Why Me And Sarah Did NOT Vlog In Dubai...

Rob and Sarah skipped daily vlogging during their Dubai trip because constant filming was straining their relationship. They broke up in 2017 partly due to stress from intensive daily vlogging in Bali, so Sarah asked for a five-day break to just relax by the pool instead.

Yo, what's up everyone? So a lot of people have been asking us, yo, where are the Dubai vlogs? You guys vlogging out there? You're gonna make a big couple goals video? So we decided to sit down, have a chat, and I think it's a good topic to talk about social media and relationships.
Also guys, excuse my voice, I am sick at the moment, so I might sound a little more manly than usual.
Yeah, comments are gonna tear you apart for that. So as you know, me and Sarah did get back together in November, so pretty and for most of 2017 we were broken up. And just before we broke up, we went on a trip to Bali. We did a lot of vlogging over there, so I'm sure a lot of older subscribers will remember those videos. And basically, that was the last holiday we went on before Dubai, and it was not ideal, okay? This was when I was in like full-on work mode. I was like, the channel was just really taking off, and I was just obsessed with with vlogging. I never switched off. 2017, or even the end of 2016, was the hardest I ever worked in my life, um, because I was laying the foundations. And now I actually kind of work smarter instead of harder, and I outsource a lot of things.
So yeah, we only went to Dubai for 5 days, and I kind of said it to Rob before we went. I said like, can we please not be vlogging the whole time? At the moment I have taken a bit of a break from YouTube, which I am coming back to.
I'm gonna make her come back.
Yeah, and I hope you guys are okay with the fact that I asked Rob to do that, but I just kind of felt that we just kind of needed a little bit of time away by ourselves. And you did vlog a bit?
Yeah, I did. That's going to be at the end of this video.
So yeah, he did vlog a bit, but I just asked if it could not be something every single day, and Rob agreed. And I think he was like happy to take the break as well, switch off. Yeah, so we kind of— we both like kept— we were uploading on Instagram and everything, but, uh, with YouTube we took a bit of a break. And I think one of the main reasons like we decided not to vlog was because last year when we both went to Bali just before we broke up, Rob was uploading every day or every second day, and I was also uploading on YouTube, and it did take a big toll on our relationship. It was very stressful, a lot of pressure. Yeah. And I find that like, you know, sometimes you just want to go on a holiday and just be lazy and relax and just like, you know, literally eat ice cream, eat sushi. And like, I feel like when you're constantly vlogging, you feel like you need to constantly be doing things that are exciting, and it just kind of takes away from the holiday personally.
So yeah, and it just makes it seem like work. Like, this is what I do social media, we do social media full-time, like that is definitely our job, you know, so when we bring that on holidays it just seems like work. And so this was our first trip away when we're back together and we wanted to just make it special and make it just really enjoyable. So that is the reason, I'm definitely not quitting YouTube at all. I'm actually gonna do a video reviewing 2017 and talking about 2018 goals, probably the next video. And I'm so psyched up. Like, this channel is just in such a good place to even, you know, blow up even more, and I'm really motivated to do that. And Sarah's also making a comeback as well, so two of us, we're still loving YouTube, okay? Absolutely love it. But, uh, so yeah, again, we went to Dubai and we switched off and really enjoyed ourselves. Yeah, we lay by the pool a lot. Yeah, and that sort of thing, it's like, you know, sometimes you're just lazy and you just like hang out with each other and you can't vlog that because like you're just literally taking some downtime.
All you're doing is lying by the pool and eating, so.
And, uh, yeah. Um, but we did kind of take some iPhone clips, like really casual, like sporadically throughout the holiday, so that is what we're gonna play, uh, if you guys just want to check that out, like some easy watching. But anyways, thank you so much for watching. Be sure to give the video a thumbs up, comment if you want to see me and Sarah do some funny videos or some funny challenges. And guys, I cannot wait for 2018. Got some cool videos planned. This week and some big news that I can— I just literally confirmed right there. So yeah, excited, and chat soon. Keep it real. Yo, what's going on everyone? So today's date is the 31st of December 2017. So I want to start vlogging today and I just realized the last day of the year. So when I upload this video, it's gonna be the first video of 2018. And I said, what better place to start it than on Jumeirah Beach, The Palms in Dubai? And the sun is just setting and I'm here with Sarah and the two of us. We're gonna go out later, meet some friends, and just have a great night in general. So I decided to take out my camera and just begin the vlog here. So today we chilled out on the beach, and it's a great place to just kind of reflect and think about how insane the year was, how much we got done. And there is something about the end of the year. Look, I know it's like, you know, just a random irrelevant number. It's like you're not gonna be a different person when the clock turns to 2018, but there is just something motivating about it. So just doing some good reflecting here and I decided it would be a good place to start this video. Alright, so later on that day, just getting ready for the night out. You know it is a rare occasion when I'm drinking beer. Can I come into the bathroom?
I'm going to straighten my hair.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Okay, when else could you wear something this extra?
Going all extra for New Year's. You look amazing. And then I broke out the white jeans and I'm wearing a flowery shirt. I got it in Zara. Um, for some reason when I'm wearing a flowery shirt on Instagram, everyone just loses it. They love it. So what are you looking for?
Um, my bobbin. Here.
Okay, so two of us are going to finish off getting ready here, take a couple pics, and then luckily enough, okay, got a friend all over the world, okay? Literally no matter where I go, I always know someone, which is just such a great feeling. And we're going to meet a few of the Dubai crew, and we're meant to have like not only a table but a big massive balcony. So that is the plan for this evening. Uh, so yeah, feeling amazing. Happy New Year's! Happy belated New Year's, time you're watching this. Okay, so outfit change number 3. I think that's my favorite. Comfort is key. All right, okay, so we are not bringing the Sony a6500 out. That is a recipe for disaster. So I'm gonna switch over to an iPhone, and we shall see what we get up to tonight. Enjoy the vlog, people. Oh, look at the camera.
You look beautiful.
Suck this, Mason. All right, so it is January 1st. I do not know how we even made it to the gym. I think we're just doing it to make ourselves feel better about ourselves because we had a couple drinks last night. We're not hungover, but we're just feeling a bit off. I'm eating an apple. So we're gonna chill here for a little bit. It's a bit late in the day. And we're gonna see what we get up to. It's so funny, on the 1st of January everyone's always like, "New year, new me," but everyone just like feels like shit and is hungover. But anyways, not us, we're gonna try being productive, right? What do you say?
I feel like shit.
No, you're gonna say, "Go team, go!" Go team, go! Look at those flotation devices go!
It would be a disgrace if we didn't see a camel in Dubai.
Look at these guys go! What's his name? Cashew. Very nice. How much? One thing I gotta say about Dubai is their sushi game is on point. Then Sarah just throws a random croissant into the mix.
More carbs.
Yeah, you just can't get enough carbs, can you? So right, we're gonna eat here and then I opened up a tab, so we're gonna chill here for the day. It's just a free-for-all of chocolates right in the lobby. Like, stuff like this, it is dangerous for me and Sarah. Mmm, I know that look on your face.
With the coffee.
Oh, chocolate and coffee, what a combo. All right, so we are gonna just chill here for the hour then. Okay, look, I'm going for the big thing, the steak. This is dangerous. We need to vacate. It's like muffin covered in chocolate with crunchy, crunchy little balls.
I just want to eat the entire thing of white chocolate buttons.
Let's bring it up to the room. Hey, couples on their last night, they go out to eat, but this is us. This is why people like YouTube, because it's real, okay? This is us. So we got Habit Burger sweet potato fries. Yeah, give us a look there. And Santa Barbara style animal burgers, unbelievable. I also got a salad there, I'll have that afterwards. Then we're going to watch Black Mirror on Netflix. So perfect end to the trip.
