I'm super excited about it, so stay tuned for that. But either way, this is meal number 1 of the day, so yeah. Shredded! But anyways, really good haircut. Um, now we're gonna go to the bank. I gotta exchange some money, some dirham, and then we got the electricians coming at 3, so we're gonna have to move the workout to later. One thing I love about London is all go. You're always like, go, go, go! We go for a big walk, go for a big walk. You walk everywhere. I need to update you guys on the car. I need to update you guys on what my next form of transport is going to be. It's all goes. All right, so we're in Harrods now. We're picking up something upstairs. I'll show you in a minute. Crazy that this is down the road, but I did not know you could do grocery shopping here. It's like Whole Foods on steroids. Imagine a challenge video, how much it costs to do your grocery shopping in Harrods. Mental. Give me Lidl and Aldi now. But anyways, we're gonna go upstairs, get that thing I was talking about, and then walk home. Honestly, this is like, it's like Hogwarts. It's the most YouTube thing I've ever seen in my life. A drone in a cave. That is as right for me. Oh my God. London's drone laws are so strict, I'm kind of surprised it's even allowed to do this. I've been wanting this for so long, and like when it comes to spending on stuff, I saw this rule, um, it was Dave Ramsey who said it, uh, let me know if you follow him. It's like, if you really want to buy something and it's not just an impulse buy, if you're thinking about it for a few weeks, then, you know, you should buy it. But if you don't need it and you forget about it the following day, you know, then you don't actually— you shouldn't buy it. So I've been thinking about this for ages. I love, like, having a clean apartment. The clean environment helps me massively. So yeah, I want to get a robot vacuum. Yes, so this is the same promoting channel, you know, you got it everywhere you go. Yeah, you're— we're doing a collab, so this is it. This is how you promote your channel everywhere you go. So Rob Lipsett, youtube.com. Www.youtube.com/roblipsett and here we go. So there I am. Thank you very much, man. Thank you. See ya. I'm a new subscriber. So happy my RoboVac. So happy. I feel like I can finally be at one with myself now that I've got a RoboVac. Like, that was the thing I was missing in my life. RoboVac. This video is sponsored by RoboVac. It's not, but I wish it was. Alright, so a bit of an update. The lights will be fixed next week, so it's gonna be like the olden days. We're gonna use a candle while cooking our meals. I can't wait, real Bear Grylls vibe. Anyways, uh, in the meantime, I'm gonna have some sushi that I got on the go, then we're gonna go hit the gym. Very excited. Um, I'm gonna walk to the gym as well because yesterday was a travel day, sitting down for most of the day, so I need to get some steps in. And I've got no car as well, so yeah, I don't really have a choice. I'm supposed to be going to the gym right now, but RoboVac is more important. Like, this is gonna be cleaning my kitchen while I go to the gym. Fucking multitasking, what's up? So like, this is like Christmas for me because I actually didn't get anything for Christmas. Or no, what'd you get me for Christmas again? Paris! Oh yeah, you got me to Paris. I didn't get anything physical for Christmas. Okay, switch on before you— Clearly. Okay, you don't need to zoom in on me every time I say something. It's not fucking Looney Tunes. We're gonna pause game for a minute here, I'm gonna figure this out.
6 hours later.
Okay, right, Robo back, let's go! I've never been happier in my whole entire life.
A little bit more than you.
Sorry. Sick!
Got swag, got spots, Got jocks, got blocks, red eye, 12 o'clock, I'm in the sky going far, 300 hooch, pink sleeves. Mama told me succeed, Tarzan, I'm climbing trees. They don't want you in double G's, they don't want you in AMG. Mama don't want me in these streets, the hustle don't want me to get no sleep. My bitch don't want me to fuck her roommate. It ain't us if it ain't our fleet. They don't want you to rock bling bling, they don't want you to ride in foreign. Don't want you to have indoors, man. Just give me the fat pockets and a All right, so just finishing off a back pull workout there.
And so what I'm finishing up with here is actually controlled negatives. So you can like spot yourself on the preacher curl, or you can also use a bench. So it's like just a way like training past failure. And, uh, overloading your muscles pretty much. So basically you squat yourself up to here and then you kind of let it drag down the eccentric. These are absolutely killer, a good way to finish your session. Oh my God, done! I have been absolutely craving this protein oats. Y'all know what it is, like staple in my diet. Added some banana there. We stopped for sushi on the way home and I'm still a little bit hungry, so I'm gonna have this and also finish up the vlog here because tomorrow it's IKEA day, right? And I watch So much IKEA hauls. There's nothing better than a day in IKEA. So tomorrow I'm gonna do, um, the haul and start putting together the office, which I'm most excited about. And then I'm gonna take you guys along with me and yeah, finish the vlog then. But yeah, so tomorrow's gonna be another epic day, so I wanna carry it over then. So I'm gonna chill for the evening and see you guys in the morning. Peace. Last video we're in Dubai, now we're in Croydon. So today is an IKEA day. Everyone loves going to IKEA, it's so exciting. Nothing is more exciting than than Swedish furniture. So today we're getting out my office and also some stuff for the kitchen and the bedroom. But seeing as we've no car to transport the stuff— I'll talk about that later— probably just gonna have to go in, look at it, order it, and they'll deliver it. But anyways, uh, we're here now, so welcome to the magical world of IKEA. Unfortunately, this video is not sponsored by IKEA, but I wish it was. All right, I've noticed with vlogging in public there's like levels to it. Vlogging on the phone, it's fine. No one really notices, you know, could be like Snapchat and Instagram story, whatever. Vlogging with a camera, people are like, "Oh, what's going on over there?" You know, vlogging with a camera with a big microphone on top, people lose their freaking minds. They're like, "Is he tapping our conversation?" Right now I've got a huge Sony A7III with a Rode VideoMic on top, but, uh, gotta do it for the content. I regret this already. Kinda just like, why didn't we just do this online? But look, here we are. I guess it's part of like family fun, isn't it? Um, right, so we're gonna go around, make a note on the shopping list what we want to purchase. Oh, this is wrong. Making notes on where to touch purchase ain't collecting shit. It's getting delivered. Yeah, but you have to take out what you want, right? Let's go. All right, so we do have two couches that we're not sure if we can get rid of or not, but they are very unsightly. But that's not like the main priority. Main priority is the officer is the desk. It's completely empty, it's up to us to like do what we want with it. So yeah, that's like the main thing. This is really nice, um, I'd love like an L-shaped couch, but right, let's go office area first as that's most important. Wow, that's where I put a Ben. Ben, if you're watching this, that's what you're getting come February. All right, change of plan, today was complete fail. We decided it's better to just take pictures of everything we like and then just order it all online in one order. But it's still good to see it in person. I think so. Like, I'd make a day out of it, like. And then we're going to King's Gym, which is literally a few minutes down the road, so it's like a reason to go to Croydon. No, seriously, it's a Saturday, it's a good day out. It's a reason to come chill on the couch. It's a reason to come chill on the couch in IKEA and just be like, what's up, vlog? Um, but yeah, so, uh, like what we're saying, we got rid of the second bed to turn that into an office. And then we're thinking if we get rid of the couches, because they're so unnecessary, like they're two big long couches and bloody me living there. Like, we're thinking maybe at this one, it's like 470, and it like pops out into a bed. And then if people are staying over, you can just have them there. Like, this is a big couch bed. Yeah, and you have like movie night on it as well. So yeah, we'll see. I think this is actually really cool, um, this kind of like similar to the layout of offices I want to go to. Like, pinboards are kind of old school, kind of classic, and I think like it looks good. Like, it'd be cool to even have like some Polaroids up there, clock, charts. So yeah, definitely gonna get one of them. Pretty sure they're cheap too. That's the clock. But anyways, let me try this on for size. Yeah, yeah, I think this is a bit of me. Welcome to Lipstick Studios. This is loads of fun. No, hold on, I need to take a photo. I have to get this home now. Have to get to the top of this IKEA to— Oh, I just put it on backwards. Have to get to the top of this IKEA photo. Why is he in IKEA? Why is he not wearing a top? Have to click on the video. Things to do for YouTube, like seriously. You gotta like the video for that. But anyways, we're finished up here. We picked out everything we like, and now, as soon as we're down in the area, we're gonna go to King's Gym. Uh, the video finding London's best bodybuilding gym, everyone said go to King's Gym. So this is like one of the few times we'll be down in this area, so it would be an absolute shame to miss out on that and not vlog it. So yeah, workout incoming. King's Gym, baby, here we go. Very excited. Oh, it's grimy. What's going on everyone? Checking in with another training update. Things are going surprisingly well given the month that we just had. We moved countries, we had a crazy birthday week in Dubai that was amazing, moving into a new apartment, trying out different gyms, you know, finding a kind of main gym to go to in the first place. It's been a crazy month but very good one, and I've never felt more motivated in my life. Sometimes you need to change up your environment to kind of give yourself a kick up the ass, and that's exactly what I did. I kind of feel like I'm starting from zero in London, and that's amazing. I'm actually gonna do a full video on that, but yeah, it's been a really good month. Also, hope everyone's been having a great month too, and that 2020 is off to a good start for you guys. As for the gym, King's Gym, it is absolutely badass. Without a doubt, one of the best gyms I've trained at in my entire life. I'm not just saying that. Only problem is it is very far outside of where I'm living in London, but I am gonna try make a trip down here in the future. Also met a lot of subscribers in the gym, and that always motivates me a lot. Like, when someone comes up and they're like, hey Rob, watch your videos, you know, I really like the content you put out, they always say like, oh, sorry to disturb you, and I'm like, it's not disturbing me at all. Like, I'm so grateful for that. This is what I set out to do, and I'm just I'm just delighted. So if you see me around, please say hello. It really, really motivates me. So the gym is amazing, equipment's so good, and we are just hitting a push day in this session. So I'm going to leave you guys here with some raw footage, then we're going to finish up the vlog, and I got some more exciting news coming later in the month. Alright, uh, alright people, so workout and vlog finished actually. It's probably gone on long enough. We did a lot. We got Robo back, we hit 2 workouts, went to IKEA, hit up King's Gym. Amazing gym, by the way. It was really busy because today's Saturday. Everyone's probably like taking a day off after a long training session. So I might try come here like maybe Monday or Tuesday morning, do like a really long workout. But either way, gym's amazing, staff are so nice, and so far that's the best gym I've tried out. But I want to try it out when it's empty.
Anyways, finish up the vlog here. Thank you so much for watching. Through the lows, about to throw a party, invite everybody I know. Let me send a mass text to everyone in my phone. That's good food and drinks, my mood makes you think that this life's made for a king. The room starts to shake so smooth, if you blink you might just miss the whole thing.
