Eating in front of a bright screen while distracted raises blood glucose more than the food itself. The same meal eaten mindfully at the right time causes a smaller blood sugar spike than the same meal eaten at midnight in front of a screen, barely chewed, under stress.
Chapters
Studies have shown when people eat in front of a bright screen, it actually increases their blood sugar more than just the food does. You could have two people eating the exact same meal, same calories, right? And we'll talk about calories in, calories out another time, but the exact same calories. But if one person ate that meal at the right time of day, slowed down, chewed their food, was eating with full presence and awareness versus somebody who's eating that meal at midnight. In front of a TV, barely chewing it while they're stressed out, checking their email, right? That's gonna have a totally different effect on them. So we wanna actually teach people how to live. And when they learn how to live and how to use their body as a vehicle, then amazing, amazing things start happening and it doesn't take long for them to see results.
